This is a full kit of the parts required for installation of an indoor EV outlet (less wire). It includes a standard 4x4 metal electrical box, wire entrance clamp, plaster ring, cover plate, and the 240v receptacle itself. The receptacle is marked as EV rated and ETL certification. The quality seems fine. While a hardwired charger would be better, this plug in option is better than a standard 50A receptacle as it is rated for EV use. It of course can also be used for other 240V applications. The receptacle it not up to commercial or industrial grade standards and it would have been nice if they included the torque specs for the wire terminations as this is an important element for a proper and safe installation. For what is included, this kit is a reasonable value.

Mounts directly to the surface. Installation is challenging due to limited space. The hardest part is running thick solid strand cable. This is 50A 4 wire service; two legs of 110V are required along with a Neutral and Ground. 4 wires @ 6AWG is the maximum the electrical box has room for. There is no room for extra wire and it's easiest to have a few inches to pull back so the 14-50R socket fits nicely into place. The unit comes in a retail box, and is packaged very nice. Includes everything needed to get is set up including a cover plate. and everything aligns nicely. The electrical box is heavy and makes mounting easy. There will not be any durability issues with anything. The socket is marked EV rated, but I am using it on RV connection at home.After getting it installed, and hooked to my RV I went in and turned everything on in the camper and everything worked fine , and after 15 minutes I got the temp gun out and the socket was only running about 10 degrees warmer than the outside temp at about 40 amps draw.If you got the skills to hook one up, this one seems to handle everything I could throw at it easily and at this price, it is amazing.

This is a complete kit (double wide junction box w grounding screw, 3/4" cable clamp, mud ring, finish plate, receptacle, and required screws) includes with everything you need to wire a new outlet for your EV charger. The only additional components required are the length of cable (suitable for the distance from your service panel to the outlet) and a 50A dual pole breaker (unique to your service panel).The box also include instructions. Oddly the the torque spec (75 in-lb) is located on the box, not the instructions. Similarly, there is no strip gauge on the outlet - instead, it is embedded in Fig1 of the instructions (3/5").I will note that the outlet itself is not particularly heavy duty. So if you plan to plug and unplug various devices into this outlet regularly you might consider a commercial-grade outlet.Overall, however, i find this to be a good complete kit for residential use at a reasonable price.

Everything seems well made. The $20 big-box 14-50 outlet only had prong grips (whatever they are called - the copper inside the outlet slots) that were half the height of the slot. That might be fine, but I feel more comfortable with full height clips like this one since you'll be running high current for long periods
