This grate/drain is true to size and very sturdy and durable. I also like the small grooves on top of it that will help to prevent people slipping on it due to the grooves. This grate is holding up well in my barn and I have even drove the truck over it so far and it doesn't bend/flex.

This 12” x 12” steel grate is incredibly sturdy and impressively heavy at 5+ lbs. This is a very well-made grate. I intend to use it as part of our yard drainage system to cover the endpoints of the pipes that come off our downspouts. Right now, each drainage pipe ends in small hole that is a twisted ankle waiting to happen. These are a bit larger than I need, but better too large than too small.These are made from galvanized carbon steel with a hot-dip galvanized finish. Some similar grates are made of grade 430 stainless steel , but these should be more than adequate for residential usage.This grate is very high quality and quite impressive. At only $19.99 it is an incredible bargain. This is an exceptional product.

A very nice, heavy-duty, functional grate for covering openings that might need to be walked, mowed, or driven across, this grate, with its solid construction excellent serrated edges for traction is the real deal! I got the 12" x 12" because that's what was on offer as a Vine item, but seeing how sturdy it is, I'm now looking at going back for a couple of larger sizes.I'm using this one temporarily as a cover for a place my dogs dug out that my mower wheel falls into and gets stuck if I'm not careful enough - and when I fill it, they just dig it out again. This has stymied them completely. I also have a couple of low spots and narrow gullies along my lakeshore that a larger size would bridge nicely (with a stake, spike , or bent piece of rebar to hold it in place) for my mower, and a couple of French drains that could use something sturdies than the usual plastic grate they come with.Good item if you need sturdy, long-lasting grates for anything! Not inexpensive, but should last for many years.
