Good size and weight for what I need. The dead blow hammer has a non marring surface for the most part. It does have a visible seam from the molding process but doesn't really protrude. Priced right for what it offers. It would have been great if the handle had some grip material. As is, the handle is a little slippery. A little rubber grip would do wonders for this hammer

This is a nice compact dead blow hammer for jobs where you need some persuasion without the rebound or surface damage you would get from a regular steel hammer.The 1 lb size is light enough to control easily but still has enough weight to be useful for woodworking, automotive work, tile, and general shop use. The shot filled head does a good job absorbing bounce, so the strike feels much more controlled and you are not wasting as much energy fighting the hammer coming back at you.I also like the steel core handle. It gives the hammer a much more solid feel than the inexpensive all plastic dead blows I have used before, and the molded exterior means you can hit finished surfaces without immediately worrying about leaving marks.The bright orange color is actually useful too. It is very easy to spot on a crowded workbench or when you inevitably set it down somewhere you swear you already checked.The handle could use a little more texture or a rubberized grip, especially if your hands are dirty or oily, but that is my only real complaint.Overall, this feels like a good middle ground between the really cheap dead blow hammers and the expensive professional ones. It is solid, controlled, and does exactly what I need a dead blow hammer to do.

This 1 lb dead blow hammer is a great way to effectively utilize a mallet without rebound, so you can focus all of the energy where it needs to be used the most. The weight is accurate at about 1 lb and the device does not rebound. The textured bright orange plastic is very comfortable to hold and provides for a firm grip. The size is accurate according to the listing and about the size of a typical hammer. The hammer functions very well to effectively administer Force and direct all of the energy into the strike versus recoil or reflection. Very well designed with good quality materials so that it will last for a very long time on the job site. Very sturdy and durable as you would expect from this type of device. Good value for the money to have a dead blow hammer that will not rebound and waste energy and force that is needed.

I was impressed over its sturdiness, durability, and quality as soon I lifted, examined, and immediately started to use this. The color is as sharp as the listing photos suggested, no more wondering where I set the hammer down, the bright, even, and colorful orange color helps me to spot it immediately. The material is a solid magnetic steel handle that feels even on every swing. It does not bounce back after the strike. It's a versatile hammer, for its size, allowing me to use on woodworking or a bit mechanical work when something needs a bit of persuasion. The material that covers the hammer is even, and aids in protecting this hammer, but not so for for slipping out of my hand. Since this is a lighter version, I have better control during its use. I can hear the beads in the head of the hammer, which is typical, the idea is that the beads aid in strikes, shifting from the back to the front on impact, reducing/eliminating the bounce back. There is no loss of control and very little sound is made. I did not see any care instructions, but a simple wipe down with a mild soap after every use I found best. I prefer to keep these types of hammers in a climate controlled environment to avoid condensation buildup within the chamber of the head, that has those beads, so as to avoid the beads rusting and clumping together. Is this perfect? Hmm, I have no major complaints but I think they should have added a silicone or leather grip of some sort as the [stinky] plastic is a tad slippery. Country of origin? Made in China. Does this have a brand name? Yes, even on the hammer, so it does not look so generic. Rating? When considering the cost, which I think is competitive, I opine having received good value - I rate this as a weak five (5) star. I have no idea if that plastic the encases the hammer is PVC, but it stinks like it, plus the wish for a leather or silicone handle to aid grip. [This does carry a small warning on the handle about inspecting this and wearing personal protective equipment during use, nothing that is sound advice.]

For starters... I love the color on this thing, it's actually a fire orange in person instead of that dull cheap traffic cone orange you see on alot of tools that instantly looks cheap. Yeahhhhh I know... who cares ...it's just a color ...but.. good lookin tools aren't a bad thing , especially when you're stuck picking between different brands it's usually the deciding factor and ya know it.Onto the hammer itself, this thing has a really nice blow.... they packed the shot in really tight and it sounds and feels to be using much smaller beads which I think is a good thing, using smaller diameter beads will always give you far less to near zero rebound (cause theres no big ball bearings bouncin backwards) and it puts all the energy into whatever you're trying to persuade into cooperation instead of into your hands and forearms like a maul or ball peen would.So this one's a good one for me, I've bought alot of cheap dead blows for shop use and I also have some pretty high end ones in my Do Not Touch toolbox ( I literally had an airbrush artist paint that in giant text across my tool boxes and cabinets😅) so I'd put this one somewhere in between the Harbor Freight 3/10 and the Matco 10/10 quality wise and rate this at a 5/10 definitely gets job done and does it well , but is lackin the rubber overmold grip and texturing the high ends have.The steel core is also a nice touch and gives it a much more solid feel than some of the cheap plastic handled ones I've used.... unlike like the harbor freights which are just a solid plastic handle (except their black rubber grip icons)Couldn't really think of a good test video so I just took some pics of a suspension install I'm doing on a custom banshee, also throwing a modified raptor motor in there, don't laugh at my welds I haven't cleaned em up yet...All in, this is a very good dead blow for the money and I'd definitely recommend it, good hammers cost money.....thats just how it goes and with these I think they're giving you a very well made one for the price point their aiming at hittin.
