Different speeds are much quieter than AC fans.The fan is very adorable and very rugged, built to take a beating. It has a built-in memory sensor for the light temperatures. You set the light to a specific brightness, so it remembers it the next time you turn it on.And of course, the nicest thing about this light is that it has both a remote control and an app control. My friends who own Airbnbs always get excited when they hear about app controls because they frequently lose remotes to guests who accidentally take them home, leaving them in a difficult bind trying to replace a fan remote, which is hard to do. No one‘s made really universal fan remotes as they have for television remotes. But the Airbnb host likes the idea that they can leave a laminated sheet of information about how to install the app and a QR code for the user to scan to put the app on their phone; they can control the light and the fan with their own iPhone or Android phone and don’t need an app to do it. Don’t need a remote to do it.The manufacturer says installation is supposed to be easy. I always recommend professional installation for fans only because I’m very conscious of safety and the risk of personal injury with most electrical fixtures you install yourself. The only person really at risk is the installer, but with a fan, other people who might be sleeping under a fan are at risk if something goes wrong and the fan comes loose, and God forbid. It comes loose at high speed with someone sleeping underneath it. It could cause bodily injury. That’s why I’d rather have a professional do it, because they’re going to use the proper type of junction box. Most junction boxes aren’t designed to support a fan unless they were previously installed to do so.One nice thing about fans is that they save you money and usually pay for themselves in a couple of years. You may say, how do they do that? They do that because, in most homes, the thermostat is located midway between the floor and the ceiling, and in the wintertime, the hot air gravitates toward the ceiling; hot air rises. The fan blows hot air down to the lower area of the room, equalizing the temperature and causing the thermostat to shut off more quickly. In the summer, the opposite happens: the central air-conditioning system is pumping cold air, which gravitates to the floor. The fan is pulling air up toward the ceiling before it falls back down, which causes the thermostat to shut off more often. Every time you get the thermostat to shut off more quickly, you’ve made your saved money thisThis is a beautiful fan, and you’ll get many years of good use of this fan, and it may pay for itself in the first couple of years.

I’ve never hated assembling something more than I did this fan. Good grief! It was absolutely horrible. Instructions are very unclear at times. And the fan blades were so difficult to put onto the body. I think I swore at this more than anything else ever. And once I put it onto my ceiling, I couldn’t get the fan part to work initially.That being said, once I removed the fan and fixed the wires again, it fired up just fine. It works on all six speeds, and can honestly go pretty fast. I kind wish the slower speeds were even slower still. I don’t like that the LED defaults to cold white. I like warmer. I also wish the dimmest setting was dimmer. Those are fairly minor gripes. This is a good fan. It just pissed me off putting it together. I also wish it had a physical on/off switch instead of only remote and app.
