Theme Park Designer-approved! As a designer and dad who handles heavy-duty DIY projects at home AND needs to get cracking at 12 Midnight on Theme Park Queue Theming worksites here in SoCal, I needed a to get a few rugged gear bags that not only "look good" matching all my Dewalt gear, but also have the utility and features I need as a landscape designer. These 18 Inch HARDIE BEAR tool bags worked great for me. They not only match my aesthetic (I am a Designer & Dewalt "Yellow+Black" Daddy thru-and-thru after all 🤣), but the bags also fit the bill on my build quality and utility needs with just ONE (1) caveat. First, these 18-inch wide-mouth tool bags feature an incredibly tough, double-stitched ballistic fabric shell that resists tears from sharp hand tools - from my utility knives and X-actos - to even a hacksaw that usually flops around all my bags in the backseat of my pick-up truck. The heavy-duty and waterproof molded rubber base is also a solid structural feature. It keeps the bag upright and protects my valuable Dewalt power tools from wet garage floors or muddy worksites. The wide-mouth internal steel frame opening stays wide open so I can instantly locate my tools without blindly digging around at night. As I am also a 🏋🏻‍♂️ bodybuilder and a big guy, the thick, rubber-molded carry handle fits my larger grip comfortably + the adjustable padded shoulder strap makes carrying a 40-pound load manageable. Finally, it features a nice combo mix of exterior slip pockets and interior slots that help keep my screwdrivers/pliers and Dewalt attachments organized. My only minor complaint, just a small one, is that the INTERIOR would benefit from at least ONE (1) zippered compartment (Hear that, HARDIE BEAR? Haha! 🤣) to keep small loose items like driver bits or drywall anchors from sliding around at the bottom of the main bay. It has a zippered compartment on the OUTSIDE, just FYI ♥️. It's a great tool bag at this price-point, so I ain't complaining! Cause it's a highly durable, industrial-grade storage solution with massive capacity & itty-bitty price-point! And why it gets my 100% Tried-and-True 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star Rating!I only give five star ratings to items that I use and exceed my expectations for quality, functionality, ease-of-use, premium appearance & looks, durability, ease of installation & time to build, value-priced and a good value for the price-point, accuracy in size & fit - and when possible - sustainability, green certification, safety, & environmental considerations. I like this tool bag a lot. It feels sturdier than I expected, especially for a bag from a brand I had never heard of before. The hard molded plastic bottom is one of the best parts. I’m usually setting tool bags down in garages, driveways, or other not-so-clean places, so having a rigid plastic base instead of just fabric makes it feel a lot more practical.The inside also seems well thought out. It has a plastic-like liner and enough pockets to keep smaller tools from turning into one big pile at the bottom. I also like that the lining and pockets would help contain small spills or greasy tools better than a plain fabric bag. The wide opening makes it easy to actually see what’s inside instead of digging around blindly.This seems like a good bag for hand tools, pliers, screwdrivers, sockets, small meters, and random garage repair stuff. The material, stitching, handle, zippers, and shoulder strap all seem good so far. I wouldn’t claim long-term durability yet, but first impression is that it feels like a real tool bag, not just a cheap tote with pockets.My only small complaint is the brand name. “HARDIE BEAR” just sounds a little odd to me, especially on a tool bag. Not a real problem, just kind of funny.Overall, I’m impressed. For an 18-inch tool bag with a molded base, wide opening, shoulder strap, and a lot of pockets, it feels like a solid and useful bag.

Canvas is high quality and durable. The hard plastic bottom is thick and doesn’t look like it is going to break easily. The provided shoulder strap is nice- I don’t/wont use it but at least it’s there as an option. The main zippers are heavy duty but they’re a little hard to get them to unzip around the curved part of the opening. Take your time and they’re fine, if you don’t I could see ruining the zipper part. Outside organizers are great especially the ones that have a Velcro flap over them. The inside is where it loses a star for me. Super generic inside pouches. Just holders for “something” instead of individual screwdriver holders or things like that. Overall the process is great, the product is very good and durable. The size is good as well. Any larger and you’d be lugging around 100lbs of tools haha. I would’ve liked to have seen more specialized tool pouches on the inside though.
