Great kit. The welder is extremely useful. The heat output is good.I suggest practicing a couple of times to get the hang of it before working on something you want to look good.

I never thought I'd think much if this. But I am using it a lot on older vehicle repairs of interior plastic panel clips and building unavailable cable ends.

The machine itself works as intended, but the only thing that sucks is the wire clippers. The metal is significantly softer than the staples itself. I had to use my own clippers.

Great set. I used it to weld the plastic splash guard for the underside of my car. Worked great and exactly what I needed. It came with everything to do the job and then some, it was really easy to use as well. The gun heats up quickly to make quick work. The paddle was a bit slower like a typical soldiering iron. Overall, I feel it’s a great bargain for what you get.

This plastic welding kit is a excellent starter kit for the first time user or the season veteran. It comes with everything you need to make quality repairs on plastic parts. I used it to repair a dashboard cover. When I fix flat plastic with the staple I like to give it about a 1/8 turn after it melts into the part I'm repairing. I feel that it makes for a stronger bond. I would recommend for the first time user to try it on some scrap plastic first. I would recommend this welder to anyone it is a quality tool.

Plastic Welding is the way to go for these new cars

I bought this tool to help repair a cracked radiator fan shroud (and potentially help with a gas tank repair). I was able to use it successfully without any training or research to make an acceptable repair on the fan shroud. The usage was very intuitive, hold the button down and the staple gets red hot in seconds. Plunge it into the plastic and it melts through like a hot knife in butter. One thing to be aware of is the amount of smoke (I'm sure highly toxic) fumes coming off the workpiece - a respirator would be a wise choice here. The heat of the staple would make it easy to melt all the way through the workpiece. The selection of staples included with the gun are nice, I was able to find shapes that fit the unique shape I was repairing.After the crack was stapled, I used the included snips to go cut the ends off the staples. The snips are a poorly made tool, I can feel the blades dulling already and they had some difficulty making the cuts. They are not perfectly flat on side, which seems like what you'd want to use for a flush cut.Next I attempted to use the included heat smoothing tool to melt/add filler material and even out the repair. This meant keeping the button down for extended periods of time, and unfortunately at some point in this process, the gun stopped responding. The LED light wouldn't light up nor would the tip heat. I decided to set the gun aside for 30 minutes to let it cool to see if there was a thermal switch or reset, and to my surprise, the gun worked again after cooling down. So pay attention to your duty cycle and try not to overheat the electronics inside.All in all I would recommend this tool as it has a particularly good value and made a sturdy repair.
