Extremely heavy duty plug with easy to grab pull handle

[Color: Black, Number of Items: 1]
This is a very heavy duty industrial grade plug. I use this to make up a long extension cord for my welder. To maximize your power capacity. Sure to use 6 gauge wire. The plug is tough and very thick. The pull finger holes on the back of the plug make it very easy. To unplug it. Plug is priced very well. Definitely recommend it

So Far, So GoodSo Far, So Good

This plug is working out pretty well for me so far. I'm in the process of making a new 50 amp cord to use between our generator doghouse and the outlet on the back of our garage for power outages. We recently upgraded our generator and need a good safe 50 amp connection. The construction and overall quality of the connector look to be pretty good. The connector also has finger loops on the backside. That seems odd to me but I guess it will serve as a good solid grip point when we unplug the cord from the generator or garage outlet.

Good upgrade for my old welding extension cord

[Color: Black, Number of Items: 1]
This is a big improvement over my old plug for the extension cord for my welder. I had used a metal junction box with a receptacle which was floppy and heavy. This plug is light weight and the three finger pulls are handy to disconnect the pugs when you are done. My only minor gripe is that the rubber sleeve that clamps the wire in place is made for a larger diameter wire than the one I have. I had to put a few raps of electrical tape around the wire casing to increase its diameter so the clamp would hold it securely. Easy fix.Overall it’s a great plug and I’m very happy.

Light duty line receptacle for welder cordsLight duty line receptacle for welder cords

[Color: Black, Number of Items: 1, Color: Black, Number of Items: 1]
This cord receptacle will mate with a NEMA 6-50 plug, and is oriented for in-line connection with most male plugs. It will accept #6 wire (it takes copper only) but the space inside the body is very tight and a fine stranded SJ / SO type cord will be much better installed than heavier stranded cables. The prong assemblies are a light gauge of metal and while they will grab onto the prongs of a male plug, they do so with less force than other receptacles like this that I have used. Tightening screws into place on the terminals requires a careful application of torque because a little too much torque and the body of the prongs will deform. The body, when assembled, is held in place with three cross-head screws with two other screws for securing the cable jacket to the body. There is not much play in the cable restraint, so look for an outer jacket in the 3/4 inch plus or minus 1/8 inches. There is a benefit to the finger holds on the back of the body as it keeps your hand free of the mating area when working with setting a plug into the socket. For occasional use, it is a serviceable line cord receptacle but for regular shop use, it is on the light duty end of the spectrum.

Quality Connector with Molded Finger Grips!Quality Connector with Molded Finger Grips!

[Color: Black, Number of Items: 1, Color: Black, Number of Items: 1]
I ordered this receptacle along with the matching plug for a project where I needed to build an extension cord for my welder. The Amazon description was accurate, but I didn't read it closely enough to appreciate all of its features before ordering. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. One feature that immediately caught my attention was the three finger holes molded into the back of both the plug and receptacle. Anyone who has used a 50-amp connector knows they can sometimes be difficult to unplug. The finger holes provide an excellent grip and make connecting and disconnecting the cord much easier. It's a simple feature, but one I think I'll appreciate every time I use it.I haven't assembled the extension cord yet because I'm still waiting for the cable to arrive. From everything I've seen so far, though, these connectors appear to be well made and should work perfectly. The instructions are clear, easy to follow, and include helpful line drawings. They're printed in English on one side and French on the other.Inside the connector is a strain-relief clamp that accepts cable up to 6 AWG, 3-conductor. The flexible insert under the clamp should grip the cable securely without damaging the insulation, helping prevent the cord from being pulled out of the connector. The outer housing is made from a durable hard plastic that feels solid and well constructed.I'll be using these connectors on a welder extension cord, but they should work equally well for other compatible 220V, 240V, or 250V equipment. They're available in both black and yellow. I ordered one of each color, which makes it easy to identify the correct end of the extension cord at a glance.Overall, I'm impressed with the quality and design. Based on what I've seen so far, I would have no hesitation recommending these connectors to anyone building a new extension cord or replacing worn ends on an existing one.
