These are painted black and all surfaces have been painted well. There are no paint runs or blobs 9f paint and the metal is thoroughly coated. They look like they'll be relatively impervious to rain damage. The hinges and slide bar move easily and don't squeak. They each come with their own set of screws. The ones for the hinges are 7/8" long, and the ones for the slide bolt are 5/8" long. Obviously you can switch them out for something different if these don't work for you. You'll need your own tools to install them.
