Worked pretty well. Kind of have to figure it out on your own. Limited instructions in the manual that is with it. I think the few rods it came with weren't good. Have ordered some new ones and hope that will help. Will see.

I wanted a welding machine works well for all my small hobby projects and this actually does the job. I was able to do some small repairs on things and learn from this machine. I made a ton of mistakes but this machine was easy to learn from especially for a first time user. It does not take too much time to learn how to use the device. The controls are pretty simple. I would say that you need to make sure that you have all the safety gear such as gloves and eye glasses which are provided. The glasses could be better as the welder and holding the piece down requires both hands so holding the mask to your face makes it a bit challenging. This thing burns bright and runs hot at the tip so you can be sure it does a good job welding. You do have to assemble the tip of the welder but it is not too hard to setup. The manual is helpful. Regardless it is still something that can hurt you so always be cautious. I do like weight of this. It is not too heavy and can be handled with one hand. It comes with a hard carrying case. It actually secures everything inside to keep it organized. I would say let the welder cool down before putting things away. The power cord is pretty thick and i always plug it into the wall directly if possible but that is more of a preference. The handle is nice to make it easy to handle. You can disassemble as needed to put it away and you can adjust the power as needed. It does take some practice to use but the fact it is simple makes it easier to learn for beginners like me. Although it is easy to handle, i would still be careful. The power cord is relativdly thick in material so you should not expect it to break or wear down overtime. The power cord is a good length so you get wiggle room. It is not too pricey for a portable welding machine but not much cheaper than the bigger welding machine with more power. Overall the device is very good to have for using to do small projects. It comes with accessories like gloves and a mask to protect you but i wish the mask was able to strap on rather than hold a handle to my face. I am happy with the performance of this and the build. It is a little heavy but still able to handle it with one hand. The settings are simple so it is user friendly this device is. It all feels very durable. The case is not bad and hard shell to keep it safe and easy to store. I would just let it cool down before storing it. As always use the safety gear as need.

I picked this up as my entry into welding for small repairs around the house and yard, and the complete kit approach is what makes it work for a first timer, the gloves, ground clamp, electrodes, brush and hard case all come in the box so I was striking my first arc the same afternoon instead of assembling accessories piecemeal. The variable current dial is the feature I use most, dialing it down for thin metal furniture repairs so I don’t blow holes through, then bumping it up for a heavier fence bracket, and the adjustment actually translates into visibly different behavior at the puddle. Arc starts are quick, way less frustrating than the scratching struggle I expected as a newbie, and the anti stick has bailed me out repeatedly when my beginner technique let the rod grab, it cuts power before the electrode welds itself down. The 120A output handles the light duty jobs it’s meant for, my repaired garden fence and reinforced shelf brackets are holding strong. It runs off a regular household outlet and the whole rig packs back into the case for shelf storage. Honest notes, this is a light duty machine, thick steel and long continuous sessions are beyond it, respect the duty cycle and let it rest. The included gloves and clamp are functional but basic, upgrades eventually. And you’ll still need to buy a helmet separately since none is included. For learning stick welding and handling small home and farm repairs, this has worked well for me and I’d recommend it.

This is a badass little welder for little projects and just having fun welding, I just taught my daughter how to stick weld, and she loved it and it performed perfectly. The gloves that came with it are not half bad they do the job, the electrodes that come with it are great for practice I was criticizing them at first but they do the job to get you dialed in to the welder and I did my own weld at work since it was a small project and that little welder came through that's why I give it a 5 star, im buying another next pay check for sure

Been a Welder , fabricator for years . This little unit works great very impressed, of course small things, 3/32’’ Rod 6011.80-100 amp but needs dedicated 20 amp breaker for it will pop breakers . Very light ,easy to move and very inexpensive. You need to get good dry Rod to achieve good looking welds and clean material. Good Buy
