Keeping my RO system running at peak efficiency!Keeping my RO system running at peak efficiency!

[Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1), Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1)]
I used one of these filters for the first stage filtration in my reverse osmosis water filter setup from iSpring and it fit perfectly. This filter installed the same way the previous filter did, just by unscrewing the housing and putting in the new filter and hand tightening the housing. This is a pleated filter so it works better than one that is a spun filter. It being a one micron filter also means it will keep more "clogging" material out of the filters on down the line in the RO system, keeping them working longer and better. The other filters are also more expensive to replace than this one is, so I'm saving money by using this better first stage filter which is priced very well. You can see in the photos how dirty the old filter was when I replaced it, and that is after the water went through a whole house water filter.I really try to keep the water I drink and use to cook with as safe as I can, that's why I put this RO system in my house (it's actually installed in my basement and plumed to my sink saving space under the sink for other items) and this filter is helping me achieve this goal by filtering the incoming water down to one micron, keeping my water safe and delicious.

Did Not Decrease Our Water Pressure and Water Tastes Better

[Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1)]
We weren’t sure if these 1 micron whole house water filters would get clogged up quickly, as we have sulphur and minerals in our well water and have been using 5 micron filters. So we put one on and put it through its paces.Surprisingly, the water pressure actually seems a little better with this 1 micron filter than with the 5 micron filters. The 5 micron doesn’t filter out as much small mineral debris as the 1 micron filter, and having well water, we wondered about reduced pressure. But the water pressure is good. And the flavor of our water is better tasting. As my husband sometimes refers to ‘gamey’ tasting water when brushing his teeth. The 1 micron filter seems to have improved this.We think part of the reason we are able to use these small particle filtering 1 micron filters is due to the fact that they are pleated, making the flow better. We had been using the 5 micron for several reasons: we thought anything tighter would reduce the water pressure (1 micron did not), we thought our water was always going to taste gamey (with 1 micron it seems less so) and the 1 micron filters are generally more expensive - but hey maybe worth it.So we are pleasantly surprised that these work so well with our water situation and will more than likely order them again.

Well made and good performing pleated cartridges that are priced just okay.

[Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1)]
These are built for ease of use in the Pentek-style 'Big Blue' filter housing clones that have become ubiquitous in residential water purification systems, and on that count they fit and perform well when new, flawlessly and without issue. The 1-micron rate does not seem to impact their rate of flow in the under-sink system where I am using them, but with finer porosity cartridges that situation can quickly degrade if there isn't adequate upstream protection from being inundated with a large volume of bigger sediments. To avoid that I employ a series of upstream filters in front of this. Those upstream filters begin with a 10-micron melt blown cartridge before a 5-micron cartridge. These allow for easy user servicing since they all use the same Pentek-style housings and spanner.Previously I have been using PP melt blown cartridges in the 1-micron stage, and they have performed well enough, but I'm always looking for better value for the money without sacrificing durability. These cartridges appear to seal properly within the housing, but most quality built pleated filters are generally constructed with pleats that are shallower in depth than what these are, but since finer gradations around 1-micron tend to also suffer reduced flow rates as they load with debris, I thought, well maybe this is their design attempt to combat that tendency. The material is just as effective at removing sediments between 1-2 microns as the melt blown variety, and their rate of flow has initially been acceptable (as were the melt blown), so the test from here is to see just how much loading these can withstand before becoming saturated enough that they can no longer maintain their rate of flow. What I have seen with other weaker filter designs is that they will collapse or implode in on themselves if allowed to become fully saturated and unable to maintain a reasonable rate of flow, and at that point they are essentially useless, so I monitor pressure increases at each stage. Beginning new cartridge readings are recorded and then as the pressures climb with saturation the filter elements are sequentially replaced as needed. Due to the canister housings being completely opaque, that's the only way I have of monitoring mechanical filter conditions, so not exactly scientific, but as we get familiar with each filter medium it does make things a lot simpler to manage. I'll be monitoring these to see how long they hold up.The PP (polypropylene) that these are made of is a very tough material, so my hope is that these pleated elements will prove able to withstand a cleaning or two with a soft bristle brush and some forced back-washing. I normally use that process to extend the life (and hence improve the value) of other pleated cartridges, so hopefully these will prove to have that sort of compatibility. As currently priced these are just a fair to middling value for the money. The first of my other online suppliers (a supposed trade specific source that'll sell to anybody) that I checked was a dime less per unit on single cartridges with free shipping, so these need to drop a couple of bucks to make the cut.

1 micron solution to my drinking needs

[Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1)]
I have a tankless RO system and series of pre-filtering system. It consist of 10 micron sediment, 5 micron and 1 micron. All water will pass through to that filters before entering my RO machine. This 1 micro sediment is exactly what I need. I installed this filter next to my 5 micron sediment filter. If anything that was not filtered by my 5 micron then I still have 1 micron left that will continue to filter so no bigger size sediment can pass through. This is a pleated designed sediment filter in which the pleating structure provides larger filtration. This captures fine particles, sediment, rust producing crystal clear water. This is very well-constructed, more filtering surface area. This product has credential meaning has certification listed so I trust this filter. It’s made of Food Grade Material. Normally, This is compatible with my 10 inches filter housing. It fits perfectly. I replaced my filters every 6 months because it’s expensive but with this company that manufactures an affordable filter with quality now I plan to replaced it every quarter. Ensuring that I could get the best, the cleanest tasting water. Easy to install. Very straightforward. No fancy tools needed and no special skills needed. No professional plumber needed. Just DIY. Installed in minutes only.Overall, I’m happy to have a peace of mind drinking the best quality of water using this pleated filter.

Super fine 1 micron pleated version may have more surface area to prevent slower flow?Super fine ...

[Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1), Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1)]
I ordered these as an experiment to test for two uses 1)when topping off my pool water from our well water source. 2) using a submersible pump attached to a two stage filter then back into the pool to reduce mustard algae contamination. Our well water has caused huge struggles and rebalancing at the season startup and when having to add water to our pool mid season as the metals and contaminants interact with the chlorine and then the water turns brown and green. I use a three stage whole house water filter rig in my pool pump house well water source and have only used 20, 10 and 5 micron filters thus far which is a definite improvement but I am hopeful a 1 micron will help even more. These are a pleated design so I am hopeful they will not clog as easily as a solid design . I will try a 5 micron and 10 mingron reusable filter in front of it. I tried a submersible pump attached to a two stage whole house filter and then routed it back into the pool to catch micro mustard algae. I will try the same rig using these 1 micron filters. They fiit both of my systems well, no issues. If this works it will save TONS OF MONEY on chemicals AND frustration TIME in battling metals and mustard algae. The 4 pack is a great value.

Definitely caught more than our 10 microns did. I was impressed

[Style: 1 micron, Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1)]
I am extremely impressed with these PUREPLUS 1 Micron pleated sediment filters. I purchased the 4-pack as replacements for our whole-house water filtration system that draws from a lake, and they have performed exceptionally well.Performance on lake water:Our lake water is notoriously dirty with fine silt, sediment, and organic particles, especially after rain or during certain seasons. We normally run 10 or 20 micron filters, which last a decent amount of time but still let through a lot of finer debris. These 1 micron PUREPLUS filters are in a completely different league. They captured an enormous amount of ultra-fine particles that our coarser filters would have missed. The best evidence? They plugged up significantly faster than our standard 10-20 micron cartridges — and that’s exactly what I wanted to see. It proves these filters are doing their job thoroughly by trapping the smallest contaminants before they reach our plumbing, fixtures, or RO system.Fit and installation:These are perfect drop-in replacements for standard 10" x 2.5" housings (compatible with W50PE, WFPC3002, SPC-25-1050, FM-50-975, 801-50, WB-50W, etc.). They slid right into our existing filter housings with no modifications needed. Installation took just a few minutes — shut off the water, relieve pressure, unscrew the housing, swap the old filter for the new one, and tighten back up. No leaks, no fuss.Build quality:The pleated design gives them a high surface area, which helps them handle decent flow rates even as they load up with sediment. The blue end caps and sturdy construction feel high-quality. They’re clearly built for whole-house use and sediment-heavy well or lake water applications.Value:Getting four filters in a pack makes this a great value, especially since they’re working so effectively. Because they’re catching so much more than our old filters, we’ll probably change them a bit more frequently, but the superior protection they provide to our entire water system (and our reverse osmosis unit) is well worth it.If you have challenging source water like lake or well water with fine sediment, these 1 micron pleated filters are outstanding. They deliver noticeably cleaner water throughout the house and give you confidence that your system is well-protected. No added issue with taste at all, I might add. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely buy these again when we need the next set for finer screeningRating: ★★★★★

They fit my standard 10” x 2.5” filter housing perfectly, and installation was quick and hassle-free. The pleated design is a nice upgrade because it provides plenty of surface area to trap sediment while still maintaining good water flow. Since installing these filters, the water has looked noticeably cleaner, and they’ve done a great job capturing fine dirt, sand, rust, and other particles before they reach the rest of the plumbing. I also appreciate that these filters are well constructed. They feel sturdy, hold their shape during installation and removal, and don’t shed fibers or fall apart when they’re replaced. The 1-micron filtration offers excellent protection for downstream appliances and additional water filtration equipment. The four-pack is a great value since it keeps replacement filters on hand for future changes. Having extras ready makes routine maintenance much more convenient, and it’s nice not having to reorder every time it’s time for a filter swap. Overall, these are high-quality replacement filters that perform exactly as expected. They’re easy to install, provide excellent sediment filtration, maintain strong water flow, and offer outstanding value for the price. I’ll definitely continue purchasing these for my filtration system and would highly recommend them to anyone with a compatible whole-house or reverse osmosis setup.
