This welder is approachable if you’re new to stick welding.The controls are straightforward with the LCD and 5 current settings, and the handheld design is less intimidating than a full-size machine.Weight is manageable for a portable unit, durability feels decent for the price, and heating/arc start is reasonably quick.Value for money is good for occasional DIY projects and repairs.Good for entry-level portable welder.

Works great as a portable or quick repair welder for jobs on the go with an inverter or at home or shop with a regular 120v outlet.Included gloves, arc face shield, and hammer/wire brush are a little better than nothing, but the lenses do work for occasional or quick use if you do not have dedicated safety equipment.Power switch on the front makes it easy to turn off, and built-in LED light comes in handy in darker areas.The fan may seem loud, but it is quieter than a full size welder, but being closer to the fan may make the sound exaggerated.Carrying storage case is great as it protects it and keeps everything organized and welder ready to go.Never used a stick welder before, so first weld was hideous, but after satisfied that metal cracked bracket was joined and a hump was created I tried to bend the broken bracket, I was surprised and how quick it was to understand the principle of stick welding, simply put you make contact with the grounded area being repaired and as the arc is created the arc allows the rod and material to melt.Bond feels strong and hasn’t broken off. I could have ground it off and made it pretty, but I had to install the blower motor bracket and get some cool air.Size is portable and light enough to use anywhere.Settings are simple, turn on and adjust voltage between thresholds of 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.2 mm rods.Value is great as having a welder may be expensive and cumbersome, but this is a budget device that can do the job quickly and no equipment movement is needed.

I picked up this portable welder because I wanted something that was easier for me to handle. My husband has some very nice professional welding equipment, and while I can use it whenever I want, it's larger and more than I need for practicing or taking on smaller projects. This handheld unit seemed like a better fit, and it has been.One of the biggest advantages is how portable it is. It's lightweight enough to carry wherever I'm working, and since it runs on 110V, I don't have to worry about having access to specialized power. The controls are straightforward, and the LCD display makes it easy to see what setting you're using. As someone who is still learning, I appreciated that it wasn't intimidating to get started.I also had my husband try it out since he has years of welding experience and is much more qualified to judge its performance. He was impressed with how well it worked for a portable unit and felt it performed as expected for the size and intended use. It's obviously not meant to replace a full-size professional machine for heavy-duty jobs, but for repairs, DIY projects, and learning to weld, it does a surprisingly good job.If you're looking for a compact welder that's easy to transport and simple to use, this is a solid option. It's been a great addition to our shop and gives me the independence to practice without dragging out the larger equipment every time.

For lighter spot welding this is such a handy little thing. While it’s not over the top in settings, it’s got quite a bit of power out of the box for very much lighter welding work, definitely not buildings, but smaller metal frame work, jewelry pieces, some fast plumbing repairs maybe, fun yard sculptures to practice on, prop building that requires a sturdy enough metal frame. But not extremely serious welding. There’s a lot of versatility with this thing. It’s fairly easy to setup and follow instructions. Along with messing around with the settings, safely of course! Though personally I’d get the other welding masks and actual welding grade gloves, the welding mask feels a little cheap. But for beginners and something small with enough power for small projects, this is a good start into welding. It’s also not super heavy, about the weight of a standard heavy duty power hand drill.

Ordered this for the hubbies hobby projects.The welder has some great features, including the digital display and led lights, and the amps can be adjusted, for different projects.The handheld welder is very portable with a handgun style design, and comes with a carry case gloves and protective gear.The cons are the gloves and the goggles. These are not welder gloves. Luckily we have a pair of real welder gloves already.Overall the machine does a decent weld for simple hobby things but I wouldn’t necessarily use it for heavy machine welding.
