I’m now left with another set, which I can use to upgrade my neighbor’s gate, also in need of repair. The entire project took about half a day to complete, and at this price point, it’s a solid upgrade.

But the rest of it isn't, and it completely lacks any sort of horizontal brace or support (which isn't technically necessary for 3 foot fences, but it does aid in stabilizing any gate door design).The manual is clearly written with useful illustrations, but does not include any notes on load, capacity, or size.The main limitation is the hinge size -- at 3.5 x 1.5 inches, it does not cover enough surface area for larger fences, which require strap hinges or similar.On the bugle style (look like deck screws), they are #8 in thickness and measure 1 inch and 1.5 inches. When possible, I use thicker screws, longer screws, or ideally, through-bolts even on smaller fences,. But larger more durable fasteners would be absolutely essential for larger applications.On the bracket with integrated/welded hinge, I can easily flex it with just hand pressure.I think this is a really good deal for small gate doors only, such as for a 2.5 to 3 foot picket fence style door, but not a good fit at all for anything larger.

It comes with everything you need to prevent sagging and to create a working gate. This heavy duty hardware not only is very sturdy but also looks amazing and dresses up even a regular looking gate.
