Solar lights are my favorite because there is no power supply installed in my backyard, and these two lights are perfect for mounting on the fence. The design is simple, elegant, and classic—exactly what I was looking for.

These solar post cap lights are okay overall, but they are much dimmer than I expected. They look nice on the post and the solar design is convenient since there’s no wiring or electricity needed, but the light output just isn’t very bright.The installation is fairly simple, and I like that they are designed to fit both 4x4 and 3.5x3.5 posts. The black finish also looks clean and blends in nicely with the fence or deck.The solar charging feature is convenient, and I appreciate not having to deal with cords or batteries. They also provide a little bit of decorative lighting around the yard at night.My biggest issue is the brightness. I was hoping for more illumination, but these are more of a soft decorative glow than a light that actually brightens an area. If you’re looking for something primarily for ambiance, they may work well, but don’t expect them to be very bright.Overall, they’re a decent solar post light and easy to use, but the dim light keeps me from giving them more than 3 stars.

I really like the style of these solar lights. They have a cool, modern look that fits the vibe of my backyard really well. They also give off a nice glow at night without looking too bright. Simple, stylish, and easy to set up.

The post cap lamp was easy to install. Actually I just placed on the top of a post and it stays. There are couples of screws in the package but I didn't bother to use them. I felt it was pretty tight when it was placed.Got it for a couple of weeks. Nothing to complain about. The light isn't particularly bright but it's comparable with other solar yard lamps.

It is important to know the size of your post prior to ordering. This solar post cap is designed for 4”x 4” and 3.5” x 3.5” post. Don’t be like me. I looked and said yeah it will fit. Well I was wrong. My post are larger than 4”x4”. It is also important to make sure you place this post cap in position to receive direct sunlight. This post cap is made of plastic. This solar post cap is designed for wood or vinyl post. The post cap is perfect for fences, decks and other outdoor post.Installation is required. Installation instructions are included. The instructions seem easy to follow. The post cap is environmently friendly. No electricity or outlets are needed. The post cap has built in high efficiency solar panels. The post cap is entirely powered by sunlight. It is user friendly. There is nothing to remember. You don’t have to be concerned to turn it on/off. Just install it and forget it. It does the work for you. It will charge during the day and automatically turn on at night.This post cap seems durable. It is IP65 waterproof. It should withstand all weather conditions. Rain, snow, heat and humidity shouldn’t be a threat to this post cap. It is fashioned in a way to protect the solar light components. This product is equipped with one small LED bulb. The bulb should project a welcoming ambiance while improving visibility around your property.As stated, I failed to measure my post prior to ordering. I think this product has a stylish look. I wanted to install post caps on my deck post. Unfortunately this post cap is too small for my post. However, I like thinking outside the box. I was thinking all is not lost. I said I can build something that will accommodate this product. All I would need is a piece of 4”x 4” wood, a box to make a stand and sand to fill the box to support the wood. I would set it in the middle of the table that is currently on my deck. I must say, I learnt my lesson. I wanted to test the reliability of this product prior to investing in my project. I set this post cap on my outdoor table. I picked a spot so that it will receive direct sunlight. It has been sitting in the same spot for over a week. The post cap performed well charging and turning itself on at night. This product is not equip with a battery power indicator. During my testing there were a few cloudy days. That didn’t stop the light from turning on at night. The bulb provided a decent amount of light. When light shows up, darkness must leave. So it will provide some illumination. I am not completely satisfied with the amount of light it provides. I thought it would be brighter. I left it out thinking it would get brighter as it received more sunlight. However, that was not the case. The light doesn’t get any brighter. Needless to say, I will not be investing in my project. For now I will leave it sitting on the table on my deck. A little light is better than no light.Overall this product is reliable and hassle free. It will give you some illumination. It has a stylish look and is well built. It is vey important to measure prior to ordering. I think this product is a little pricey. If I was able to use this product and place one on each of my post, I would have to purchase 9 of them. I think the product performed well, but because of price I don’t think its a good value for the money.

This light is decently bright, looks nice, and fits snugly on a 4x4 post. Keep in mind that if you have a board that butts up against any side you will have to modify that or the light to make it fit as it is a plastic sleeve that goes over it. I set it up last night and it gave a pleasant amount of light similar to those you'd put in a stake. It looks very nice, and is sitting securely over the post simply by putting it up there. It's made of plastic but seems decently durable. It's not going to take an impact but I also expect it will last for a long time if untouched. However, I had assumed at $20 I would get more than one, I don't think I'd pay more than $5-$10 for this considering you're going to want a lot more than one and $20 adds up really quick. It's ok, just overpriced.

The solar panel, wire circuits and battery holder are all contained in the lid top. You do not need tools the change the bulb or battery. Merely twist the top lid and pull upwards. No wiring is visible. The base stays atop a standard 4X4 [3,5"x3.5"] post secured by two provided black screws. Easy to install, easy to maintain. This light comes with instructions in English & Spanish. They are very complete and easy to understand. The included battery is a single rechargeable Ni-MH [Ni-CAD] AA 1.2 volt battery. The instructions state the battery must be of the same size and power. It does not mention if you can replace the battery with a rechargeable with different chemistry such as Lithium.My example was tested using just morning direct sunlight and clear to partly cloudy summer skies. The light turned on at dusk, and was still illuminated until dawn for 4 day period which included on cloudy rainy day.. I am sure winter will be a much greater challenge. I found the light provided adequate horizontal lighting and enough down lighting to allow good footing over some uneven ground. Down lighting could be increase if you added some high reflective metallic tape to the underside of the black plastic lid. Cap lights also give a measure of increase protection for your wood posts which is a very real plus.This single light was a test for us. Believe we will be adding more as we remodel our rear deck. These lights are an excellent value for the money due to the quality of the design and construction.
