Knowing that the opening between studs is 14.5 inches why is it made 14.56 inches. Then, I didn't know until I cut the sheet rock that the studs were 14.375 inches apart. How could the carpenter have been so careless? Now what do I do? Search for a safe a little narrower than 14.5 inches.

Excellent In-Wall Safe with Multiple Access OptionsExcellent In-Wall Safe with Multiple Access Op...

[Color: Off White, Color: Off White]
This in-wall safe is a great combination of security, storage, and concealment. The safe fits perfectly between standard wall studs, with the front lip resting neatly against the stud surface. There aren't really mounting instructions included, but installation is fairly self-explanatory since there are six mounting holes around the sides and top that can be used to secure it to the studs. The safe offers several ways to access it, including fingerprint recognition, a PIN keypad, and a physical key. Having multiple options is convenient, especially if one method isn't available or the battery is depleted. The interior is also thoughtfully designed. There's a removable shelf that allows you to customize the storage space, and the interior pegboard is removable as well. The included four hooks give you additional flexibility for organizing smaller items.I particularly like the magnetic key holder. It can be attached inside the safe door or positioned elsewhere, which gives you another convenient storage option without taking up much space. The biggest advantage of this safe is the ability to conceal it inside the wall. Once installed, it can be hidden behind artwork, a mirror, or another wall covering, making it much less conspicuous than a traditional standalone safe. The packaging was also excellent. The corners were protected with both metal and plastic pieces, and there was plenty of cardboard reinforcement throughout the box. The safe arrived without any damage despite being a heavy item, which shows that the manufacturer put some thought into protecting it during shipping.Overall, I'm very happy with this safe. It fits securely between the studs, has multiple access methods, provides flexible interior storage, and can be concealed behind wall decor. For the price, it offers a great combination of functionality and peace of mind.

NEVER SEEN A SAFE A LIKE THIS ONE

[Color: Off White]
I hadn’t really seen a safe with this type of in-wall design before, so I thought it was a pretty cool idea. We put ours in a fairly large walk-in closet that’s already packed with stuff, and the biggest advantage is that it doesn’t take up any floor or shelf space.Installation took me longer than I expected. It’s not especially difficult, but there’s definitely some measuring involved, and you need to make sure there aren’t any wires or plumbing where you’re cutting into the wall. You’ll need a drill and some basic tools. The instructions are actually pretty thorough, which helped. As far as the safe itself, it has a lot of features. The fingerprint reader has worked great for me and unlocks on the first try. You can also use a PIN, and there’s a key as a backup. I like that the door kind of pops open when you unlock it, too. The beeping was a little annoying at first, but luckily you can turn the sounds off.The inside light is handy, and I like the pegboard for organizing smaller things. It isn’t a particularly deep safe, so I wouldn’t expect to store anything bulky in it. For us, it’s perfect for jewelry, passports, important documents, and a few other valuables.I also like that once it’s installed, you can easily keep it hidden behind a picture or even some furniture. It’s obviously not going to be impossible for someone to break into, but for what we’re using it for, I think it’s more than enough as a deterrent.Overall, I’m actually more impressed with it than I expected to be. It has a lot of useful features, the fingerprint reader works well, and having the key backup is nice peace of mind. Installation is probably the biggest hassle, but that’s kind of expected with an in-wall safe. So far, I’d definitely recommend it.

Heavy Duty Wall Safe

[Color: Black]
This wall safe was a great investment. appreciate the concept of being able to have multiple biometrics, along with keys and a code. Very easy to use, and program. The material its made of is heavy duty. The size fits well in a standard wall. My only negative is the peg board set up, I feel its really not as functionable as i would like.

Really has a lot of features, smart design that can be concealed

[Color: Off White]
I haven’t seen this kind of in-wall design before and thought it was a pretty cool idea. We installed it in a decently sized walk-in closet, which is pretty packed full of stuff, but the nice part about it is it doesn’t take up any floor space. Installation was a fairly involved process, mainly measuring and making sure there aren’t any wires or plumbing in the install area. It’s not a difficult process but it does require a drill and basic tools and it ended up taking me longer than expected. The provided instructions are are pretty thorough though, which is nice. It’s a really full featured safe and I like all of the different ways it can be opened. The fingerprint reader works well and unlocks on the first try every time, there’s a number row for PIN code entry and a key for a backup method. It also sort of pops open when it’s unlocked, which is cool, although I’m not a fan of the beeping sounds it makes but thankfully they can be turned off. An interior light and pegboard, which is a nice extra, round out the features and I think it’s well designed overall. It’s not a very deep safe though but we’re keeping jewelry, passports and other documents inside along with some other valuables; it works well for the types of items we’re keeping safe but it’s definitely something to be aware of. I can’t really think of any negatives, perhaps the installation process, but that’s unavoidable for what it is, so that wouldn’t be fair to complain about. I’m sure it’s not the most difficult safe to break into, but they’re more of a deterrent rather than being bomb proof, and I think it’s more than sufficient, especially considering it can easily be covered with a picture, or even concealed behind a piece of furniture. Overall it turned out much better than I was expecting; it’s very full featured, the fingerprint reader works well and it’s easy to use having a key backup, and I think it’s a good value that I’d recommend.

Nice wall safe, well made!Nice wall safe, well made!

[Color: Black, Color: Black]
This is a really innovative idea for a safe. I like that it’s secured in the wall and has a fingerprint scanner, key and code optic for u locking. The safe is well made and very robust. The first one I received was damaged but it was easy to drop off at UPS with no cost to me and the replacement was in great working condition. I think if I ordered again I would have gotten the white safe to blend without white walls in the closet we installed in. Very happy with it for firearms protection from kids and nice to lockup valuable but keep close versus a big safe in the basement. Installation was a breeze and secured in well well. Very clean look as well.

Very heavy duty

[Color: Off White]
This cabinet is very heavy duty, just to install you need 2-3 people to hold it while inserting it into the wall. The Biometric lock worked perfectly and the backup key is a great piece of mind. Plenty of room inside for passports, keys, and other personal documents and the pegboard allows for firearms to be stored as well. Installation was easy, the main challenge was the weight of the safe itself.

Wall safe is a quality productWall safe is a quality product

[Color: Off White, Color: Off White]
The process of unboxing this told me in advance that it was a well made product. Rarely have I received anything so well packaged. And considering this is about 75 lbs, that is a significant statement. Anyway, this is a quality safe. It appears to be powder-coated throughout and is made from steel sheets of a good thickness. There are three compartments inside and two shelves. The shelves and pegboard can be removed with a small Phillips head screwdriver. There are also four sturdy metal hooks that fit the pegboard. The shelves and bottom also include a custom cut foam rubber piece for padding. On the door is a magnetic key holder tat can be moved to wherever is best. The entire thing is quite roomy. As the listing shows, it can handle a pistol or two and maybe a fireproof document pouch or two, as well. But the safe isn't fireproof, so keep that in mind. As for the locking mechanism and the biometrics, they seem to work fine. Add some AA batteries to the box inside the safe and you are good to go. I love that you have three ways to open it - combination, fingerprint or key. As well as an emergency way using the USB cable. The door opens smoothly and closes and locks perfectly. There's no handle, so it's just a flush panel there. Easy to cover with a large painting or mirror. The keyhole is hidden with a swivel cover that looks like a button. The box has 10 pre-drilled holes in it to be used for mounting. Two on the top and bottom and three on each side. Unfortunately, only four lag screws were included. Being that this is a stud-mounted safe, four lag screws might be enough to hold the weight if there is a support shelf added between the studs at the bottom. Otherwise, I would opt for more lag screws. I can see why it was packaged so carefully - it's a precision device that needs to be kept square for the door to work properly. I mean, the clearance on all sides of the door is minimal, which makes it virtually impossible to pry open. The included instructions are useful. All in all I think it is great. And a good value for the price.
