I got this roll for my Mom’s ramp because a simple slip could cause a serious injury as she gets older. The 2-inch width suits adding clear grip strips where feet need extra traction. I like the combination of an abrasive surface and glow-in-the-dark visibility for low-light use. The long roll gives enough material to cut pieces to fit a ramp and other problem areas. This tape is a practical addition alongside the existing handrails. It helps make the ramp easier to see at night while adding a more secure surface underfoot. Properly cleaning and drying the ramp before application should help the adhesive hold as intended. The cut-to-fit design makes placement more flexible than pre-sized traction strips. The abrasive finish may feel rough on bare feet, so I would place it where shoes normally make contact. I got this to use on the stairs of my parents. Two of their cats started scratching the bottom two steps that come off the rest of the stairs into the bottom landing. While the carpeting is old, my parents still did not want to replace it just because of two of their cats, so I suggested they put tape at the edge to deter the cat from scratching.The worry was depending on what you applied to the stairs you don’t want a slick surface, especially for older folks to walk and slip on. So when I found this, I thought that would help on all fronts. It would be a sticker to deter the cats from scratching in that same spot, it gives a grip so that my parents don’t have to worry about slipping, barefoot, or in shoes, and best yet it has a glowing effect when exposed to bright light.It was easy enough to attach to the stairs which are carpeted. And I actually had to move a strip as well, and it did allow itself to be repositioned. I don’t know how long it will last but so far so good. The cats have not scratched at them because who wants to scratch at that rough tape. And no one feels insecure when they are walking down those last two stairs either. If they have the dining room light on and then turn it off, they also glow slightly as well.

So far so good with this tape. It is very adhesive so it sticks onto my stairs very well. I love how it keeps me from slipping down my slick staircase, and it is easily visible. I bought it for my exterior stairs on my porch. The glow-in-the-dark works fairly well when it first becomes dark, however, throughout the night, it loses its brightness. But that works for me as I'm usually only outside right after nightfall. Overall it does the job of keeping me from slipping and falling down the stairs. Hopefully it holds up for a long time.

I ordered this grip tape for some outdoor wooden steps that can get slippery in the rain. Sticks very well to smooth wood. I will not know how well it stays put till the rains start. Provides really good traction. The glow strip is narrow enough (a hair under half an inch) not to interfere with traction. The glow is adequate, but it isn't the super high quality I got in some very expensive Japanese glow tape. It is about equivalent to the glow I got in a 50 ft roll of half inch tape that costs $6. An alternative to this combo tape would be to place regular grip strip half an inch back from the nose of the step and then add regular glow in the dark tape in front of that. This combo tape, the more expensive way to go, is certainly the most convenient. The 16.4 ft roll is adequate for 5 or 6 steps if you are using about 3 ft per step; much fewer, of course, if you want a wider band. $10 for 16.4 ft is not a bad price considering the high quality and the convenience.
