These poles are good for string lights. The black powder coating is nice and should last a while. They are screwed together making them about 7 feet tall. You can also just assemble a few tubes so the height is less than 7 feet. When the four prongs are inserted firmly into the ground, the poles are stable. I wish they were a little thicker but will do the job and should last for several years.

I am very pleased with these metal string light poles and how easy they are to assemble! Each pole just takes a few minutes to put together. The pole height is adjustable by adding or removing sections with an achievable maximum height of 7.68 FT. They appear to be well made, sturdy, and durable and are easy to place into the ground with the attached base stakes. You receive 6 of these poles, and they really support and make your string lights look great! Braces are included if you wish to additionally attach these poles to a wooden fence, etc. Fantastic product!

These inexpensive metal poles are a great way to run lightweight light strings ("fairy lights") around your yard. They arrive in roughly two-foot sections. Simply twist them together to form each pole: a top, as many middle sections as needed, and, if needed, the spiked bottom. If you have something like a weighted umbrella base, leave off the bottom section and secure the pole in the base. And nothing says that you can't make each pole longer or shorter than the default height. If you want to mount a pole against, say, a fence post, use the included clamps and screws. The texture of the surface ensures that the sections remain securely connected. In fact, unscrewing two parts can take some effort, even if you didn't tighten them firmly. If you want to support heavy-duty, Edison-base light strings year-round, I suggest spending the money for heavier-duty poles. (Or perhaps use more poles closer together.) But for lightweight string lights, these are perfect.

Have you ever seen something on Amazon and immediately knew exactly where you could use it? Well, this 6-pack of outdoor poles was one of those products for me! We put them around our boathouse deck, and they have made a great addition to our outdoor space.I was impressed with the mechanical design of these poles. The sections interlock together, making the assembled poles surprisingly stable. I also really like the black powder-coated finish, which was just the ticket for the black string lights we added, as you can see in my photos. When fully assembled, the poles measure 7.68 feet tall. Since we only needed five poles, we got creative with the sixth one. We used the extra pole section and the 5-claw base from the sixth pole on one of the poles so that all five would be the same height around the boathouse deck.At the top of each pole is a molded V-shaped pole head designed to hold string lights. We did discover that we needed to use some black zip ties to keep our lights securely in place and prevent them from sagging. Once everything was installed, though, the result was exactly what we were looking for.The set also comes with screws and mounting brackets. Unfortunately, this is where I found a quality issue. The brackets were too small to fit properly around the poles and were also very thinly made. We ended up purchasing sturdier brackets separately. We painted the new brackets and screws black so they would blend in with the poles. At $69.99, I do think the manufacturer could have supplied better-quality mounting hardware. That said, this issue does not deter me from giving these poles a 5-star rating. I really like the poles themselves, and they have worked beautifully for our boathouse deck.Just one piece of advice: before you start assembling, make sure you have everything you need—including sturdier mounting brackets if necessary. Once installed, these poles look great and give our string lights exactly the support they needed. Five stars from me!

These outdoor string light poles are a simple and attractive way to add overhead lighting to patios, decks, gardens, backyards, pool areas, and event spaces without relying on nearby trees or permanent structures. The metal construction provides sturdy support for compatible string lights, while the six-pack makes it easy to create a coordinated lighting arrangement across a larger area. I especially like the flexibility these poles provide for weddings, parties, outdoor dinners, or everyday backyard entertaining, allowing the lighting layout to be changed as needed. They are a practical way to define an outdoor space while creating the warm, inviting atmosphere that string lights provide.

4-ish starsThe box these came in was much smaller than I expected, which made sense once I opened it. The poles are broken down into a lot of smaller sections that screw together, so they are more compact for shipping than I pictured. Assembly was not bad, but just know these are not one piece heavy duty poles. They are also thinner than I expected. Once they are put together, they do work for hanging outdoor string lights, but I would not call them something that feels like it will last forever. For $69.99, I think that is kind of expected. You are getting six poles, so the price per pole is not terrible, but these are still more of a budget friendly option than a permanent patio or yard setup.Overall, they're cheap, but they do what they're supposed to do. They hold string lights, the height is adjustable, and the base design helps them stay in place. I just would not expect them to survive years and years of heavy weather without some rust or wear. If I get a few good seasons out of them, I would consider that a win.
