Great bench addition!

[Color: Black, Size: Large]
Great quality, very strong springs and magnets. The light arm is stiff and stays in place. Soldering made easy.

Good helping hands with nice clamps...Good helping hands with nice clamps...

[Color: Black, Size: Large, Color: Black, Size: Large]
The metal base is nice and thick. Magnets stick well to it and it does a good job holding things firmly to your work area. The size is pretty small, but should work accommodate most typical PCBs. I really like the clamps. They are good quality and good for holding PCB-type things or wiring. The magnifier light is a welcome addition if you don't already have a microscope though the gooseneck can be finicky to position. It doesn't come with a power supply so you'll need your own. The value is OK considering the nice quality clamps and addition of the magnifier.

Way better than the old "ball joint" style helping hands you've used in the past!

[Color: Black, Size: Large]
I ordered this Helping Hands set to replace an old fashioned "ball joint/alligator clip" model. This set is a huge improvement over my old one! The heavy, solid metal base provides a work surface that doesn't move. The magnetic board/wire clamps stay right where you put them, and they don't fall over because strong magnets hold them in place. There are no ball joints to constantly reposition, just solid clamps that hold tight toyour board or wire. Nothing falls over, nothing slips out of position, everything just stays right where you need it so you can get your work done. The versatile clamps hold boards and wire equally well, and the two sizes of clamps provide flexibility for whatever you need to hold in place. The magnetic lamp/magnifying glass puts light right where you need it and does a nice job of magnifying those tiny parts that you really have trouble seeing. The light has brightness and color temperature controls. My only gripe is that it doesn't come with a USB "A" power adapter that's needed to power it, so you'll have to source one of those on your own. This is a good value for the money; it's well built and solid. The magnets that attach everything to the base are strong, so no slipping. If you're still using that old set of helping hands with wing nuts and ball joints, it's time for an upgrade. Once you try this set, you'll never reach for that old one again.

A great no-frills kit (mine came messy though)A great no-frills kit (mine came messy though)

[Color: Black, Size: Large, Color: Black, Size: Large]
I've been pretty pleased with other Noevsbig tool kits like this, and this is a good one too. I like the combination here: just a no-frills setup with their spring clamps which I really like, and their LED magnifier which when I first tested it in other kits kinda actually sold me on that a magnifier could be worth setting up and using.Their spring clamps have been real handy with past kits and these are the same high-quality ones with nicely machined pieces, and fairly strong springs, and sturdy-but-gentle plastic/rubber grabbers. Good for boards as they show but I've actually found them useful for butt splices on wires! Less fussing with angling articulated alligator clips in just the right way and instead you just work each wire until its right and get it done 🎊Only reason this one isn't 5 stars like the others is that mine came this time with a sticky mess at the base of the magnifying glass. I'm still not sure what it is/was — spilled soda in the factory? Epoxy that didn't get mixed with enough hardener? It wasn't water soluble and it didn't even come off that well with goo-gone and although most of it's now dealt with there's still kind of a residue. So that's a bummer for my set but hopefully just an unlucky fluke. None of my other sets from them had an issue like that.

A solid and outstanding soldering stationA solid and outstanding soldering station

[Color: Black, Size: Large, Color: Black, Size: Large]
I needed a new helping hands soldering station as we couldn't find my last one after our house move.My old one wasn't magnetic and just had 4 alligator clips on the end of the arms, it kind of worked but it had a lot to be desired.I went looking on Amazon for a new one as I have a bunch of display cabinet wires I needed to solder.I saw this Noevsbig magnetic soldering station and it looked like it would fit my needs perfectly. It arrived fairly quicklyIt's a lot heavier than it looks, which is a good thing. With the rubber feet attached, it doesn't move around at all.It comes with 4 magnetic clamps. The magnets are very strong. The clamps are great, one side of the clamp has a pointed, needle nose like clamp. The other side, has a wider clamp similar to a gator jaw. Both hold my wires firmly in place. The magnifying light is a major added bonus. I'm getting older and my eyes aren't what they used to be so the magnifier really helps. The light is outstanding. You can change the light temperature/color, the brightness or have it just off if you don't need it. The magnet on the light is very strong, I can bend the light into any position and it doesn't fall over. The light has a USB cord but no power supply is included, which for me, wasn't a big deal. I have a ton of USB plugs from so many cell phones, I had plenty to spare. Not only have I used this for soldering, I've also used it for my hobby models and RC vehicles. Works for so many projects where you need a pair of "helping hands".The price is a bit higher than some of the cheaper stations but they didn't have a light and the appeared to be less weight, so you do get what you pay for.

Love the clamps!Love the clamps!

[Color: Black, Size: Large, Color: Black, Size: Large]
I already had a set of "helping hands", so why did I order the NOEVSBIG Magnetic Helping Hands Soldering Station Clamp Metal with 5X Magnifying Lamp"? Well, it certainly isn't the brand name as I've never heard of NOVESBIG before. No, I ordered this for several reasons. First, the magnetic PCB clamps are a slick and secure way to hold a board without moving, something neither the stalk-mounted alligator clips nor the little posts with spikes can accomplish. Second, my eyes are getting bad and the 5X 3" magnifier on this is better in every way than the small 3X 2.25" magnifier that came with my helping hands. And finally, at $45 (current price on Amazon) the price of this kit is less than it'd cost me to upgrade my current kit by buying the pieces separately, and it comes with a larger 7x11" base as a bonus! The clamps are really slick - they're 2.5" tall open evenly to a little under a half inch. Each clamp has a set of flat-clamp style jaws on one side and a set of plastic dipped gripper jaws on the other. The jaws open easily by pressing down on the top, and when closed hold the work securely about 2" above the plate. The flat jaws even have horizontal grooves to hold wires in place! The magnifier is nice too. It's USB powered with a 3 1/8" glass lens, 5X magnification, adjustable color temperature (3K to 6K), variable brightness, and a toggle function to change between two different sets of settings. All in all it's a fantastic upgrade.
