This is an excellent value for a heavy duty door striker plate. I have been needing a striker plate for the door in my bedroom & well....when I don't need a heavy duty plate for my bedroom door, I ordered this item & it works perfectly in place of the missing striker plate for my bedroom door that I personally had moved to my front door because I needed one immediately & did not want to leave my front door open to go looking for one a few months ago when the necessity occurred. This striker plate is thick & it looks and feels like it is heavy duty. The stainless steel is nice & heavy & thick. The installation was a breeze with the two included shorter bolts & now I can close my bedroom door & it will actually remain closed. This is striker plate is excellent quality & an excellent value for what it is & for all of the tools that are included in the kit. Definitely recommended. Photos are of my bedroom door before the installation and after this plate was installed & with the door secured closed once this was installed.

Very impressive quality. The plate is much thicker than the generic junk that most door sets ship with. Perfect for upgrading an entry door or adding additional security to an interior room. Very easy to install altho you may need to chisel out a bit of wood if your current latch plate was super thin to start with. For my entry door it was a direct replacement - perfect fit and function. They even go so far as to have wood dowels in the kit so you can fill and re-drill for an even more secure install.

What is there to say? This latch strike plate seems well made and is a great replacement for a basic builder grade plate. The stainless steel feels thick and sturdy, and the slightly larger opening can help if your latch is not lining up perfectly or the door sometimes sticks when closing. It fit my standard door strike opening without any issues.The best part is the included 3 inch screws, which go much deeper into the door frame than the short screws that usually come with a strike plate. That adds a little more security and makes this feel like a worthwhile upgrade. It also includes shorter screws, wood dowels for old or stripped holes, and a dust box, so you have useful extras if you need them. While this seems expensive for a single door strike plate, I think the price is justified with the quality and extras you get with it!

There are a lot of nice things to say about this door striker plate. The first thing you notice is that it comes with everything. It even has dowels to fill the holes, which I appreciated. This is a heavy duty striker and even comes with a dress up plate that presents a much better look than just the chiseled wood. The supplied screws are self tapping and use a Torx bit. The bit is supplied with the kit. If you have never replaced a striker plate before, it's quite simple and this kit will give you what you need. However, seek help if you feel you need it.

I used this strike plate as a replacement to accommodate a sagging door that needed a larger or lower catch area. This kit comes with extra materials - a dust box, wooden dowels, long screws, and a Torx bit - that I did not use. The dowels would be useful for drilling out and sealing old screw holes, but this wasn't necessary, as this strike plate perfectly aligned with existing holes from the old plate.My main installation problem was that the new strike plate did not have enough curvature to engage the door latch properly... I had to clamp the plate in a vise and do some serious hammering to improve the curvature. This plate is close to double the thickness of common home-grade plates, so it was very hard to bend using blows from a hand sledge. But the larger opening made all the difference and now my door latches properly.My only other issue is the plate edges are somewhat sharp from the stamping process. I'll need to file or sand down the exposed tongue so that no one gets cut or injured. My hammering marred the smooth metal finish a bit, but that is of no concern to me for this application.

This is a fantastic buy! It is a good quality heavy duty striker plate that is perfect for an exterior door where you need added security and has a tab to allow adjustment of the door latch.I love that this came with everything I needed to mount it as well as things I didn’t even think I would need. I opted to use the 3” screws because that makes me feel safer, if I were to use this on an internal door I would have used the smaller 1.5” screws. I also love that the screws came with a drill bit that fits them to use for installation and that it is Torx instead of the normal Phillips. The plate I removed before installing this was Phillips and was stripped from when it was installed, but I had no issue with stripping when I installed this. The kit also came with 3 different sized dowels to use to fill in the old hole so the new screws had something to bite into, normally I use toothpicks and wood glue but this was much faster and I easily cut them down to size with a box cutter.One thing to note is this is thicker than standard strike plates so as mentioned in the description you may need to chisel some of the trim down to have the needed clearance.If you are looking for a good heavy duty strike plate for a good value that has everything you need included, this is the one
