For $18, this set of pliers/cutters is more than a starter set. I found the build quality of the metal and the grips to be as good as any of the "C" brand I have owned. I like the thickness they used for the grips and cutting surfaces, including the long-nose pliers, which is always a concern if they are too thin and bendy. I cut a few solid core wires and found no marks left in the jaws, which leads me to believe the "high-carbon steel" and "heat treated" claims. I'm happy they didn't include the common plastic case, as those take up too much space and I end up throwing them away. Having been working on cars and around my home for over 50 years, I recommend these.
