Creeper Wheels Replacement

These 2.5 inch replacement wheels worked well on an older mechanic creeper that had started dragging and rattling across the shop floor. Installation was straightforward with the M10 threaded stems, and all six casters swiveled freely once tightened down.On smooth concrete, the roller blade style rubber wheels roll much easier than the small hard plastic casters commonly supplied with creepers and shop stools. Moving underneath a vehicle takes less effort, especially when changing direction or pushing sideways with a shoulder or foot. They also stay much quieter when rolling across expansion joints and small imperfections in the concrete.The 360 degree swivel action is smooth and helps keep the creeper from fighting against movement. After spending time underneath a vehicle doing suspension and exhaust work, the wheels continued turning freely without developing the rough, jerky feel that basic plastic casters sometimes get after picking up dirt and debris.The rubber tread also provides a nicer balance between grip and easy movement. Hard nylon wheels can feel harsh and transmit every small bump through the creeper frame, while these soften the ride without feeling sluggish.For a six wheel set, the value is good if the existing creeper frame is still solid. The M8 x 20mm threaded stems fit properly, and all six wheels installed without much trouble.Once installed, the creeper rolled much more smoothly across sealed concrete, especially when moving sideways under a vehicle. The wheels swivel freely through 360 degrees and do not make the rattling or scraping sounds that harder plastic creeper wheels often develop. They also handled small expansion joints better than the original narrow casters.The roller blade style wheels have a softer rolling surface than the basic plastic casters found on many shop stools and creepers. Similar replacement wheels with hard polyurethane or plastic tread tend to transmit more vibration through the frame and can feel rough when the floor has small debris on it. These absorb some of that vibration and feel more controlled when repositioning under a car.The six wheel set is also a good value since it allows every caster to be replaced at once instead of mixing new wheels with worn originals. Well made set of stem casters. Used these to replace the chewed up hard plastic wheels on an older mechanics seat. Bearings are nice and tight with minimal slop. Supplied hardware gives you some options depending on what your needs are. Supplied open end wrench is fairly weak, so have a set of metric tappet wrenches handy or some kind of cheap'o wrench you can grind down if you intend to use the integrated hex on the bottom of the stem as a hold back for tightening the top hardware. The wheels themselves are kind of in the middle I think. Not hard yet not too soft. They should last a long time on smooth surfaces, but time will tell on rough concrete. If anything, my biggest complaint would be the price. At nearly $30 you could buy larger casters and it's enough to make you search for an alternative or think about investing in new equipment instead of just the casters. Again, these are kind of in the middle and much like the myriad of other "skate wheel" casters being sold out there for thousands of generic products.

They fit good plenty of bolts for different applications overall great wheels

Bought these for my Grant's Compact Detail seat from Harbor Freight it fit them perfectly, they are basically identical to the ones the cart came with and they come with everything in the package for the install, they were very easy to install. Hopefully these lasts longer than the one that came with the seat.
