Description describes as being no “HEAVY DUTY” They are in no way heavy duty. However, once they are screwed into place on the decking rail they do feel a bit stronger. You definitely would not want children pushing or pulling on them, they bend very easily.

We first saw these on Amazon and thought they’d make a great addition to the deck project my husband is currently working on. Right now, he is in the middle of redoing our deck so it flows right into our pool area. Our current pool area has a very similar railing and gate to this, so my husband and I thought these would be a really nice match for our deck stair railings to tie the whole outdoor space together.When the delivery arrived, I tried to be helpful and bring the package into the garage myself. Wow. These are incredibly heavy for their size. I literally had to drag the box, and honestly, I only moved it about a foot before I gave up. I am so glad my husband was the one working with these because he had to take them the rest of the way.But honestly, that heavy weight is exactly when you know you bought the real deal—this is thick, solid metal, not that thin, under-quality stuff that bends if you look at it wrong. The material is rigid and solid, so it’s built to actually handle the weather out by the water without bending or warping.Putting them up is simple because each piece comes pre-drilled at the top and the bottom, so he could face-mount them right onto the wood stair stringers. They line up easily, and since the box comes with all the matching screws, he just zipped them right in and moved down the line without any frustration or running to the hardware store. Seeing them up makes me so proud of his work—the quality is stunning, the curve looks beautiful, and it's going to look amazing when the whole deck is finished.
