Oh wow, this thing is light. I’m building a chicken coop and specifically needed a latch with padlock holes so I could secure it with a carabiner. With raccoons around, that extra step is pretty much a must.Installation was easy and the latch itself is simple to use. The only thing throwing me off is how lightweight the aluminum feels. I’m used to steel hardware, and that extra weight always gave me a little more confidence that something wasn’t going to pry its way in. That may be entirely in my head though, since this feels sturdy enough once installed.So far it does exactly what I needed, and being able to clip a carabiner through the latch makes it much more useful for a coop than a basic gate latch.

Works great! Not a lot of thinking here. This latch come with all the hardware and what appear to be an allen wren h but its actually a pin for the lock holes.My gate sides are close, so I had to install at the shortest setting. I also turned the latch side a bit so the arm only opens to about 2 o'clock. Looks good, strong enough for a secure yard. You do need a pin placed in the lock holes or else someone can easily slide a narrow stick or screwdriver betweennthe gates and lift the latch up.

This gate latch is simple but really well made. The matte black finish looks great on my fence, and the aluminum construction feels sturdy while also being lightweight and resistant to rust.Installation was quick and straightforward, and I really like having the padlock hole for an extra level of security. The latch opens and closes smoothly and keeps the gate securely shut.Overall, a great replacement or upgrade for a wooden fence, barn, or garden gate. I ordered this to install on the inside of my rear swing-out van doors. It is attractive, heavy, thick metal that adjusts far enough toward the center of each door to give me a safe place to drill and attach. Installing on automotive metal, I used my own hardware to install this. The lock mechanism is extremely smooth to operate and stable. That door will not budge with the lock in place, but a child could operate it from the inside (assuming there's no padlock in it) in the event of a fire and evacuation.

This 9-inch flip gate latch worked perfectly for the Dutch door on my chicken house. I’ve had a hard time finding something strong enough to securely keep the top and bottom doors together, especially when I want to open them as one door. We also get plenty of wind, so I needed something that wasn’t going to feel flimsy or let the doors separate.This latch has been exactly what I needed. It feels well made and sturdy, and the sliding/flip design is easy to operate while still holding the two sections of the door securely together. The 9-inch length gives it a good amount of support, and the included screws made installation pretty straightforward.I also like the matte black finish. It looks nice against the wood and is supposed to be rust resistant, which is important since mine is being used outdoors and will be exposed to the weather. The padlock hole is another nice feature if you need the option of locking a gate, barn door, or fence, although that wasn’t my main reason for ordering it.So far, it has handled the wind without any issues and feels plenty durable for everyday use.
