The quality appears to be very nice right out of the pack. The blade length is about 9 inches and give you good maneuverability. The blade has a little flex to it, but not too much and not too brittle either. I can already see how the unique, curved design will work for plunge cutting which I think is genuinely clever and innovative. I can't wait to test it out more thoroughly on my upcoming projects!Overall I'm glad I ordered this and think it's a good buy for the price and what you're getting. A definite recommendation.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I ordered this saw blade by accident. I had borrowed my neighbor's reciprocating saw to cut thick roots in my yard, and he said it needed a new blade. Never having used a reciprocating saw before, I ordered the first one I saw in the Vine program, and only afterward did I realize that this is a plunge-cutting blade for lumber and other wood products, not a pruning blade for roots and branches. But since I have it, I tested it on a piece of scrap wood, and it worked beautifully.The blade fit and locked securely into my neighbor's Chicago Electric reciprocating saw. It jumped around somewhat as I began the plunge cut, particularly at lower speeds, although some of that may have been due to my inexperience. Once the cut was established and I increased the speed, it moved through the pre-primed pine easily without binding or noticeable flexing. The cut line was clean on both sides of the board. Afterward, the teeth were still intact and undamaged; only some of the orange coating had rubbed away. Of course, I don't know about long-term durability. It seems like a good blade for the price.

This is a decent reciprocating saw blade. Nothing about its performance has necessarily blown me away compared with other blades, but the 9-inch length is a definite advantage for deeper cuts where more commonly sized blades may come up short.The HCS blade is also fairly thick and sturdy, so it doesn't have an excessive amount of flex while you're trying to make a straighter or more controlled cut. That's particularly helpful for the plunge and deeper wood-cutting applications this is marketed toward.Overall, it's not something I'd describe as dramatically different from other decent reciprocating blades, but the combination of added length and rigidity gives it a useful place in the tool collection.

Fits the reciprocating saw we have. I wanted to try a different saw blade to cut wood, this offers a cleaner cut than the other wood ones I've had. I like that this doesn't have a rounded tip, it's got an angle to it so I am able to get a small cut first and then use the whole blade. I don't use this for everything, only for wood that I am too lazy to take out the circular saw for. It's a lot more precise than the other wood cut ones I've had. The steel used is pretty good, doesn't flex too much when cutting.

I ordered this PAYA TOOLS 9" 8TPI HCS Reciprocating Saw Blade for Precision Plunge Cutting in Wood because I do a lot of repairs around the house and it will be a great add to my reciprocating saw tool box.I tried it on a piece of scrap plywood I clamped to my workbench and it worked great. The blade is stout/stiff enough that it stays true and is easy to control. The unique triangle shaped front of the blade allows you to gently plunge into the wood. Its important to go slowly at first, not aggressively. Once you are through the wood you can go vertical and cut normally.Normally, if I'm cutting a square out of a sheet, I would drill holes on opposing corners, then use a sabre saw to cut along my lines. With this plunge blade I can just make 4 cuts. A nice time savings.The one caveat, this is a medium TPI blade, which is great for most work, but keep that in mind if the cut you making is for a finished edge surface.At just under $9 this is a great value. For a few bucks more you can get the 3-pack, which is a really great value.

I don't really do plunge cuts with a reciprocating saw-- I'd more likely use a jig saw for more precision.I thought this blade would perform better than an old bi-metal all-purpose blade for some tree trimming. The extra length seemed like it would help. I was wrong. This blade was terrible at cutting even small pinky finger branches-- struggling to cut through the last remaining barks and leaving the branch to fall and strip extra bark off. Oh well, that's what I get for going outside the intended purpose...The blades only cut one direction.

I'm always doing projects around the yard, but I never used a plunge-cut blade. Before this blade, if I wanted to cut out a square hole, I would first draw the outline, then drill holes in each corner and use my jigsaw to cut out the hole. It always comes out perfect, but I need two tools to get it done.I tried using this blade, and it worked well. Fit my trusty DeWalt saw. For the first cut, my suggestion is to let the saw blade do its thing. Don't force it, or you might bend the blade. But use some force, or else it will bounce around when you start. Once it got through the wood, I was able to angle the saw vertically to plunge cut. The issue I have is that once you reach one corner, you need to start the process over again for the remaining three sides.Definitely an interesting blade, but is it practical for precision cuts? No, it's really not. I will continue to use a drill and a jigsaw for most precision hole cuts. But this blade will come in handy from time to time if I don't want to break out the drill and jigsaw.Good saw blade at a reasonable price.
