V Shape LED Strip Channel Aluminum Profile 3.28ft with Diffuser 6Pack

I ordered these LED channels to create a unique project. I wanted to use a corner lighting around the edges of my pool table. I was worried that they might stick out too far and impede the pool balls. I was happy that they fit with no problems. The channel is a corner channel but it has a flat mounting surface for the LED strip to stick to. The diffuser curves a bit once it is installed on the channel and gives it a more dimensional look. I am ordering LEDs that are closer together so I dont have such a gap between hot spots. I plan to cut these to fit then put velcro on the back to secure them to the pool table edges.

I'm totally blind. I got both he U shaped ones and the 45 degree ones.Why is I wasn't for sure how the U shaped ones felt. First of all, the U shaped ones come in a small long package. All the parts are in the box. The U shaped ones basically the best way I can describe it! if you think of it lying flat on its back! Then you have an edge that sticks up about .5 of an inch on each side. The LED strip lays down into this. I would suggest pealing off the sticker on the LED Strip before putting it in the cavity after it is fully mounted then putting on the frosty cover if you want. Do to that shape of the U shaped ones; This directs the light more straight out. So as an example, if you place these on a wall by the ceiling, the light would shine more across the ceiling. In my thought giving you kind of indirect lighting. But at the same time, if you place these on a ceiling by a wall ware the light is shining down the wall! These will then light up the wall. Could be nice if you have your couch or whatever by the wall. This would make the room look different then the first way and could help you read something at night. Not that I can see; But by putting on the frosty covers will cut down the light in either way. I like using 4000K LED Strip lighting being I think this light the room the best to me as far as I feel.The 45 degree ones! They also come in a small long box with all the parts in it. The LED strip doesn't fit as far into the mount as the U shaped one. To me using a light detecter, it seme like you get more of the light out of it. Again, if you use the frosty covers that come in the box; This will cut down the light some and change the color too a little. The pick of my detector changed in tone a little. Same as above! You first put up the mount before you then peal of the tape on the strip before putting it on the angled part of the mount. Then you can put the LED cover on or not. These strips as the descriptions state, shine the light more out into the room.In either case! I think a person will be happy with them. I just wish I could get clear covers and not the frosty ones. Like I said, I can't see! But I would like the room to have the color temp as I want.In both cases when installing these! some of the hardest part was just putting the mounts up at the correct distance and getting them to be lined up. In my case, the first mount clip was the easiest! Then I put the first end of the LED holder in it; Then I put the 2nd clip on the far end of the holder about half way on it. This then allowed me to feel ware to put the whole for the screw; Remove the holder put the clip on the wall; Then put the holder in place. Then they also allowed me to put the next holder on the clip and help me line it up too. Then I just cept repeating the process. Now in saying the above! When I got to the corner! Then cutting these things for me; Wasn't easy! These are kind of flimsy. So you really need to not put much presser on them when cutting or you can bend them. The U shaped ones to me were harder than the 45 degree ones. By doing the above; You could end of with one clip left over providing you are going in a straight run. Otherwise; If you have a lot of corners, you may need more clips. So what I'm saying, think about what you want to do first before starting. Myself, I like having two clips basically per holder. But I guess for something short like a few inches; You could place the clip in the middle like near a corner. Seme to work for me. Now only time will tell how well the LED Strip stays stuck up into each of the two types of holders. I'm only guessing, the more run time that you have the lights on at one time, the warmer they will get and the less sticky the tape will be. I'm also guessing, if you use the covers; This can also help hold in some of the heat from the LED Strips. But at the same time, keep the LED Strip from falling out of the holder if the stickiness becomes unstuck! LOL. Oh! Also why I put them on the wall and not the ceiling! Is this away, I didn’t need to cut the LED Strip and then have someone help me put in L shaped joiners. This away, I could just bend the strip kind of curbed to go around the corner. I only have the holders just touching so it gives me a little area to have the curbed in it. The U shaped ones in this case was the easiest, the 45 degree ones not so well for me!In my case, being weird like I am! I put the U shaped ones on the wall by the ceiling, then put the angled ones just below it. This away using a smart home plugs, I can turn off and on the lighting affect I want. This then gives me at least 3 different options. People who have seen what I did! are shocked being they really have an hard time trying to imaging how something will look when it is done. They like how it changes the room at night.

These LED strip enclosures are awesome, and the fact that these are provided in both white and black diffuser options is great. While you do lose a bit of brightness through the diffuser in the latter case, that adds a positive character to these in several use cases, in my opinion. With low LED/m strips, you get a fairly unique "marquee light" effect, whereas with high LED/m strips can still "overpower" the darkening effect to provide reasonable illumination with CCT colors. I would not recommend the black diffuser if your intent is to illuminate an area with purely RGB LEDs or using non-CCT colors.One thing I will note is that depending on your preferred LED strip technology, you may not be able to fit your desired LED strip inside this channel. The 10mm max width is limiting, given the propagation of 6-pin RGBCCT lights, high density SMD5050 RGBIC strips, etc. If your LED tape ambitions haven't evolved in the past decade, these will probably work great. If you're trying to get fancy, measure closely and perform a test fit before you cut. Ask me how I learned that lesson 🙃The front cover can either be slid on or snapped on. The former is more "guaranteed" but is the more tedious and laborious process. The latter is still quite easy, but it can be a game of whack a mole for a bit as one side decides to try and pop loose as you press the other into the retention groove. I settled on the latter, and found that if you align both sides at one end and press down and "inward" with both thumbs, you can run your thumbs across the length of it and it will pretty easily "snap" into place without having to fight either side. Another quick tip - the small cavity behind the angled plate for the LED - you can run wiring through there! Great for injecting power mid-span or whatever else you may need to do with a couple 20 AWG or thinner conductors. Given that the entire channel is aluminum, you will want to ensure that you take appropriate precautions against short circuiting or exposed conductors - depending on your tape's design you may also need to apply some manner of dielectric atop the back side copper solder terminals at each cut point, but this will have more to do with the quality and type of backing adhesive on your LED strip and isn't particularly an "issue" with this product so much as a necessary compromise to realize the much longer list of positives for using aluminum over plastic in such an enclosure.Aside from the narrow LED surface, I like these quite a lot. I do think the pricing is a little bit absurd, given that you're effectively paying almost $5/meter for the world's thinnest aluminum extrusion and a bit of curved plastic. I imagine a fair amount of the cost goes to the expense of transporting these products in the chosen packaging, which likely could have been significantly reduced if the seller had opted for flat rectangular boxes rather than the selected square box which is too small to accommodate its own shipping label on any one side. I'm not grading too harshly on this criteria, however I would certainly encourage you to evaluate the current price options prior to purchase. Compared to other diffuser options on the market, this one still easily ranks as my favorite for combining both sleek look, seamless corner/edge mounting, color options, and ease of installation.

I am adding some LED strip lights to dark areas of machinery in my workshop. I have multiple wireless LED undercabinet lights now but the constant recharging is a pain and they all have to be turned on and off individually. LED strip lights are an obvious solution, but I do not like the harsh glare that would be hitting me in the eye as I worked. I saw these aluminum V channels with diffusers and immediately recognized the possibilities. I used some glue-on magnets to attach them to the metal sides of my CNC, installed some strip lights inside, and now I have bright, diffused light everywhere it is needed. All the lights come on with a single switch and they never need recharging. These diffusers not only spread the light evenly and eliminate the harsh glare, but also shed the sawdust and dirt to keep the LEDs clean. I just vacuum them off with a horsehair brush when a job is done. They are the perfect solution for my unique use case. They are rugged enough to endure the harsh machining environment, so I'd venture to say they are durable enough to work under a kitchen cabinet. These are clearly a 5-star product.
