I'm a fan of Wells Lamont brand, and these gloves live up to the reputation.The full leather palm and fingertips are soft yet durable. The stitching seems quite secure.Trying these gloves on. I will say they seem to be a little small comparatively, but not so much that they're uncomfortable. The inside lining is soft as a baby duck, and these gloves are quite warm. What I like most about them is there's three layers of "snugging the glove up" for a good fit; there's a nylon friction pull at the wrist, a velcro tab as a secondary closure, and finally bungee pull/keeper at the very top. Not only will this help keep the cold air out, but these are great for when I'll be using my snow blower and keeping the snow from blowing down inside my glove.

I started using Wells Lamont gloves last year and have had the chance to try several different styles. So far, the quality has been consistently good, and these winter work gloves are no exception. They feel underpriced for what you get.The construction is solid, the stitching looks clean, and the materials feel heavy and premium. I normally wear a large glove, and the large fit me well here. The sizing also feels consistent with the other Wells Lamont gloves I’ve used.These are a little tighter in the fingers because of the insulation, but I still have a decent range of movement. The cuff feels good, and the palms are thick and durable. The leather on the palm has a rougher nap to it, which gives it more of a work glove feel than a smooth dress leather feel.The backs look more like a traditional winter ski glove, but the material feels like a sturdy nylon canvas. I still need more cold weather time with them, but based on the build quality and fit, I’m excited to have these going into winter.

I just unboxed these Wells Lamont Style 894 gloves and haven’t had a chance to test them in actual winter weather or snow yet, but my first impression is that they feel incredibly solid and heavy-duty. The goatskin leather palm feels thick and durable, and the deerskin and cotton blend on the back gives them a classic, old-school work glove look rather than the sleek, modern design of typical sports gear. Just trying them on indoors, you can definitely feel the thick layer of Thinsulate insulation inside, which makes them feel like they are going to be very warm once the temperature drops.They're thin but they also feel adequately insulated if that makes sense... and they do feel a bit stiff and bulky right out of the box. My fingers don't have a ton of dexterity yet, so I think it is going to take some time to really break the leather in before I can easily grab smaller items or fiddle with zippers. The wrist cuff has an adjustable hook-and-loop strap that cinches down nicely, which seems like it will do a great job of keeping out cold wind and stray snow once I actually get them out on a driveway or a ski slope.The built-in waterproof liner is something I am really eager to test, since nothing ruins a winter day faster than soggy hands, but for now, they are just sitting with my winter gear waiting for the first real storm. There is also a little plastic clip to keep the pair connected so one doesn't go missing in the closet, which is a nice touch, even if the plastic feels a little flimsy compared to how tough the rest of the glove is. Got these Wells Lamont gloves for snow duty. Clearing the driveway, I'd rather have a leather palm than a soft winter glove, because the soft ones fall apart once you're pushing, lifting, and scraping. The catch is always the warmth. Work gloves are tough but cold.These keep the leather palm and add some insulation. I can grip a shovel, work tool controls, pick up small stuff, same as a regular work glove. The insulation doesn't cost you any dexterity.This weekend I tried them out trimming in the yard. My fingers were warmer than usual, never to the point of being uncomfortable. I wonder if any of the cars driving by knew I had insulated winter work gloves on in June.I got Large like I always do. They run a touch smaller than my usual work gloves, maybe the insulation, maybe they need to break in. The exception is that index finger, which is a hair long. None of it bothered me, and I wouldn't size up to XL for my next pair.There was some loose fuzz on the gloves out of the bag, gone after the first wear.For shoveling and snowblowing, a real step up from a plain leather work glove. I'll get them again.

We've owned a number of Wells Lamont gloves over the years, so we were glad to see this pair. The workmanship is exactly what we've come to expect from the brand, with clean stitching, a soft goatskin palm, reinforced wear areas, padded knuckles, and secure wrist and cuff closures. The leather is supple right out of the package rather than stiff.I ordered a Large, which is a size that normally fits both of us, but these fit more snug than expected. They still allow good hand movement, but there isn't enough extra room for the glove liners we normally wear while skiing. Not a downside, just not our preference for the use of these gloves.So, although these are marketed as ski gloves, we think they are better suited as insulated cold-weather work gloves. As experienced skiers, we prefer warmer gloves with room for liners during long days on the slopes. For outdoor chores, snow removal, tractor work, or general winter use, however, these appear to be well-made, durable gloves that should serve very well.
