I have a APEC 5 stage RO system, it uses 10*2.5 filters, this filter fits it perfectly and is very easy to install. Originally, the first stage is a 5 micron filter, the second and the third stage are carbon filters. I have set it differently when ordered new filters. Right now, the first stage is a 20 micron filter, the second stage is this 5 micron filter, the third stage is a carbon filter. This 5 micron filter is the most important filter besides the RO member. This sediment filter is thick, it will last longer than the other two filters.

I highly recommend this product; it has significantly improved my household water experience by providing a comprehensive treatment solution for the entire home, rather than just filtering water at a single tap. The system is practically designed, and I particularly appreciate having a dedicated filtration unit that enhances the overall quality of the water we use daily. Whole-house UV systems are typically paired with sediment filters, activated carbon filters, or other filtration stages to achieve a broader range of purification results.Installation is straightforward and hassle-free when done correctly; the system operates silently in the background without disrupting my daily routine. I am very satisfied with the water flow rate—it easily meets our household needs—and the compact design ensures it doesn't take up too much space. The UV sterilization feature is a standout highlight, offering an extra layer of purification without altering the water's taste or adding chemicals.Overall, this whole-house UV water filtration system is a practical choice for homeowners looking to upgrade their water systems. It features a streamlined design, operates reliably, and conveniently handles the water supply for the entire house. I value the peace of mind it provides and appreciate that it eliminates the need for multiple separate filtration units throughout the home.

Solid option for a 5 micron standard sized filter.

This is a good standard sized filter, good for use to filter particulate matter out before it hits more expensive filter media (RO / Carbon). You can use this 5 micron filter on its own, or in front of a 1 micron filter.. It's a very easy install; and functions as you would expect.. Everyone's water is different, so pressure / flow rates can be a good indicator of when to change these.

Awesome product.

Installation is incredibly simple, requiring only correct pipe connections. The system is also ideally designed for domestic water use. Once installed, it runs quietly in the background, requiring minimal monitoring. I particularly appreciate that it requires no chemical additives, making it a convenient option for families seeking cleaner water.

These commodity level PP cartridges are nothing special, but they're price as if there is.

These 5-micron melt blown polypropylene (PP) filter cartridges are made to fit the quarter sized Pentek-style ''Big Blue' filter housings that have become ubiquitous throughout the residential market, and specifically are extremely common in under-sink RODI systems. They are well suited to the task of filtering upstream sediments prior to the water reaching the RO membrane, but typically this is just the first of two, three or four stages installed to take the load off of the RO membrane, thereby extending its life (and expense to replace) considerably. These are made of a very inexpensive petroleum based thermoplastic that is found in everything from carpet and upholstery fabrics to rope and yes, water filtration products (thanks also to its toughness and high chemical resistance). These particular units fit the self-centering housings mentioned just fine, and as long as the user keeps their housing O-rings coated with food grade silicone grease, they should never have to exert much effort getting and maintaining a completely leak-free service. Installation is quite simple, but depends upon the foresight of the individual who plumbed in the filter housing. These are so common in the market these days that they are basically become commodity type items, so a melt blown PP cartridge is a melt blown PP cartridge (with the possible exception of a few companies who attempt to differentiate themselves by carving grooves into the outer faces to increase surface area at the expense of filter media mass). As such these are best evaluated on the basis of density and cost, and these are nothing outside the norm in terms of construction, but they are way above the mean just here on Amazon. Elsewhere, I can order these online from other suppliers for as little as two bucks a piece in quantities of six, with free shipping, and they are available from my local orange box retailer for a little over three bucks, so at this offering price these represent no real value for the money, whether they work or not. Plenty of other fish in the sea.

Best for pre-filtering.Best for pre-filtering.

I purchased this type of sediment as it features a multi-density layered PP fiber structure. I got an existing 5 micron pleated design but I guess this is better than my existing pleated. I have an existing tankless RO system and series of pre-filtering system. It consist of 10 micron sediment, 5 micron and 1 micron. All water will pass through to that filters before entering my RO machine. If anything that was not filtered by my 10 micron then I still have 5 micron left that will continue to filter so no bigger size sediment can pass through. This captures fine particles, sediment, rust and producing crystal clear water. This is very well-constructed, more filtering surface area, porous fiber layout, and superior water permeability. This is compatible with my 10 inches filter housing. It fits perfectly. I normally replaced my filters every 6 months because it’s expensive but with this company that manufactures an affordable filter with premium quality now I plan to replaced it every 2 months. Ensuring that my family will get the best, the cleanest tasting water. Easy to install. Very straightforward. No fancy tools needed and no special skills needed and mostly you dont’ need a professional plumber. Even my kid can install this alone. Just DIY. Installed in minutes only.Overall, I’m happy to have a peace of mind drinking the best quality of water using this 5 micron filter.

Good simple filterGood simple filter

This is a simple multi-layer filter which is made from rolled polypropylene sheet. That enables it to filter particles as fine as 5 microns, even without using any finer filtering elements. There is a polyethylene frame inside to keep the shape. The top and bottom of this cartridge doesn’t have rubber gaskets like my old cartridges did, so some smaller particles will flow past the edges. But this is good enough to be used as a whole-house filter to remove sediment particles and some rust.

Improves Taste, Smell, and Water Pressure. Perfect Fit.Improves Taste, Smell, and Water Pressure....

Disclaimer: This item was provided free of charge to allow me to provide an honest, unbiased review based solely on my personal experience with it.The thing about home ownership is you learn lots of new things, often very quickly. One lesson is that when you have a well, you also have a sediment filter that needs to be changed regularly. We had been using a 10 micron string filter. While the water didn't taste bad, I wondered if it would taste better with a better filter. I also wondered if we would get fewer clogs in the faucet screens. We've never had them clog up, but they have slowed down, and we've had to clean a few screens. So I ordered the 5 Micron PP Sediment Water Filter from the WLSINJL Store. Its measurements are true to the description of 10' x 2.5". It looks like it's made from some sort of dense white foam. The filter had no smell to me.My husband is the lucky one who gets to crawl into the crawlspace to replace the filters and perform other mundane tasks. I did crawl in far enough to grab a pic. Note that in the pic the filter is leaning over, and that's only because he had the canister tilted. It did sit just fine on the little bottom peg in the center. It's a simple process of turning off the water, twisting off the canister, removing the old filter, cleaning the cap and canister, inserting the new filter, and putting it back together. The old filter was pretty dirty... but we didn't change it over the winter because it was just too cold and miserable. The water tastes a little better than before. It actually seems to smell a little better, too, which is to say I actually don't notice a smell now. Sometimes, before, we would get a strong bleach smell. And I found that odd for well water. The water pressure is much better, and increased more than I remember from other filter changes.Pros: Fit perfectly. Improved water taste and smell. Improved water pressure.Cons: None identified.Overall Impression: It's a water filter. It's doing its water filtering job very well. I have zero complaints and would gladly recommend this 5 Micron Sediment Water Filter to others.
