I use my little rotary pen for all kinds of stuff that I should really get a dremel for, and I thought these would be the next addition to my arsenal. They're good quality (thick and heavy with a smooth finish to the metal), but a lot bigger than I expected, particularly the hole for the axle. I have an adapter axel that works with other dremel bits, so I thought the hole would be standard. It's way bigger than the big adapter that works with my pen, so I can't use them until I get a proper dremel.

I tested the wood carving disc and one of the rasps included with this set on a dried oak log, and results were mixed. What I didn’t like is the pace. Material removal is slower than I wanted on this oak. Fine for shaping and cleaning a face, not great if you need to hog off a lot of wood. Worth noting: my grinder was cutting in and out during testing, but that was due to my battery acting up, not the disc itself — I probably should have swapped batteries to rule that out entirely. On the plus side, the disc showed minimal wear after this initial use (see photo). I can't speak to how it'll hold up over extended use on tough, dried hardwood like this oak, but I'd expect it to perform noticeably better on softer woods like pine. The rasp I tried was also a bit slow for my needs — it's a finer rasp than I typically prefer, so the cutting action felt gradual. That said, a finer rasp definitely has its place depending on the finish you're going for, so this may suit your needs better than mine.Bottom line: This is a reasonable value set for occasional woodworking. If you only need these tools now and then, they should serve you fine. But if you're planning on doing a lot of carving or rasp work, especially on hardwoods, I'd recommend investing in a higher-end set instead — the slower cutting speed adds up over serious use.

I’ve been eyeing this carving disc for a while, and I’m glad I finally ordered it. The moment I put it on my grinder and started shaping wood, I knew it was a good buy. It cuts fast and clean, and it doesn’t fight you or bounce around the way lower quality discs do. The carbon steel feels solid — you can tell it’s not going to deform or wear out after a couple of projects. I used it on a few different materials just to see how it behaved, and it handled hardwood, softer woods, and even some particleboard without choking or dragging. What I really liked was the control. Some discs grab too aggressively and make you feel like you’re wrestling the grinder. This one stays steady. It lets you carve, shape, and smooth without sudden jumps, which makes a big difference when you’re working on curved or angled surfaces. The anti‑bounce design actually works — I didn’t get that scary kickback you sometimes get with rougher discs. It fits my 4‑inch grinder perfectly, no wobble, no weird vibration. Once I got the feel for it, I was able to move through material quickly and cleanly. For anyone who does woodworking, DIY shaping, or even quick prototyping, this disc is a strong performer. I’m very pleased with it, and it’s going straight into my regular rotation.I hope you found my review helpful 🤗

I am no wood worker, im more of a metal fab guy.. so i feel pretty comfortable with these compared to other wood tools. My shed door frame does a lot of shifting from winter to summer, so last winter I used a wood chisel to remove some material from the frame to make a little more clearance for the door, and lets just say the end result was less then visually pleasing. Well I went over my work with these wheels to clean up my hack job and looks so much better
