This showed up well packed and everything survived shipping intact. It arrives as parts, but assembly is quick and pretty intuitive. Instructions are included, though you barely need them once you see how the tubes and connectors snap together. The kit comes with 16 tubes, plus Y and V connectors, so you can build the three-hexagon layout shown or come up with your own shape.Mounting is where this one earns points. It ships with several mounting options and the hardware you need, so it's a complete product out of the box. Power is equally painless: there's a 120VAC cord with a standard plug on one end and the fixture connector on the other, so it's plug and go. If you'd rather hardwire it, they also include a connector with pigtail leads, so that's an easy path too.Construction is LEDs on an internal PCB and heat sink, sealed inside translucent clear tubes. Output ranges from visible blue/purple into UV, so anything fluorescent in the room lights up. I have several hand-painted tiki lamp shades done in fluorescent paint and they look fantastic under this fixture.Right now I have it mounted on the wall of my screened-in porch so it's visible from outside at night, and it makes for a great-looking wall or ceiling lamp. It'll probably end up in my recording room eventually. Cool product, and a complete one.

I can't wait to use this for my annual Halloween party, it can cover so much space! The Blacklight LEDs are bright with wide coverage. They claim to have a 110 degree lighting range. I don't have them up yet, but I plugged them in and the light up the room. It uses lightweight T5 light tubes and include Y and V shaped connectors, which allows you to customize the installation. The lighting is 112W which will make anything fluorescent like banners, glow-in-the-dark paints and posters pop. These are perfect themed parties, holiday displays, or just fun accent lighting. I'm very impressed with these, they're well worth the money.

This thing is fun to have around. Makes dance night really fun. It makes white things glow like a black light. My only issue was installation. Putting the light together was super easy—intuitive, even. But attaching it to the ceiling was a bout of a beast, especially since i was doing it alone. The little metal clip-in things are a great idea, but are quite challenging to work. I got frustrated enough my first attempt that I had to put it away for a few days. When I did come back, I ended up just screwing it in using the holes in the elbows of the lights. That’s what I recommend doing. If I were to do it again, I’d probably screw in the pieces as I put the lights together, instead of putting the light together and then mounting it.Anyway, beautiful light

These LED black lights are pretty cool and if you're trying to set up a room with UV reactive objects, they'll really give you a lot of blacklight effect and a splash of visible purple light (as most UV LEDs do). I have to say that I feel like for the premium price these aren't very premium feeling. For one thing I found the parts to be very flimsy and creaky during assembly, and the electrical connections are a bit iffy and sometimes sections will disconnect when they shift around. Also, if every single end is not capped, there are accessible live electrical connections that aren't really recessed enough to guarantee they can't be touched. This appliance did not have any UL or ETL cert on it that I could find and it's evident by the way it's designed, and probably would not be approved for any professional installation. The lights are also indvidual LED dots with no diffuser and I think for these hexagons a diffuser would have looked better. The power cord is pretty short, and the connector for hard wire installation is very short, which seems skimpy. I think the value for money is poor considering the build quality and I would recommend holding out for something nicer. Also - if you wanted to set them up in a straight line there's no connectors to allow that, and if you want a zigzag there's no "cap" for the end.

The product when built looks exactly like the images. However, you must put it all together. This does allow you to reconfigure it to personalize your design and space. No soldering required, 2 wiring with screw caps and plug to wall outlet.Electrician not required. This is for you if you like to put together electrical projects OR you have an electrician or friend. It's not ready to go out of the box and requiress assembly. It has all the parts required and is basically "snap together" i.e. join and twist. Can be secured further with epoxy if desired.Handy? Great! Go for it!Clumsy with two left thumbs? Get a friend or electrician.Easily expanded and can be configured as You desire but requires assemble, is not ready to go right out of the box but doesn't require special tools for assembly. All is included.Me, I love it, but I love strategy games with hexagons so it's going in my basement along with the terrain table, books, and minis!

These are not small decorative hexagons. When I arranged all three straight across, the completed design extended beyond my 5-foot-2½-inch height. This set creates a substantial lighting display and can cover much more ceiling or wall space than the product photos may suggest. The lights can be assembled in the configuration shown on the listing, grouped into a tighter cluster, or placed straight across. I chose the straight design because it spreads the lighting over a wider area and works best for our planned installation on the carport ceiling.Assembly is easy, and the diagrams clearly show where each connecting joint belongs. One important detail may prevent some unnecessary head-scratching: one of the three-way connectors will have an open slot. You did not assemble anything incorrectly or receive a missing piece. That opening is intended for the plug connection. Position this connector closest to where you want the power cord before joining all the sections.I also appreciate the two power options. The set can plug directly into an outlet for a simple installation or be hardwired to operate from a wall switch for a cleaner, more permanent setup. That is an excellent feature and makes the lights adaptable to different spaces. Here in Hawaii, we often use our carports as social areas while the cars are parked on the road. This large display will be great for Halloween, nighttime entertaining, and family gatherings when all the kids arrive with their kids.Between the impressive size, customizable configuration, straightforward assembly, and plug-in or hardwired installation options, this is a thoughtfully designed lighting system that can make a major visual impact.
