I have used these plugs for a total of about 2 hours and I can say they are very well built. I was able to wire up a VERY short extension for my welder to be able to reach each side of my garage and about 10ft outside of my garage door for safety when welding galvanized material. The plugs fit nice and tight on both the male and female side and were very easy to put together. I could not even find these in my local home stores so I can say there is a great value here for me.

Very cumbersome to assemble, the prongs were not attached to the plug. They were floating in slots, kept falling out during assembly. The plug was not a very professional unit. They worked but a pain to assemble

I needed an extension cord for my MIG welder and 240V compressor, and this matching NEMA 6-30P/6-50P male plug and 6-50R female receptacle set provided both ends in one package. These connectors can be difficult to match up locally, and buying the pair this way costs considerably less than purchasing a premade heavy-duty extension cord.The hard-plastic housings feel sturdy, fit together properly, and include effective cable clamps. The three finger holes are especially useful because high-amperage plugs can fit tightly, and the handles let you disconnect them without pulling on the cable or rocking the plug from side to side. The male plug can also be configured for either a 6-30 or 6-50 receptacle. ETL certification is reassuring for a connector intended for 240-volt equipment.I've done electrical work as a career, and opening the housings was simple for me. Still, it might be confusing for less experienced people because there is a third screw recessed between the prongs or slots that is easy to overlook. Once that screw is removed, the housings separate easily. More detailed instructions could be helpful.My main concern is the terminal design. The screws press directly against the stranded conductors and can spread the strands, making it difficult to use a ferrule with heavier 6-gauge cable. Careful preparation and tightening of the wire are important. The connection between the male and female fittings is also not as tight as some commercial-grade connectors I have used, although mine stayed connected during normal workshop use.Overall, this is a practical and reasonably priced set for a welder, compressor, planer, or other intermittent-duty 240-volt shop equipment. The finger grips are excellent, but I would prefer heavier terminals and a firmer receptacle connection before using it for a continuous load approaching the full 50-amp rating.

I need to make a short extension cord for my MIG welder, which has a 6-50P plug on it, so this EPLESFTON set of matching 6-50P and 6-50R fittings is perfect for that application. Like with any line voltage application, and especially one where you might be drawing up to 50 amps at 240V, I think having UL or ETL certification is key, and this set of fittings is indeed ETL listed, so that's reassuring.The quality of the fittings seems good. The molded plastic parts are very sturdy, and I appreciate the three finger loops built into both fittings to make it easier and safer to plug/unplug. The brass plugs and slots feel a little lighter gauge than some of the other high amperage/voltage fittings I've used in the past; I personally would feel more comfortable using these for 50A service if they were beefed up. I also don't love the design of the screw terminals for connecting the wires to the plugs/slots. The screw tightens directly onto the wire, which can cause the wire strands to shift, sliding out from under the screw, and yielding a less than secure connection, especially with high current and heat cycling of the connection. It's possible to avoid this by using a crimped ferrule on the end of the stranded wires, but a better screw terminal connection like is common on heavy-duty 14-50 receptacles would have eliminated this extra step and yielded a better product.Note that the instructions included don't explicitly say how to open these plugs to terminate the cable. I mistakenly thought there were only two screws (the one on either side of the cable opening) and had a heck of a time trying to open the two plug halves. There's actually a third screw in the center of the plug between the plug prongs/slots recessed in a deep hole so it's not as visible. Once I removed the third screw, the halves separated easily.Overall, I think this will work fine for my welder extension cord since it won't see sustained heavy amps, but I think I might look at other alternatives if this is going to see extended 50A loads such as with a Level 2 EV charger.
