I ordered this extractor set for removing 4 locks from car that we bought and did not contain the key. Worked very well. The spiral design bites into rounded hardware well and provides a solid grip when used with an impact wrench. The 1/2-inch drive is convenient for automotive work, and the sizes cover several common lug nut sizes. The sockets also feel reasonably heavy-duty for the price. Overall, this is a useful set to have on hand for those situations where a normal socket no longer works.

So many people lose the key to their locking lug nuts (usually it's the lube techs that forget to put them back in the car) and they are a pain to get off without the right tool. This tool has made it a quick and easy process and I can get all 4 off in about 1 minute. They get a good grip whether using hand tools or impact. It has enough variety in sizes that I shouldn't run in to one that doesn't fit. They are made of a durable hardened material and should last through dozens of cars and the price was right.

I recently acquired a 2005 Scion xb. The car isn't in bad shape, but definitely needs some attention. The tires needed replaced. My family does a lot of our own car repairs, since my son can do the work and buying your own parts and DIYing it can save money most of the time. So I got this set for my son to use as we bring the old Green Goblin back to life. The car had been sitting for a while. There was some rug on the old lug nuts. This set held it's grip as he worked to relieve the car of it's old tires. They can be re used again and again, and they are nearly univeral for most cars, so at less than $25, it's more than a good value! I love the case that holds the set together. The last thing you want to do when you get ready to work on a car is go looking for all your tools. This set should last for years, as long as everyone agrees to put them back in the case, and put the case back in the same place every time you need to use it.

If you’ve ever fought with a rounded off lug nut then you probably had to ruin a couple of good sockets to get it removed. The manufacturing of these sockets will give you an advantage over ruining one of your good sockets at home. It a thin wall design that is impacted rated. It’s designed to tighten on the nut when rotated counter clockwise. No smacking on an undersized socket with a hammer. It’s a 1/2” drive so you can use serious tools to snap onto it. The set doesn’t come with instructions so if you need them you will have to print the ones in the product description.The case with this kit has exceeded my expectations. It has removable hinges so you can use it as a flat tray in your roll around box. It has a nice aluminum clasp instead of the basic plastic snap closure.At $19.97 at the time of this review I believe this is a good value for what you’re getting. This set is not cheaply made and should do an excellent job for the home mechanic.

If you have ever been stuck with a flat tire that you couldn't replace because of a stripped lug nut, then you know how frustrating and expensive that can turn out to be and how beneficial it is to own a damaged lug nut removal set like this. I drive a 2016 Toyota Sienna about 60 hours a week as a ride share and delivery driver in a city that is notorious for having rough roads fillled with potholes. So, over the years I have changed quite a few flat tires. During this past winter, I got stuck with a flat tire that I couldn't get off because one of the lug nuts was too stripped down. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get it off and my dad actually drove to my location with my impact wrench. However, it didn't make a difference because once a lug nut gets too stripped down, it's physically impossible for normal sockets to grip them, at least that was my experience. Since I didn't own a set like this one, that one damaged lug nut ended up costing me about $250 to tow the car to my mechanic because I broke down far out in the middle of the suburbs.There are certain tools and parts that you buy online that as soon as you take them out of the box and feel them in your hands, you can tell right away that you bought a well-made product. And that is definitely the case with these with sockets, which are clearly impact rated and made to withstand the high pressure from removing a damaged lug nut with an impact wrench. Luckily, I have my old 2006 Toyota Sienna sitting in my driveway which is broken down and hasn't been driven in years. All of its lug nuts are rusted and damaged, so I was able to test these sockets on several of them. And I chose the worst looking ones. And the results were fantastic. The sockets are designed to bite into and grip the stripped down lug nuts and spin them right out with your impact wrench. And if you don't own an impact wrench, the set comes with an adapter as well which you can use with your driver.These sockets are the real deal. They are extremely well-made and made quick work in removing all of the rusted and stripped lug nuts that I tested them on. The set includes several sizes which covers the different size lug nuts that may be on your vehicle or truck. And you can obviously use them on stripped and damaged bolts and nuts as well. These are truly well-made, strong sockets that are perfectly designed to remove even the toughest lug nuts. In my opinion, this set is worth much more than its list price, especially since it includes several sockets, an adapter, a tap out tool, and a sturdy case that keeps everything organized. Even if you don't currently have any damaged lug nuts, I still highly recommend keeping these sockets in storage to save yourself in the future from a costly tow.
