I’m still not sure how I feel about the design of this light, but I’m using it in a more residential setting where we have drop ceilings in one of our roommate houses, so I’m judging it a little differently than I would in an office or commercial space.That said, the thing I really care about is that it got rid of the buzzing noise. That was important to me. There’s nothing more annoying than walking into a room and hearing that constant electrical hum coming from an old fluorescent fixture, especially in a bedroom or shared living space.The LED upgrade makes a noticeable difference. The light is much cleaner and brighter than the older fixtures we were replacing, and I like having the flexibility of different wattages and color temperatures. Being able to choose the warmth of the light is particularly nice in a residential setting because I don’t necessarily want every room to feel like an office or classroom.Installation was straightforward for a drop ceiling, and having a 2-pack was convenient because I was able to replace multiple fixtures at once and get a more consistent look throughout the space.The center basket design is definitely more commercial looking, and I’m not convinced it’s the prettiest fixture for a house. If I were designing a home from scratch, I might choose something more decorative. But in this particular application, functionality won.For a roommate house, durability and reliability matter more to me than having a fancy light fixture. These are areas that get a lot of daily use, and eliminating the buzzing while improving the lighting was a worthwhile upgrade.Overall, I’d say this is more of a practical workhorse than a beautiful design piece. It may look more at home in an office, school, or commercial building, but for my particular situation, it solved a problem I wanted solved. Quiet, bright, adjustable, and a significant improvement over the old buzzing fluorescent fixtures. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

The fixture has a real commercial feel to it. I put one in a drop ceiling in a small office room where an older fluorescent troffer had been buzzing, and the standard 2x4 size made the swap pretty straightforward.The housing feels sturdy when handling it, with a rigid frame and a diffuser that sits flat. The center basket looks clean once it is in the grid, and it looks better in person than the product photos made it seem. The light spread is even across the room without a harsh strip of glare in the middle.The selectable wattage and color temperature are genuinely useful. I set it at a middle wattage and a neutral white color for desk work. Being able to adjust both settings before finalizing the install gives some room to tune it for the space. The 0 to 10V dimming worked properly with the dimmer setup I used, so brightness control was smooth.ETL listing is good to see on a fixture like this. For a business install, I would rather have that than guess on compliance. It feels commercial grade.

I really like these Troffer lights. If you don't know, Troffer lights are similar to flat panel LED lights, but instead of being flat, they have more texture, more pizzazz. The lighted portion is in a curved dome in the center of the panel as opposed to a flat panel light where the light is evenly dispersed along the entire panel. It tends to add a bit more style to your ceiling lighting. These are designed to be mounted into a drop ceiling. They are the perfect replacement for old fashioned fluorescent lighting but are much more energy efficient decreasing your energy bill significantly. Installation is simple. Remove old fixture, mount new one. The color temp is selectable in five different colors as is the brightness. The brightness can be selected either by a switch on the panel or is variably adjustable with a 0–10-volt dimmer. These are far superior to fluorescents in every possible way.
