I got this welding blanket to protect things around my shop while I'm welding, including vehicles, my fridge, and other nearby surfaces. It's especially useful when I'm working on something like removing a broken stud or bolt from a vehicle because I can cover the surrounding area and not have to worry as much about damaging the paint. There are definitely some things I like about this blanket. The built-in magnets hold well to metal surfaces, which makes positioning it really easy without having to use clamps. I also like that the silicone-coated surface is easy to clean compared with a traditional fabric welding blanket. The size is listed as 32 x 39 inches, although it looks larger in the listing photos than it does in person. My biggest issue is that I wish it were more heavy duty. It's not particularly thick, and while I think it's fine for general heat and spark protection, I would be hesitant to rely on it for heavier welding where it's going to be catching a lot of slag or larger sparks. I would prefer something with more substantial material for that kind of use.I also don't think it's a particularly good value. I compared it with another welding blanket I already own that is significantly thicker, about a foot longer and more than a foot wider, and it cost the exact same price. For that reason, I don't think I would purchase this one again.Overall, the magnets work well and the easy-to-clean surface is convenient, but I think the blanket should be thicker and larger for the price. Three stars from me.

I wanted to get this welding mat for my father because I thought it would be useful as an additional layer of protection while he’s welding. My father has been a paraplegic since I was a little girl, but even now that he’s in his 60s and uses a wheelchair, that hasn’t slowed him down much. He still welds and does all kinds of projects that plenty of people his age would never attempt, especially while dealing with a disability. One of the things I really liked about this mat is the magnets. They make it possible to secure the mat to the metal frame of his wheelchair, which gives him an additional way to position it where it can help protect him from sparks, splatter, and other debris while he’s welding. Since he doesn’t have feeling below his waist, he wouldn’t necessarily know if something hit or burned him, so having something that can provide an additional barrier is especially important to me.He has a really thick, canvas-like apron that I actually made for him back when I was in high school, and it has worked well over the years. Still, as a mother myself, my tendency to worry is pretty strong, and as he’s gotten older, I’ve found myself wanting to do whatever I can to help keep him protected while he insists on continuing to do things himself. When I saw this welding blanket with the magnetic attachment points, I thought it was definitely worth trying. It gives him another layer of protection without getting in the way of the projects he enjoys doing, and for me, anything that can help reduce the amount of worrying I do when he’s working is worth it. The peace of mind I received for just $20 is absolutely worth the price. And the magnetic factor makes it really easy to use.

I ordered this 39"x32" FLASLD Magnetic Welding Blanket for use as a compact welding protection where a larger blanket is not required. As welding blankets go, this does have double sided silicone coating effectively sealing in the fiberglass core which significantly reduces the itchiness and unintentional glitter from using traditional non-coated fiberglass blankets. The main drawback with this is one of its features. As anyone who works with metal and welding knows, magnets in the shop pick up ferrous metals, and the magnets on this welding blanket are no exception. It is somewhat easier to clean off with the blanket than a bare magnet. Just be aware if you are trying to stick this to painted or powdercoated surfaces as it could cause scratches.Overall this is a handy small sized coated welding blanket that seems to be well made, easy to use and is more durable than regular fiberglass blankets. I would say this is a good value for anyone who wants a portable option for protecting smaller areas.

This is a great welding blanket, especially considering the large 39 x 32-inch size for the price. It gives you plenty of coverage without costing a fortune. The material feels thick, durable, and well made. It doesn't feel like a thin piece of material that I would be concerned about using around welding work. For me, this is one of those items that is simply good to have around for safety. When welding, I want to be able to concentrate on doing a good job without constantly worrying about sparks and welding splatter getting onto nearby items or surfaces. Having a large protective blanket like this makes that much easier. The generous size also gives you more flexibility to cover or shield the surrounding work area depending on what you're welding.Overall, I'm very happy with it. It's thick, durable, provides a large amount of coverage, and is a great price for the size. It's a useful addition to my welding equipment and gives me some extra protection from sparks and splatter while I'm working.

This welding blanket worked great for exactly what I needed. I used it under the back seat of my side-by-side to help block heat from the engine coming into the cab, and it made a noticeable difference right away. Before installing it, you could really feel the heat building up under the seat and creeping into the cab, especially during longer rides. It would get pretty uncomfortable, and you could tell the heat was just radiating through that area. After putting this blanket in place, it significantly reduced how much heat was coming through. The cab stayed much more comfortable, even after running for a while. It acts as a solid barrier and does a great job deflecting that engine heat instead of letting it transfer through. The material feels very heavy-duty and well made. It holds its shape, stays in place, and gives you confidence it can handle high temperatures without any issues. The size worked well for coverage, and the magnetic feature is a nice bonus for keeping it positioned where you need it.Overall, this is a tough, effective heat shield that actually delivers real results. If you’re dealing with unwanted heat in a similar setup, this is a simple fix that works. Definitely a solid 5-star product.

The **FLASLD 39''x32'' Magnet Welding Blanket** is an absolute must-have for anyone doing plumbing, soldering, brazing, or light welding work. I picked this up to protect surrounding walls, pipes, and cabinetry while working with a torch, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way.### Powerful Built-in Magnets for Hands-Free SetupThe built-in magnets are a total game-changer. Instead of struggling with clamps, tape, or trying to awkwardly wedge a standard fire cloth behind copper pipes, this blanket securely snaps directly onto steel studs, iron pipes, metal framing, or vehicle bodies. The magnets are strong enough to hold the weight of the heavy-duty fabric flat against the surface, giving you full hands-free protection so you can focus entirely on your torch work.### Exceptional Heat & Flame Resistance* **No Scorching or Burn-Through:** The flame-resistant material handles direct torch heat, intense brazing flames, hot slag, and flying sparks without scorching, smoking, or degrading.* **Generous 39" x 32" Coverage:** The dimensions offer plenty of surface area coverage, protecting delicate drywall, insulation, wood framing, or painted surfaces behind your workspace.### Premium, Non-Scratchy ConstructionUnlike traditional cheap fiberglass blankets that leave your skin itchy and covered in fibers, this mat feels smooth, flexible, and cleanly finished around the stitched edges. It folds up neatly for storage in a toolbox or work van and unfolds without stiff creases. If you do any pipe soldering, HVAC brazing, or auto metalwork, this magnetic flame protector pays for itself on the very first job by preventing costly fire damage or wall scorch marks. Unbeatable quality, safety, and convenience—5 out of 5 stars!

I’ve been using this heat-resistant mat primarily when soldering copper plumbing inside walls, under sinks, and inside cabinets where protecting surrounding wood and finished surfaces is critical. It gives me a lot more confidence when working in tight spaces, and the large size makes it easy to position exactly where I need it. I’ve also used it for light welding projects around the shop with great results. The built-in magnets are a feature I didn’t realize I’d appreciate so much. When working around metal surfaces, they hold the mat in place so I don’t have to constantly reposition it or find another way to secure it. The material feels thick and durable, and the reinforced edges and stitching give it the feel of a product that’s built to last through repeated use.My packaging didn't contain any fiberglass stands that other users have reported, and to me it feels very high quality.Whether you’re doing plumbing, HVAC work, soldering, brazing, or occasional welding, this is a great piece of safety equipment to have on hand. It’s much easier to prevent accidental heat damage than to repair scorched cabinets or framing afterward, and this mat has quickly become a permanent addition to my toolbox. Highly recommended.

I wish we had this FLASLD 39''x32'' Magnetic Fire-Resistant Mat when we were welding a couple of steel bars onto the side of our cargo container. I didn’t know this would happen, but the sparks went flying and left marks on the paint. This mat would have been perfect for protecting the side of the container from heat, flame, and sparks. It’s made of silicone-coated woven fiberglass with reinforced hems. The mat can be folded for compact storage when not in use, but it’s quick and easy to set up when needed. This thick mat would be ideal for any job where sparks or molten metal could damage surfaces or create fire hazards. The strong embedded magnets let you place it vertically or even upside down. The mat is flexible enough to put on curved surfaces or around corners, and it can be easily re-positioned as you work. It would be great for automotive repair and bodywork, or plumbing pipe installation and repair. The mat that I received does not have any copper grommet holes like it says in the description.Even if you’re simply working on a small soldering job, this mat will protect your workbench. In addition, this fire-resistant mat can be used anywhere you want to shield something against heat, whether it’s from a space heater, hot stove, portable grill, direct sunlight, etc. The magnets stick tight to a welded wire mesh fence. Also, we have a steel door with a window in it that faces the full brunt of the blazing summer sun. I stuck this mat onto the outside and it blocks the heat better than a blackout shade!
