We bought these for our composite deck.There are a few stairs that lead up to it and we wanted a safer option so it could be lit so no one falls.These were easy to wire in and install.They are recessed and they are very slim profile.They illuminate very nicely and enhance the look of our deck area.They are far more reliable than the solar powered spotlight we had facing the deck and look way nicer too.They have been hardy with the weather and rain hasn't damaged them as the housing is strong and we have taken extra precaution to extend the life of them with proper sealing around light.Tj

The lights themselves are good, but I ordered the white version and was sent black, which was disappointing and is the main reason I’m rating them lower.We bought these for our basement stairs, so in our particular situation I wasn’t worried enough about the color difference to go through the hassle of exchanging them. If these were going somewhere more visible where I specifically needed white, though, receiving the wrong color would have been a much bigger issue.My husband installed them and said the installation was easy and straightforward. Once installed, they work well for adding light along the basement stairs and give us the extra visibility we wanted.Overall, I’m happy with how the actual lights function and the installation went smoothly. My issue is simply that I should have received the white lights I ordered rather than black. If the correct color had arrived, my experience would have been much better.

I got the opportunity to test the se lights out and I'm impressed. I do a lot of construction and so love when a simple new product is available.These little lights attach right to a single gang nail on box and are easy to wire up and adjust color temperature on. I love that you can change it from 2700 all the way up to 6000k color temp and their LEDs so they've used very low power.These are great step lights or hallway path lights and we'll start incorporating them in my remodels now that I see how easy they are to install.Know if you install in concrete steps outside as some of the pictures suggest, you'll want to make sure that they're GFCI protected and in a weatherproof box rated to be buried in concrete.Appearance is great and they are good value for the price.

Step lights put the light on the tread instead of in your eyes, and these mount into a standard gang box, which is what makes them realistic as a retrofit in a stairwell that already has boxes roughed in.Two specs stand out. Selectable color temperature means you can match the fixture to whatever the rest of the space already runs instead of living with whatever shipped, and a CRI above 90 keeps wood and carpet tones looking correct rather than washed out.
