Key Features

  • Time Saver: Solderless, crimpless, all you need is just a heat gun to finish the joint, much faster and easier than the old way
  • Fit for Confined and Narrow Spaces: Can be bent after connection and no need to crimp or solder in the confined area, just control the temperature via a heat gun
  • Waterproof and Seal Performance: There is two hot melt waterproof adhesive rings in each butt connector, which help it hold up better to moisture
  • High Temperature Proof in A Short Time: Use exclusive material in the butt connectors to avoid shrink tubing melting before solder ring

These are a great time saver

These are great. They are super easy to use and fast to install. The connection these make is surprisingly solid and durable. It holds stronger than I expected. The different sizes are convenient there is a fair amount of each size to handle most projects. The solder flows smoothly and the heat shrink tubing shrinks evenly. These are a must have for electronics projects and save a ton of time. These are also great for mobile applications where field repairs might be needed.Overall this is a good value and I can recommend it.

While I wouldn't trust this for high current applications, it works great for simple DC wiring like 12V or 24V. As a test case, I chose the power adapter for one of my Echo's which had been gnawed through by my cats. After choosing the appropriate size connector, I put everything in place and then used my hand-held heat gun to melt the solder and the heat-shrink. I was actually surprised at how well it worked and how easily I was able to get the solder to melt and wick into the stranded wires. One thing I would advice is heating the two sides of the splice first, to get it to lock into place, before you actually heat the solder in the center. I found this technique worked better and prevented it from pulling apart while working on it. After splicing it together, I tested it out, everything worked great again, and then sealed it up with some heatshrink over the entire splice. For simple repairs like this, it is way easier than having to dig out my soldering iron and hold everything in place while doing a direct solder splice. I am very pleased with this and thanks to it I have a working Echo again!

Improvement on other connectors

Heat shrink shrinks and the solder melts as you'd expect. You'll never use less secure methods again. This gives me peace of mind that I'll have secure connections.

Great for automotive work.

These are great for joining wiring together for automotive or miscellaneous projects around the shop or house. I would not use these on household wiring, but anything 12v is fair game. The heat shrink makes the joint waterproof and strong and is the only way to go to ensure the connections are not going to come apart or short out. They say to use a heat gun to melt the heat shrink but I also use a lighter.Because these have hot melt adhesive rings they are stronger than a crimp and shrink style. I really like these.

Work really well to butt connect wires and seal them against the elements.

Fantastic butt connectors. I use so many of these and this is my second set from the same manufacturer. Some things to keep in mind: Point your heat right on the solder connection in the center. If you get hot enough to soften the solder, it will automatically shrink the tubing...then you can finish up by gliding back and forth over the ends to get a really good seal. If you start on an end it will melt the end before the solder and you will actually just ruin one of the connectors before you get a good connection. I was able to melt these with a standard 18v battery powered heat gun. Also keep in mind that they will be quickly wiggly until the cool...so continue to hold the wires until it cools enough to solidify. I have also accidentally pulled them apart while the plastic was almost liquid so let them cool a little bit before letting go.If I REALLY want to make sure these are water tight I will actually put a thicker heat shrink on the wire before connecting with these and then after they are cooled I will slide that over the top of these and shrink that over these. I have not had one of those fail even when submerged.

Makes a connecting wires very easy and safe.

awesome multi-pack set of solder connectors to help you finish the job in pinch. These are for connecting wires and u use heat-gun so low temp solder melts while the shrinking jacket seals up the connection.. The pack come with different color and size adapters, a definitely something a electrician/handy man needs.

Fast and easy heat shrink wire connectorsFast and easy heat shrink wire connectors

These are very useful wire connectors for automotive and other low voltage applications. The connectors provide a quick and clean looking connection and are easy to use by just applying heat to finish the connection. The heat shrink tubing creates a water proof connection so outside applications are fine. The box comes with an ample supply of four different sizes. The box itself lacks any markings or description of the sizes so I printed out one of the images from the Amazon page and taped them to the inside cover of the box. The connections are fairly tight but you can pull them apart with a strong tug. Electrically they are fine. These are a good value if you are adding electrical stuff to your car or boat. I used some to extend 12V connections and lighting into the bed of my truck. Much cleaner and easier than taking out the soldering iron and electrical tape. The quantity will last me quite a while. Lost a star because it would have been nice to have to info on a card on the cover of the box.

Good for Emergency Repairs, Must Be Mindful of OverheatingGood for Emergency Repairs, Must Be Min...

These heat shrink seal connectors are useful for emergency repairs. They allow the splicing of two wires with the addition of some low-temperature solder to increase the conductivity and improve the connection once heated. In my testing, I found that while you can shrink the outer poly tubing with a simple lighter, the inner solder seal requires more delicate heating to get it to flow properly into the wires (and ensure a good connection). To achieve a good connection you absolutely MUST get the low-temperature solder to flow and wick into the wires you are splicing. The best way I've been able to achieve this in my shop is to use a heat gun set to medium heat.Overall, I wouldn't recommend these for long term permanent repairs. They work well if you're in a pinch and need a way to make a connection for repair purposes, but you need to be careful about adding heat and making sure the connection flows properly. The small ring of solder is almost insufficient to properly bond larger wires, so again, be mindful of your application (and the current it will carry).Overall, 4 stars, for specific applications. At 18 dollars, they will be good to have in our RV for unexpected fixes.
