I got this item mostly because I'm trying to do my own cabinetry while I rebuild my kitchen and bathroom. And I found this saw to be exceptionally light and manageable, then I found it was good for use on thin plywood and veneer. To match I made veneer strips from the plywood I was using.The only drawback I found isn't really a drawback, it's just a limitation, it's got a cut depth of just 1 3/4" or so. The motor is strong and responsive, I had to cut into a 2x4 and start to twist the saw for it to start bogging down.You're going to find so many uses for this, about anything you dreaded pulling out the full size saw, because your material was so small, you'll even forgive the fact that it's corded.Would I buy this again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

This saw kit has a number of positives working for it. The shoe is cast metal, not stamped, and is able to keep the blade true in orientation to the work material. It has a rip fence of ordinary quality. The dust hose will connect to many shop vacs but some may need a reducer adapter. There is a fine and a rough blade included. The blade is fixed with a hex bolt and a wrench is included. It is important to note that the bolt is left-handed or counter-clockwise tightens it. The motor is above average for this tool class in terms of power and you can mild soft woods as well as harder woods like rot-treated southern yellow pine and white oak. The cord is flexiable and not prone to kinking and it has a holder for the allen wrench molded onto it. The plug is two-pin, polarized. It is well balanced and easy to manuever in tight spaces.

The handshake design is comfortable to use and small enough to easily maneuver. I'd definitely recommend it. For the price and ease of use...
