I used this foam tape to seal all around my window air conditioner, and it worked perfectly. The strips were easy to work with and did a great job filling the gaps and creating a nice seal around the unit.I especially like the adhesive. It holds the foam securely in place but isn't so aggressive that I have to worry about damaging things if I need to remove it later. That's a nice balance for something that may need to be taken off seasonally. It has made a noticeable difference in sealing around the AC, and I really like having the extra protection against drafts and outside air. Exactly what I needed for the job.

I purchased the 1“ x 1“ foam stripping mainly to have in stock when switching window A/C out seasonally and I just tend to go through tons of this material every year when I set up new winterized shelters for stray cats and my pet cats that like to go out on the porch that I seal up and winterize for the winter. For me this is just one of those products that I can never have too much of it lying around of different grades and widths. This is very soft and spongy and conforms very well to surfaces, and I stuck a piece on my siding to test it for adhesion, left it for 2-3 hours and when I went to peel it off it actually removed the paint, the adhesion was fantastic. You can see in the photo how it ripped the paint clean off the siding.

I ordered this window seal foam to use as weather stripping for the human door going into our metal garage. Our door has a lip on the outside of it that has bent from rolling things over it and so now when it rains the water comes under our door. I also want to prevent some bugs from coming in this way. This is advertised to be able to also use around doors and air conditioners and says it has good adhesion. I cleaned the metal lip and door with windex and alcohol to make sure I have a clean area to apply it. The roll is about 6’ long but easy to cut to the length you need it to be. The foam seems dense and is 2” wide and 1” thick. It’s a bit too thick for the gap between my door and the lip of the door frame but I am able to press against the door hard and get it to close completely. I’ve added this to the top and handle side of the door as well to get an even seal all around. We just happened to have a huge rain storm and it seems to have kept out the water. My only concern is the adhesion of the foam. In some areas, mostly the edges I can see that it may loose its adhesion because when I checked it I was able to see where the edges can pull away a bit. Maybe this is normal for a traffic area and being exposed to wetness. If needed I’ll just add some glue. It is keeping small bugs from entering through the gap. It is fixing my needs and so I’m finding it useful and it was easy to apply. I’d definitely use it with 5 star confidence in a less traffic area such as an ac unit window.

No problems so far. I've used this with two A/C installs. The first unit was a small window A/C to help cool an upstairs bedroom. The unit came with some foam insulation but due to the house being a little older there were still some spots where I could see daylight around the unit. I like this 1 x 1 tape because I can fit it into tiny spaces. If I need more than an inch then I use a couple strips. Since this window unit is going to stay in the window year-round I really went to town plugging up any gaps. The second time I used it was for one of those portable A/C units, the kind where the box sits in the room and a large hose goes to the window to let out hot air. The window hose holder is an expandable plastic slide. Again, due to the age of the house, the window holder would sometimes rattle or move slightly. I found that putting a strip of this seal on the top and bottom of the window slide holder that it would stop the movement and make a really good seal in the window. Since this portable unit will not stay in this window I applied the foam tape to the plastic hose holder, not the window. Really neat stuff to have around.

Great air conditioner seal. It came rolled up and wrapped in plastic but once I took the plastic off it started to expand. I thought it was the same as the foam that came with my air conditioner which was pretty thin but it puffed up to an inch thick so it is true to size. It has a good squish to it and is just as good as the foam from the hardware store.

I used this foam tape on my garage door, and overall it did what I needed it to do. The foam itself is thick and easy to cut and work with, and it filled the gap well enough to help with drafts. My biggest issue is that the adhesive is not nearly as strong as advertised. I cleaned and dried the surface before applying it, but the tape still wanted to peel up in some areas. I had to press it down pretty firmly to get it to stay in place. That said, once I got it secured, it worked for my garage door and sealed the gap like I needed. The foam is good quality, but I would not count on the adhesive being as strong as the description claims.

This foam sealing tape is a must-have when installing a portable air-conditioning unit. The thick foam strips fill unwanted gaps around the window and help create a much better seal, preventing warm outside air from leaking into the room. The adhesive holds the foam securely in place, and the strips are easy to apply where needed. It works very well and makes the air conditioner installation feel more complete and efficient. A simple, practical product that does exactly what it should.

Okay so I received these Air Conditioner Window Seal Foam Tape Rolls, 1 x 1 Inch Thick Foam Strips with Adhesive through Vine, and they’re a practical solution for sealing around a window air conditioner and helping reduce drafts and gaps. My first impression was that the 1 x 1-inch foam strips are substantial enough to fill noticeable gaps around a window AC unit. I also like that they have adhesive backing because it makes installation much simpler than trying to hold separate insulation in place. What I like: 1 x 1-inch foam strips provide good coverage for larger gaps; Adhesive backing makes installation quick and straightforward; Useful around window air conditioners to help seal open spaces; Can help reduce drafts and outside air coming through gaps; Helpful for both summer and winter insulation; Flexible foam makes it easier to fit around uneven areas; Can be cut to the desired length for a customized fit; Useful for improving the seal around a window AC installation; Having multiple rolls provides plenty of material for larger areas or future replacements; Simple DIY installation without requiring specialized tools.Things to know:Clean and dry the surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive for the best hold.Measure the gap before installation so you choose the appropriate amount of foam.Cut the strips carefully for a neat fit around corners and edges.Press the foam firmly into place after applying it.Check the seal periodically, especially after removing and reinstalling a window AC unit.Overall, the Air Conditioner Window Seal Foam Tape is a simple and useful product for filling gaps around a window AC and improving the overall seal. I especially like the combination of the thicker 1 x 1-inch foam and adhesive backing because it makes the installation easy while providing enough material to handle larger gaps. A practical product to have on hand for window AC insulation, reducing drafts, and sealing those annoying gaps around the unit.
