Works awesome and a great price! And huge time saver!

Pretty happy with this purchase. I recently bought a mini skid steer and rather than buying new implements for it I modify or make my own. This has made that process a lot quicker and easier to accomplish. It has plenty of torque and the speed adjustment works good, if I have to make any negative comment it would be the weight however that’s the nature of the beast when using a magnetic drill. But the time it’s saved me bringing the drill to the implement and not the other way around has been a huge time and back saver! I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

Great product at a fraction of the cost of a name brand drill!

Not a Makita or Milwakee but for a fraction of the price of any of the name brands this thing is AWESOME! Ive been trying to drill a 1.25 hole on a 1/8 tick stainless steel using every drill bit you can imagine with no success. So I decided to give this drill a try. Well, it drilled the hole on the first try. One thing to remember when drilling hard metals is to take your time. The slower the better. Apply light steady pressure and lots of cutting oil. If I could give 10 stars I would. May not be for Professional use but for some one that needs to drill on hard metals/wood every once in a while this drill is perfect!

Leaky Coolant, Great Drill

Great Drill, used this to drill and core out steel. Did up to 2” hole through 1” steel plate, had to go pretty slow, have to be very careful with the pressure as not to stall it, but it does the job.The coolant port didn’t screw in and leaked everywhere but I just manually applied the coolant.

Great value, would buy again!

For the price, this is a fantastic drill. I literally could not rent a drill from a tool rental place for the price of buying one of these.The magnet is strong enough that it had no trouble holding the drill against a vertical quarter inch steel ibeam. Some reviewers have commented that it could use a safety interlock to prevent the drill from being powered on before the magnet is energized, but the drill I received in fact has this interlock. It could be that there are older ones that did not.The speed control and soft start on the motor work perfectly. When you start to load up the drill, the motor will slow down a little bit, but then feed more power and pick back up. I highly recommend picking up some kind of cutting oil or tapping fluid for use with the annular cutters.Worked great, 5/5 stars, would buy again.

I wish that I had bought one of these a long time ago. Annular cutters work so much better for putting holes in steel plate than ordinary drill bits. The magnetic base is very strong and holds the machine solidly in place. The variable speed is awesome and in my opinion this a "must have" feature to extend the life of the cutters. Don't forget to use proper lubrication on the cutter as well. I didn't install the included oil dispenser system and instead just put a dab of Hougen 11748 RotaGel Cutting Lube on the cutter before drilling each hole. Time will tell how well this holds up to heavy use, but at this point I'm very pleased and would definitely buy it again.Update on 04/13/26: So far I've drilled about 100 holes into plate steel (mostly less than 1/4" thick). I am still impressed with this machine overall and the various annular cutters have held up great and are still sharp. The motor does make considerable noise during use but it doesn't seem to affect the cutting ability, and there is no noticeable runout in the spindle rotation. The main complaint that I have is with the loose tolerances between the handle gear and the teeth on the sliding motor/spindle plate. There is considerable slop in this connection allowing for about an inch of handle movement before the motor/spindle head responds, and this also means the head will sometimes suddenly drop about 1/2-inch while moving the handle. It doesn't appear that this is due to wear or anything out of adjustment that I can see. Unfortunately, I think it is just the way the unit was designed, and while this slop is not a show-stopper it is rather annoying. However, despite this issue I still like the machine and am glad that I purchased it. It has certainly saved me a lot of time while drilling holes compared to using twist-bits. Thanks for reading.

Excellent for light duty use.Excellent for light duty use.

For me, this mag drill from Vevor has been great. Upon receiving it, I needed to adjust the gibs for the vertical travel. It's an easy process of gradually snugging up the adjusting screws until you get the desired amount of resistance. Then, tighten the nuts to lock the screws in place. When I received it, the screws had the travel locked in place. I assume that was for shipping purposes.I am now about halfway through the job for which I bought this tool. So far, so good. I am running a 5/8" annular cutter to modify a laser table. I machined a simple fixture to locate the cutter, and the magnet is then energized while the tool is centered. There is virtually no movement when powering the magnet. The base is square to the travel of the travel. There hasn't been any noticeable runout in the spindle. I am more than happy with the accuracy and function of this machine. For what I paid (well under $200 USD), this tool has gone well beyond my expectations. I don't know how well it would hold up to heavy duty use, but it is working beautifully for my project.Thus far, I've found that the tool has no trouble pushing the 5/8" cutter through the 1/4" steel plate. It says it will handle a 2" cutter, but I don't plan to ever put it to that test. If I put some pressure into the 5/8" cutter, the motor will start to labor. However, for this type of cutting, you've just gotta keep things lubed and let the cutter do the work. I don't know how often I'll need this tool in the future, but I feel it will have paid for itself if it makes it through this job. It is a fantastic value.

Hit and Miss

The first unit I received was defective - The drill motor was not tight to the moving head which allowed it to rotate side to side approx 5 degrees. I could see how to fix it by removing the head and tightening some loose fasteners but didn't think that was my job so I returned it. The second unit was GREAT. No play; no alignment issues; no repairs required. This drill tears through metal like nobody's business. Use cutting oil or cooling fluid if you want your annular cutters to last. Makes drilling metal a breeze. The working unit deserves 5 stars but I was sent a unit that didn't deserve 2 stars.

Cheap Bearings cause TERRIBLE runout

I saw these reviewed on YouTube, and I knew the spindle's runout may be terrible. But it was worse than that. With the drill chuck installed, it had a full 1/8 inch total out of round at the tip of the chuck. I'm not sure it could even cleanly follow a pilot hole in that condition. The rest of the machines seems very solid and well-made, so I decided to take the risk and try to remove the runout myself.Initially I thought the product must have been dropped, bending the tip of the spindle. So I supported the housing carefully in my press, and applied up to 3 tons of bending force to the spindle's high spot. It didn't budge so much as .001. So I disassembled the gear case to get the spindle out. Removing the big drive gear was very difficult, since the gear is keyed to the spindle, and the gear face around the keyway was peened inward. This causes the gear to be bound hard in place, and you can't get to the perimeter of the gear to put a puller on it. I then went to drill out the key itself, and found it to be hardened. (WHY?)After I drilled the key with a carbide endmill, and pecked out the bulk of it with a small carbide burr, I finally got the gear off and the spindle out.I then mounted the spindle between centers, and found it only had a couple thousandths out of round. So the spindle itself was straight. I ordered new NSK brand upper and lower bearings and re-assembled. Now the tip of the spindle has about 6 thousandths out of round. Visible at high speed, but plenty good enough.So the cheap/nasty Chinese bearings are what makes the spindle have AWFUL runout. And replacing the bearings is possible, but a real pain. BUT: I was trying to disassemble it carefully, not damaging the spindle bearings. If I had it to do over again, I'd just have put puller jaws against the lower bearing and drove the spindle down and outward that way, disregarding damage to the bearings, since they're getting replaced anyway. That would have been way easier.So if you're up for that challenge, I still think the product is an OK buy. But you have to think of it as more of a DIY "Mag Drill Kit" than a ready-to-go mag drill.
