The bracket itself is very sturdy and well made. The steel construction feels substantial, the bottom tray provides good support, and once mounted, it holds the fire extinguisher securely in place.My one complaint is the strap system. It works, but I don't think it's particularly well designed for something you may need to release quickly. If there's a fire, the last thing I want to do is stand there negotiating with a stubborn buckle while things get increasingly exciting.I replaced the original strap with a heavy-duty Velcro strap. That gives me a secure hold during normal use while allowing me to grab the extinguisher and release it very quickly if it's ever needed.With that modification, I'm very happy with the holder. The bracket itself is excellent, solid, and well made. I just wish the manufacturer had given the quick-release portion of the design the same attention as the steelwork.

So the last thing you really want is a fire extinguisher sitting on the floor of your garage or utility room, shed, etc.This bracket seems well made and I have no doubt it could hold a 20lb extinguisher (I have 10 lb ones). Of course, you need to make sure you mount this securely to the wall. The supplied drywall anchors are throw-aways. If you have to mount this on drywall and you can't screw it directly into a stud, then get heavy duty drywall anchors or toggle bolts. Don't use the cheap anchors that come with this; they might be ok for a light photo frame but not for something like this. If you're mounting this on a concrete wall, get some good concrete anchors.Once you have it installed and your extinguisher secured in place, I'd cut off most of the excess on the straps so it's easier to remove the extinguisher in an emergency where every second can make a difference.

I've always been leery of using the little plastic mounts that come with fire extinguishers. Then along comes this thing. Made of steel and powder coat painted in black.It comes with two straps to ensure the fire extinguisher is well secured but quick and easy to remove in an emergency. It comes with some pretty serious mounting screws and inserts. To say the least, it's not coming off the wall easily, except in an emergency, simply squeeze the clips and it releases the fire extinguisher in a second.They put a lot effort into making this and it shows. The fact you can place any standard extinguisher up to 7" and of just about any height and being so solid means it will last longer than you extinguisher. That makes it a good investment.You do replace your extinguishers, right? It's recommended you replace them about every 10 years. The reason tends to be the powder inside compacts and loses efficiency even though you still show pressure, so be on the safe side.And you should have more than one in a house. Depending on the layout, 2-4 may be a good idea. Kitchen, garage, basement and master bedroom is what I prefer at a minimum.
