I ordered the 52 inch non-flush mount fan, to replace a very dated fan in a mobile home remodel.There are a few features that I like about this specific fan:- It includes a short and long down stem rod.- The fan has a DC motor. DC fans have multiple advantages over AC fans (much lighter, use less electricity, much quieter - even at the same fan speed).- The fan accepts standard bulbs. I especially appreciate this because I wanted to use my own smart bulbs - making the light portion of the fan a "smart light".- Reversable fan blades, allowing you to pick from wood or matte black finish.I took down my old fan (same size, 52 inch) which has an AC motor. The old fan was roughly twice the weight. I was super excited to get this fan installed, but the mounting bracket (used to attach the fan to the ceiling electrical fixture box) did not fit. The included mount was too big. I don't hold this against the manufacturer at all, as all recent fixture boxes (that are fan safe) are 4" or larger. Unfortunately my home was built using different standards, and even though the 3 inch box is fan safe (and the old fan was twice the weight) - the usual resolution to this issue is to replace the electrical box. Unfortunately without attic access, replacing the box is a challenge.I am still trying to figure out how to get it mounted, its a great fan. But for the reason above, if you have an older home - you might want to check your fixture box first. Looking at reviews from other buyers (for the same fan, but flush mount) - it looks like the flush mount version has more flexibility in this aspect.Update - I was able to find a bracket that allowed me to install the fan, from a local blue big box store. It was under 6 dollars, and was in the fan (not electrical) section. The fan looks and works great!

The condo we just bought had a ceiling fan in the living room - the size was right but it didn't have a light. We ordered this fan to replace that one. It accomplished three things. 1. A lot of our new fixtures are black, and so is this fan and light. 2. It has a light. 3. It was easy to install since the electrical work was already done and the existing fan was heavier than this one is. Mission accomplished. Not only does it look great but it really enhances the room and we now have another light in this area. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Nothing wimpy in its build, this ceiling fan has sturdy parts. I expect long use of this fan and modern options in the lighting it can also put out. No Cons to mention at all.
