I’m really impressed with this heat gun kit. The 2000W heat gun heats up quickly and puts out plenty of hot air, making it useful for much more than just basic heat-shrink tubing. The two temperature settings give me good control depending on the job, and the compact size makes it easy to handle without taking up much room in my toolbox.The included 300-piece assortment of solder seal wire connectors and waterproof heat-shrink tubing is a great bonus. Having multiple sizes for 10–26 AWG wire means I can handle everything from smaller wiring jobs to heavier automotive connections without having to order additional connectors separately. The solder-seal connectors are especially convenient for making clean, sealed connections when working on vehicle wiring.The four included nozzles are also useful because they allow the airflow to be directed depending on the application. I’ve found the smaller nozzle particularly helpful when working around heat-shrink tubing where I want the heat concentrated in one area.The gun itself feels solid and is comfortable to hold. It reaches high temperatures quickly, and the high-temperature capability provides plenty of heat for shrinking tubing efficiently. I also like that the overall kit is compact enough to keep in my garage or take along for mobile repairs.For automotive, marine, electrical, and general DIY wiring projects, this is a very handy kit. Instead of buying a heat gun, connectors, and heat-shrink tubing separately, this gives you everything together in one package. I got this specifically for my husband because he does a lot of electrical repair on our trailers and other vehicles around the house. It is often so difficult to make sure that you have the correct foot connectors and they are often frustratingly difficult to maintain and hook and get a good connection. However, with this one, it is actually perfect. The attachments that came with it for putting together wiring were amazing. The heat output is amazing better than the old heat that I’ve had the past 20 years. I think it’s a very good value for the money and I am sure the quality is there just using a few things I’ve used in it so far in the last few weeks. I like how easy it is to use and especially like the fact that it comes in a nice little carrying case that keeps everything neatly and tightly in place. Overall, I love this and I’m know my husband is going to really enjoy

It also includes four different nozzles, allowing the airflow to be concentrated or directed differently depending on what you're working on.What makes the package particularly useful is the inclusion of 300 solder-seal wire connectors and waterproof heat-shrink tubing in sizes covering approximately 10–26 AWG. Instead of getting the heat gun and then immediately realizing you need to order the materials required for the project, you already have a substantial assortment available.For electrical connections, automotive work, marine projects, crafts, heat-shrink tubing, and countless DIY jobs, having controlled hot air is far more useful than trying to improvise with another heat source.The multiple nozzles are especially helpful because concentrated heat is important when working around components you don't necessarily want heated along with the shrink tubing.One important point: 1202°F is genuinely hot. A man can only barrow his wife's hair dryer so many times before he has to get a proper heat gun. That's the real problem this solved for me.I end up soldering and heat shrinking a lot of wires. I also plan to use it for removing adhesives or warming dents for PDR in cool weather.I added some strain relief to a USB cable as a test for this heat gun. It handled melting the heat shrink slowly and evenly on the low setting. Then, I bumped it up to the high setting to make sure I didn't miss anything. The next thing I know, it is smoking when I turn it off. I thought I did something wrong but when I referenced the included manual, it said that was a protective coating that burns off the first use. All good.I definitely noticed during my testing that it gets hot very fast. Given the included heat shrink, included nozzles, and two speed heat gun, I believe this is a good value.Overall, I look forward to adding heat shrink with the proper tool and avoiding the downsides of doing it with a lighter.

We got this because my husband thought it would be useful for our 3D printing work and shipping projects, and it has turned out to be a very handy little tool to have around.He found it easy to set up and use, and the instructions were straightforward. The heat gun heats quickly and the two temperature settings make it easy to adjust the amount of heat depending on what you're working on. The included nozzles are also useful for directing the heat where you need it.The kit comes with a good assortment of solder seal connectors and heat shrink tubing in different sizes, so there are plenty of options for different projects. The connectors are especially convenient because they don't require traditional soldering or crimping. You simply prepare the wire, position the connector, and apply heat.The heat gun itself feels well made and has plenty of power. We've used it for our projects and it has worked great for shrinking tubing and making clean, protected connections.I also wish I had this a few weeks ago when I was standing there using a lighter to shrink something. 😂 This is much easier to control and is a much better tool to have for jobs like that.For 3D printing, wiring, repairs, shipping projects, or just having around for those random jobs that come up, this is a useful kit to have.

There are so many temporary or shoddy ways to connect wires that the development of this product is a true relief. No twisting. No electrical tape. No untamed wire ends. Not even shrink tubing trying to give a decent look over a bulging solder joint. These solder seal connectors allow the ends of two wires that are to be connected to be lightly stripped of insulation, so that only about 3/16 of wire is exposed. Those ends are pushed together in the connector tube, even intertwining the separate strands, and their point of contact is placed inside the ring of solder. The ends of the connector tube project freely over the insulation of the wire. Then, a heat gun is applied vigorously, heating the connector tube and causing it to shrink tightly against the insulation of the wire, typically making a water-tight seal. But this is only the start. The heat gun needs to make the connector tube so hot that the solder ring inside of it melts and bonds the wire ends together inseparably. It seems a bad idea to heat anything plastic to that degree, but that is what these connector tubes are made for. About the time that it seems that the plastic should melt away and the solder would drip on the floor, that is about the point where the heating of the connector tube is done. The solder ring has melted and gently seeped into the wires, and the surrounding shrink plastic has held up through that strong heating. If you want to go further, increasing the insulation over the joint and hiding the solder, you can then add regular shrink tubing over the connector tubes. Regular shrink tubing, by the way, should only be heated until it pulls tight over what it covers. It does not tolerate as much heat as the solder seal connectors. This is a great product, if you want to make end-to-end wire connections that are strong, permanent, electrically continuous, well sealed, and nice looking.

The box comes with a Model "SDL-2819" (no name brand) heat gun, 4 gun tips and a 300 piece kit with heat shring tubes and solder wire connectors of various sizes.The gun has 2000 watts of power with a 1112 fahrenheit maximum temp. A finger trigger operates the gun with 3 settings; off, level 1 and level 2. The gun’s “form factor” is compact and easy to handle. The electric cord is thick and reinforced at each end.I compared my new SDL with an old Seekone 1800 watt gun which I’ve used for a couple years. The SDL is more compact and slighly heavier. Both have 2 heat levels and heat up about as fast. Both claim a maximun heat of 1112 fahrenheit. But the SDL sounds a little stronger and may deliver the heat slightly faster. Interestingly, both guns come with the identical 4 tips. They’re literally interchaneable as if made by the seam supplier. But my old Seekone didn’t come with the heat shrink and solder kit.A side by side test heating identical shrink tubes seemed to go very quickly for both. So it was hard to tell if one was faster. Both performed admirably.Head to head I feel the SDL beats the Seekone slightly. It’s smaller and more manuverable. Slightly easier to use with the finger trigger, instead of the Seekone’s rear slide controls. And the bonus heat shrink and solder kit provides a valuable perk. I use these fasteners on my electric bike and trailer wiring.
