[Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet, Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
The MC cable has a sturdy overall construction, with the aluminum armor providing good protection around the insulated copper conductors and ground wire. The solid copper conductors feel substantial, and the cable has the kind of heavy-duty construction expected for electrical installations where additional physical protection is needed. The armor is flexible enough to work with while still providing more protection than standard unarmored cable. Installation is fairly straightforward with the appropriate MC connectors and fittings, although the armored construction does take a little more effort to work with than regular cable. The included straps are also convenient for securing the cable during installation. The cable has a clean, professional appearance, and the 50-foot length is useful for larger projects without requiring multiple shorter sections. The 12/2 configuration with a ground conductor makes it suitable for a variety of compatible branch-circuit applications. For the price, the length and construction provide reasonable value. The UL-listed components and 600V rating are reassuring features, although installation should always follow applicable electrical codes and be done by someone qualified to handle the work. Overall, this is a practical option when you need protected 12/2 wiring for an appropriate electrical project.

Great quality cable at half the cost

[Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
The quality of this cable is excellent. The 12 AWG wire is made of solid copper, able to handle up to 30 amps of current, if properly terminated. The metal sheath is built from an aluminum alloy, making it lightweight yet durable and highly resistant to corrosion. That metallic armor is also surprisingly flexible, allowing this to be worked around a fairly tight radius (< 1/2 foot). The product is UL-listed. Individual wires are encased in a nylon jacket over PVC insulation. This cable is very easy to work with, either with specialty tools or normal tools you might have around the house. If you haven't priced copper in awhile, you might be surprised to learn that the current price of $63 for 50' of 12/2 is an exceptional value, priced a bit cheaper than the equivalent product in Romex. In fact, it is priced lower than 25' of 12/2 MC cable at the big box stores, so you get more than twice as much for the money.

Quality indoor MC 12/2 cable!Quality indoor MC 12/2 cable!

[Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet, Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
Nice manageable length 50-foot roll of quality aluminum alloy clad PVC jacketed MC 12/2 cable, with solid copper wires for interior use. This is not suitable for wet locations or direct burial but eliminates the need to pull through interior PVC or EMT conduit sparing that extra time and expense. At a $1.20 per foot, you won’t find a better value for the money with the same quality cable usually offered at 2 bucks a foot and over. You could go cheap with unpackaged jacketless MC cable with stranded wire where the cladding unwraps or splits on you, but why? This cable offers good strength flexible cladding that is easy to cut and manipulate. I am using this to bring power to an attic gable vent fan on a dedicated 20-amp circuit and switch. Very good, UL certified cable that makes my project easier.

Two conductor with insulated groundTwo conductor with insulated ground

[Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet, Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
This metal clad cable seems good quality. Value-wise it doesn't really stand out. You can get the same from a major brand with certifications for the same price if not maybe a bit less. The metal sheathing is reasonably flexible, I would say a radius of 5-6 inches. It was simple to cut without a specialized tool, twist apart and snip with end cutters. The internal barrier is plastic and seems like a continuous tube. The wire is typical 12 gauge solid copper. Two conductor plus the insulated ground, black, white, and green. The wire insulation is the stuff with a clear plastic coating, which I don't necessarily prefer. The pack of 10 included cable straps is a nice extra, though for 50 feet you would probably need more in most cases, as well as bushings, clamps, etc. This cable is made in China.

Handy pack size for MC cableHandy pack size for MC cable

[Set name: 14AWG-3C, Cable Length: 50 Feet, Set name: 14AWG-3C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
This is metal clad # 14-3 cable with ground. The ground is insulated and the same gauge as the current carrying conductor. The color code is standard US domestic wiring. The conductors are solid copper. The coil comes with a pack of cable straps for attaching to wood studs. The UL listing is important if you are doing a job that will be permit inspected. I only stripped the jacket down enough to make up the whip tails, but I did not see THHN markings on the conductors, or any running marks. For some inspectors, that may be a bone of contention. I found the cable well made with a cellophane wrapper on the conductors. This is a cost effective way to get a small coil of MC cable for installing something an extra light in a suspended ceiling. This is for locations rated as "dry."

Quality MC Cable at a Great ValueQuality MC Cable at a Great Value

[Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet, Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
I ordered this 50-foot roll of 12/2 MC cable for several electrical projects and have been very impressed with the quality. The conductors are single-strand solid copper wire, which is exactly what I was expecting for this type of installation. The cable feels well-made throughout and appears comparable to much more expensive big-box store alternatives. One thing I immediately noticed is how easily the aluminum metal cladding flexes. It bends smoothly around corners and routing obstacles without feeling overly stiff, making installation easier than some MC cable I've worked with in the past. The armor also strips cleanly with the proper tools.Another nice surprise is that the package includes the necessary clamps, which saves time and eliminates the need to purchase additional accessories before getting started. From a safety standpoint, this cable includes the appropriate ratings and certifications for confidence during installation. Having a properly listed and rated product is important, and this cable checks those boxes.Overall, this is an affordable, high-quality MC cable that provides an excellent alternative to many of the higher-priced brands found at home improvement stores. If you're looking for 12/2 metal clad wire for HVAC equipment, commercial lighting, workshop wiring, or general electrical projects, this is a great value and an easy 5-star recommendation.

Easy to Work With and a Good Value for 12/2 MC Cable

[Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
I got the 50-foot roll of this 12/2 MC cable to rewire our pump house. Since the interior walls aren't finished with drywall, I needed a code-compliant wiring method, and MC cable is a much simpler solution than installing metal conduit and pulling individual wires through it.Overall, I'm very happy with the quality. The aluminum armor is sturdy but still easy to cut and manage during installation, and the THHN insulation is good quality and strips cleanly without nicking the conductors. Everything feels well made, and I had no concerns about the construction of the cable itself. One thing I really appreciated was that it came with mounting clamps. They're inexpensive accessories, but having them included saves an extra trip to the hardware store and makes installation more convenient. As with any MC cable, you'll still need the proper connectors where the cable enters electrical boxes, along with anti-short bushings (or connectors with built-in bushings). The cut aluminum armor can be very sharp, so using the correct fittings is important to protect the conductors and ensure a proper installation. That's not a drawback of this product—just something installers should keep in mind.Considering current copper prices, I think this is reasonably priced and offers excellent value. It was easy to work with, appears to be manufactured well, and made my installation much quicker than running conduit. I'd definitely buy this cable again for future projects.

Far better value than name brand and decent enough for some uses.Far better value than name brand...

[Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet, Set name: 12AWG-2C, Cable Length: 50 Feet]
On the bench today, I’ve got some 12/2 MC Cable 50FT, 12 AWG Metal Clad Wire with Ground | Solid Bare Copper THHN, UL Listed 600V 12 Gauge Aluminum Armor Cable for HVAC & Commercial Lighting, NM-B AlternativeThere isn’t a whole lot for me to say about this cable. It’s solid copper 12/2 wire with a ground. The jackets are very easy to cut off the wire and might be some of the easiest I’ve ever dealt with. Which might be a bad thing in some environments. I barely touched it with a pretty dull utility knife and it split the jacket like nothing.I haven’t had much any experience with metal clad wire so I can’t really comment on that part of it other than the end of the metal seems to have been cut a bit as you can see in my picture. The UL info listed does at least come back to a Qingdao cable company for MC cable so it might actually be correct there.Overall, I think it’s a slightly above average value in the $68 range from the time of my order for 50’ of MC cable. It’s far cheaper than name brand cable and depending on your use case, it might be plenty good for you. I see it’s gone down a decent bit between the time of my order and when I wrote my review.
