I’m really happy with this drain snake. The 25 foot length is especially useful because it gives you plenty of reach for clogs that are farther down the drain instead of only being able to clear whatever is sitting close to the opening.It feels sturdy and is easy to feed into the drain. I really like having a tool that can physically grab and remove hair and other buildup rather than immediately reaching for harsh drain chemicals. It does a great job of getting into areas that are impossible to reach by hand.The included accessories are also a nice addition and make the set more versatile for different types of clogs and drains around the house. Everything is straightforward to use, even if you don’t have much experience with drain cleaning tools.This works great and is definitely worth keeping around the house. It can save a lot of frustration when dealing with a slow or clogged drain and is something I’ll be glad to have available the next time I need it.

Having just bought my first house, I'm finding I need all kinds of tools to be able to affordably handle issues myself rather than shell out big bucks for the professionals every time something goes wrong. I try to be mindful about my long hair in the shower (and everywhere else,) but sometimes the strands escape me and clogs can happen. No one likes a slow drain. I had the much shorter plastic snakes, but they just can't cut it when the problem runs deeper. These are old pipes and I don't want to pour chemicals down them if I don't absolutely have to. This snake took care of the shower drain beautifully, but today I gave it a bigger challenge and ran it down the pipe by the laundry tub in the basement. I've been having some trouble with water coming up when I do laundry and I was curious if there was a problem in the pipes. The snake got stuck a few times, but I followed the printed instructions and was able to continue snaking the pipe. I finally pulled up the tiniest bit of what looked like seaweed, (unlikely in the burbs, but who knows,) but ultimately determined the problem isn't within 25 feet of the washer drain pipe. Getting the snake where it needed to be felt easy enough and a bit satisfying. Washing, drying and oiling the snake is way less fun, but I do think it will last a good while if it is properly cared for. It just gets tedious feeding the snake back in. I haven't tried using a drill; that might make it was better. I was grateful for the rubber gloves during the entire process. I didn't know what might be down there, but I knew I didn't want to touch it!Anyway, this isn't as heavy duty as what a plumber would probably bring out, but for the price it is an excellent place to start!

The 25-foot cable gives me enough reach for most sink and shower clogs, and the drill adapter is convenient when I don’t want to crank it by hand. It did pull out a decent amount of hair. Since there’s no auto feed or retract, handling the cable can get awkward and messy. It works, but takes some patience.

A drain snake is a tool that every homeowner should have on hand, because you never know when that critical mass of hair or other stuff will clog your shower or sink, and the last thing you want is to have to call a plumber. With some work, you can use this drain snake to clear lighter/smaller clogs just fine, as long as they're up to 25ft from the point of entry. For my house, I've never encountered a clog that required more than 25ft, but that does not mean it can't happen. My main issue with this particular product is that it feels light duty. The casing is made from cheap plastic (even the expensive ones are made of plastic but they feel sturdy - this one does not), but perhaps the most annoying thing is the set screw that prevents the "snake" from retracting. In most models of drain snakes I've used, it's more like a switch that you just have to flip - easy and fast. In this case, it's a screw with a tiny "butterfly" that you have to turn. When opening a clog I sometimes use this feature 20+ times. It will get old REAL quick with this one. If you're on a budget and don't mind working a bit harder and getting a lower quality tool, at $20, this will do just fine. But if you can spend a bit more, I recommend getting a more serious tool for the job, and it will likely last you longer than this one.

I ordered this 25-foot drain auger to clear stubborn clogs that standard plungers and chemical cleaners could not fix. The flexible spring steel cable easily cleared a hair clog located ten feet past a trap inside the wall. It works well on pipes sized from 1-1/4" to 3". It successfully cleared a tough blockage in my 1-1/4" bathroom sink. The protective plastic drum keeps dirty cables off your floors. The unit also features a comfortable ergonomic grip and includes useful extras like gloves and a manual. The overall construction feels somewhat cheap. The thumb screw housing is loose and feels like it might fall off over time with regular use. This drain auger offers solid value for the price and gets the job down when chemical cleaners fail. However, the loose thumb screw housing prevents a full five-star rating.

Like any homeowner, I occasionally need a drain snake. I had wanted one for a long time and felt this offered the right combination of length and simplicity for my purposes.It’s surprisingly lightweight but effective. I’m sure it isn’t the heaviest-duty option available, but it suits my needs.The 25-foot length is more than adequate. It also includes a pair of gloves.I tried it on a slow shower drain that I suspected was clogged with hair. Using it was not difficult. I fed the cable down the drain until I reached resistance, turned the hand crank a few times, and fed the cable back into the drum.The cable moved smoothly both going out and returning to the drum, with no issues with tangling. It removed a shockingly large hair clog, and the shower now drains better than it has in years.For under $20, this is something every homeowner should have on hand. It’s far better than anything I’ve tried in the past.

I mean, this is basically one of those "it is what it is" products. 😂 When you need a drain snake, you NEED a drain snake, and having one already on hand can save a lot of frustration.This one feels sturdy and substantial, and I think the 25-foot length is plenty for most of the everyday clogs we would encounter around the house. You simply feed it through the drain to clear the clog and roll the cable back up when you're finished. Nothing fancy, but it does what it's supposed to do.I also really appreciated that it came with gloves because let's be real...this job can be DISGUSTING. 😂 That's a small addition, but definitely one I'm glad they included.There are longer drain snakes available if you need something for a bigger job, but for typical household sinks, showers and drains, 25 feet seems like a really useful length. It's one of those tools you may not think about until you need it, and I'd much rather already have one waiting in the garage than realize I need one after the drain is clogged!
