I ordered this 50‑count pack intending to use them on our bronze metal roof. The product itself is sturdy and well‑made, but two issues kept me from using them.First, the listing is confusing about the sealant. The 100‑pack includes the glue, but the 50‑pack does not, and that wasn’t clear until after the fact. Since these caps require sealant to function, that’s an important detail buyers need upfront.Second, the finish is a bright stainless steel. On a bronze roof, the contrast is extremely noticeable — too shiny and too silver — so aesthetically it wasn’t a match for our panels.Because of the missing sealant and the color mismatch, I didn’t install them. They may work fine for someone with a silver or galvalume roof, but they weren’t suitable for ours.Just within the last week, I had repairs made to our metal roof. During an F1 tornado, a large shagbark hickory tree fell on our roof causing extensive damage. One thing I noticed was that several screws were beginning to back out of the metal. I attributed this to the extreme heat of the sun in our subtropical South Georgia Climate, but it could also be from the multi-ton tree impact vibration. If this was heat or vibration related, these caps would also keep aging screws from backing themselves out of the metal over time, because once the cap is sealed in place, the screw head is fully encapsulated and can’t vibrate loose.

We have several outbuildings that have the screws right through the face of the metal roofing. The original screws do have a gasket to keep the building sealed but over the years, those gaskets start to deteriorate, especially in the mid-south heat and sun and we were looking for something help keep those screws from leaking over the coming years without having to replace all the screws and/or seals. These caps are a great way to preventatively keep the roof from leaking. These do not include any kind of glue or sealer but we have found that just using a small bead of silicone caulk worked perfectly to install these over the screws. Originally we started using them as-is but I think we are going to paint them a dark brown color going forward so the blend in a little better with the current roof color. Overall, we are very happy with these to help keep our buildings sealed up and protected from water leaks for years to come.

Have an old screen room whose roof has seen better days. It sprung a number of leaks over the years. Annoying drips when it rains.Picked these up to cover some leaky screws. Going to put a few patches on the roof as well and will use these to cover those screws too.Just apply some silicone sealant and put them in place. Being stainless, should resist rusting for a long while.

They're really easy to use, and they work great - exactly how they're supposed to. These screw caps are the perfect size to fit over many different kinds of screws. They're a good weight, strong, durable, and protective too. Overall, I think they're very well made, well designed, and high quality - worth the price. I'd definitely recommend them!

I think I just need a few, but these tend to come in big packages. I have another style, but opted to get these also because these have a smaller diameter and are a simpler desing.These look like they were stamped from sheet metal and its just a simple circle with a half dome raised in the middle of it. There are no grooves or crevices. The surface is smooth and shiny and these are clean and free of deformation, dirt, debris or residues.I was expecting it to come with the glue, much of the reason I ordered it, but now I see that the glue only comes with the 100 pieces and I chose the 50. Bummer. Now I need to figure out what adhesive to get and procure some so I can attach these to our metal roof that leaks sometimes when its raining.

These caps are the solution to my argument against metal roofs.When metal roofs are secured in place, they use screws that have a soft pad already on the screw that prevents rain water from entering the screw hole and into your home.The little known problem is that eventually that little soft pad will dry rot and stop doing its job. When that happens you have rain water entering around those pads. Major problem.But these caps are the solution to that problem.You can put them over the screw heads when the soft pads stop doing their job. And these caps won't dry rot. They're made of stainless steel!
