Cordless Angle Grinder

I don’t own any DeWalt tools or batteries, but I still decided to pick up this grinder because the price and features looked good. Since it is designed for DeWalt 20V batteries, I also bought an adapter that allows me to use one of my Ryobi batteries with it. That combination has worked really well for me.The adapter gave me a simple way to add this grinder to my workshop without investing in a completely different battery system. The battery and adapter connected properly, and the grinder had plenty of power for the jobs I tried. I didn’t notice anything unusual about its operation when running it through the adapter.I also like having three speed settings instead of only a basic on-and-off control. It makes the grinder more useful for different types of work, whether I need a slower and more controlled speed or more power for a tougher job. The cordless design is also handy because I can grab it for a quick project without finding an outlet or dealing with an extension cord.Keep in mind that the battery is not included, so you will need either a compatible DeWalt battery or an adapter for another battery system. I can’t comment on how it performs with a genuine DeWalt battery because I don’t own one, but it has worked very well with my Ryobi battery and adapter. Overall, this was a practical way for me to add a cordless angle grinder to my workshop while continuing to use batteries I already had.

I ordered the DeWalt version of this grinder. This is a handy cordless angle grinder with 3 speeds. You get lots of parts, but not the battery. It's compatible with all of my De-walt 20V batteries. The grinder turns on like a champ. I like that it has a protective guard to protect against sparks. It does feel lightweight on its own, which means that it's quite unbalanced when I add a large battery to it. But that is not unusual for battery powered tools. The quality feels decent, certainly not as high quality as the branded counterpart, but for this price I would call it a good value. The power is determined by the size of battery you put in it, which a large one it was able to cut through everything I put it on. The size is easy to hold and tilt as needed, and small enough to fit into a storage tool bag. It's a versitile tool with lots of uses around my house and garage. I appreciate all the different cutting/grinding disks that are included.

I used this cordless angle grinder with my Milwaukee 18V battery, and it was convenient to be able to put an existing battery to work without buying into another charger system. The brushless motor has plenty of power for typical 4-1/2 inch grinder jobs, and I found the three speed settings useful for switching between cutting metal, cleaning up rough edges, and doing lighter surface work where more control is helpful. The included handle gives a steadier grip, and the guard is easy to position so sparks and debris are better directed away during use. I also like that it comes with several wheels, a wrench, screwdriver, and the basic accessories needed to get started right away, aside from the battery. Overall, this is a solid bare-tool option for someone already using Milwaukee 18V batteries and needing a portable grinder for garage, shop, or home repair projects.

5 amp hour battery lasted about 10 minutes. Stuck in another fully charged, same thing. Other than draining batteries it works. That’s what you get for a knock off.

I have used this grinder on a few different projects now, and it's been a solid addition to my tool collection. I already have several DeWalt 20V batteries, so being able to use those without buying another battery system was a big plus.The brushless motor has plenty of power for cutting and grinding metal, and the adjustable speed settings are nice when you need a little more control for polishing or lighter work. It feels comfortable in the hand, and the side handle makes it much easier to keep steady during longer jobs.I also liked that it came with multiple grinding and cutting wheels, so I was able to get started right out of the box. The safety guard is easy to install, and overall the grinder feels well-built for DIY projects and general shop use.It's not meant to replace a heavy-duty professional grinder that runs all day, but for home repairs, fabrication, and weekend projects, it performs really well. If you already own DeWalt 20V batteries, this is a convenient and good-value cordless angle grinder.

I have to review this in light of the current price, which is $59.99 or $53.99 with coupon. For that price I can't fault this tool too much. It works, it's easy to use, and it comes with 2 each grinding discs, flap discs, and cutoff wheels. No battery or charger is included but it worked fine with my knockoff Makita batteries.My first impression of this tool is that it doesn't sound great. You can tell the motor and gearbox aren't up to the standards of the more well known brands. That does give me some concerns about the quality and longevity.It is better suited for grinding or polishing than cutting. For cutting I tried it out on a piece of rebar and it repeatedly stalled.There are 2 ergonomic issues I noticed. First, the balance with the battery is fine in the grinding/sanding/polishing orientation. But when you turn the tool sideways for cutting the weight of the battery goes off center and it feels awkward. This is my first cordless angle grinder so I'm not really sure what the solution would be given the battery geometry. Second, the wheel guard is adjustable but it's held tight by a screw, so in practice it's tedious to adjust it. It's not like the quick adjustment I'm used to on my Metabo angle grinder for instance.It is a convenient tool for around the shop. It's quick to pick up and take wherever you need. And for the price it's a fair value.
