These blades are sharp and the segments snap cleanly where they should. I've used this style of snap-off blade before, and these perform well for the kind of cutting where having a fresh section available is useful.At $12 for 50 blades, the price isn't the best for this type of disposable blade. Still, 50 gives a DIYer a pretty good supply without having to restock every time a blade gets dull.

This kit contains 5 packs of 10 blades. For most homeowners, more than you will ever need to cut up cardboard boxes. These blades are 18mm. Common knife sizes are 9mm, 18mm and 25mm, so you need to make sure these fit your carrier. Fortunately, they fit my cheap knife I picked up at Lowes.I like using these knives around the saltwater pool - opening chemicals or scraping debris as the blades can be easily swapped when they get rusty. As these blades are steel they will rust too, but I'm hoping the blackened steel will help them last a little longer. They are very sharp out of the box and for the quantity, cheaper to replace than buying a new knife for a dollar every time, even if the quality turns out to be the same.

My husband says these utility blades are a "good deal". He is using them in a box cutter (the colored metal and plastic kind that are found in hardware stores, not disposable). He already used his cutter with the new blade to cut up some boxes, and he says they are much better quality than the "low end" blades l I have in the kitchen drawer. He says he has confidence in the blade, that it won't chip and it doesn't wobble or bend.So, I would recommend them based on my husband's experience and his opinion that they are a good value.

These fit 18mm, supposedly "standard" size, but all I've ever had was 25mm. Blades look good. Don't have a box cutter to install them in.
