This Is One Seriously Heavy Duty PoleThis Is One Seriously Heavy Duty Pole

[Number of Items: 1, Number of Items: 1]
This is one heavy-duty light pole, and I’m very impressed with the quality. Honestly, I expected a 10-foot pole that would probably start leaning or fall apart with the first 20 mph winds we had, but that is definitely not what showed up. This thing is heavy, solid, and feels like it was actually made to stay put.At 10 feet tall, it has plenty of height for getting a light up where it can actually cover a good-sized area. The metal construction feels substantial, and the entire pole has a much more commercial feel than I was expecting. I also really like that it comes with the rebar cage anchor base.Installation looks like it will be pretty straightforward. We’ll make a hole in the ground large enough for the anchor, set it with concrete, let everything cure, and then bolt the pole to the secured base. Once that anchor is set in concrete and the pole is bolted down, I really don’t think this thing is going anywhere. We haven’t installed ours yet, so I can’t speak to how it performs long-term in wind and weather or how well it holds our lights once everything is mounted. Just handling it, though, I’m already impressed with how sturdy and well-made it feels.I can’t wait to get it in the ground and get our lights up and running. Unfortunately, it’s just too darn hot in Texas right now to voluntarily start digging holes and pouring concrete outside!Based on the size, weight, construction, included anchor system, and overall quality, this feels like a very durable pole and an excellent value for the money. I’ll update my review if we run into any issues after installation, but my first impression is that this thing is built to last.

Really cool yard light and works really well. Easy install.

This turned out to be a really cool item that ended up solving a completely different problem than the one I originally ordered it for!My original plan was simply to use it for some additional lighting and decoration in front of our house. Then our aluminum flagpole blew over during a storm. Replacing a tall flagpole isn't exactly an inexpensive purchase, so we started looking for a temporary solution—and realized this heavy-duty lamp post might actually work.We already had a concrete pad where the old flagpole had been installed, so we bolted this post securely into place. We then attached the top ring from our flag setup near the top of the lamp post and rigged everything to work with the new setup. Is it a traditional flagpole? Nope. Is this thing going to blow over during the next strong wind? I seriously doubt it! It's SOLIDLY anchored. The light itself is nice and bright and does a great job illuminating the flag at night. The post isn't as tall as our original flagpole, but it's working perfectly well until we're ready to replace that one. When we eventually do, we'll simply install the new flagpole beside this and continue using the lamp for its original purpose. It's sturdy, attractive, and provides great illumination. We may not be using it exactly as intended right now, but it turned out to be an excellent problem solver!

Very solid anchoring system

I put this up beside my garage, which is detached and does not have a power source. I was worried about it leaning in the soft soil, but this cage base is wonderful. Much more sturdy than the traditional "pour concrete in a hole, hold the pole up until it sets" method we've used on shorter poles. It was easy to assemble, and installation was greatly simplified by the cage base. We prepped the hole, leveled the post, poured, and it was done. It's wonderful to have a nice light out there now. I live in a very rural spot with no external light at the garage, this is a great addition. Now when I leave for work pre-dawn I can see where I'm going instead of stumbling through the dark. I also love the height of this pole, this lets the solar panels on the light get sun instead of competing so much with the garage itself and the trees on the other side.

## Overall Assessment**This is an excellent, heavy-duty street light pole that lives up to its durability claims.** I give it **5/5 stars**. The construction is genuinely impressive—so sturdy that I'm confident it would survive a collision with a car better than the car would. It's the kind of installation that gives you real peace of mind, both functionally and structurally.## Assembly & SetupThe pole is **remarkably intuitive to assemble**, which is fortunate because the manual is essentially worthless—I'd recommend skipping it entirely. The actual process is straightforward once you have the right tools. Here's what you'll actually need:- **5/8" cement drill bit** (buy a long one—this is essential)- **7/8" wrench** for the boltsThose two items will get you through the entire installation.## Installation ExperienceThe most challenging aspect was **mounting the pole hardware to the cement foundation**. This involved some additional drilling and sizing adjustments for the screws, which required problem-solving and patience. However, once I worked through those initial hurdles, the rest of the installation moved smoothly and easily.I was fortunate to install the pole on a cement platform just a foot or two from my garage, with the exterior breaker box conveniently located nearby—this proximity will make the final electrical work much simpler.## Final Verdict & Practical BenefitsThe pole is now in place and ready for the light fixture and power routing. It will illuminate the corner of my garage and driveway—an area that's been dark until now and was previously home to a light pole, I assume/believe, long since removed.Beyond the obvious security benefit, I'm genuinely pleased to have bright, wide-reaching lighting across my property. Our semi-rural location attracts plenty of wildlife—deer, raccoons, possums, stray cats, and even a neighborhood mother cat who inexplicably leaves kittens at my front door. Safe, reliable lighting makes a real difference in a setting like this.**Most importantly: if a vehicle ever comes in contact with this pole, the car will come off worse for the wear. The pole will likely only need a fresh coat of paint.** That's the level of engineering and durability you're getting here.

Much more substantial than a decorative garden light pole

[Number of Items: 1]
At 10 feet tall, this is a serious mounting pole rather than a short decorative lamp post. It’s useful when you actually need to elevate a solar or compatible post light high enough to illuminate a driveway, parking area or larger section of property. The metal construction feels substantial, and I especially like that a rebar cage base is included because a pole this tall needs a properly designed foundation rather than simply being stuck into the ground.Pros:• Full 10-foot height• Heavy-duty metal construction• Adjustable design• Rebar cage base included• Great for solar street-light installations• Suitable for driveways and larger outdoor areas• More substantial than decorative lamp postsCons:• Proper foundation and installation are essential• Wind loading becomes important with a pole this tall• Verify the mounting dimensions and weight of your intended light before installationOverall, this is a substantial mounting solution for an elevated outdoor light. With a 10-foot pole, however, the foundation and installation deserve just as much attention as the fixture mounted on top.

Exceptionally Sturdy Pole with an Excellent Concrete Anchoring SystemExceptionally Sturdy Pole wi...

Pros:* Extremely sturdy, heavy-duty construction* Substantial steel sections and base* Includes a rebar anchor cage for a permanent concrete installation* Anchor cage folds for shipping and expands for installation* Cage positions the mounting bolts correctly while the concrete sets* Heavy-duty base bolts securely to the finished foundation* Three-section design provides installation flexibility* 3-inch top accommodates a variety of lights and other equipment* Galvanized construction for outdoor durability* Finally gives me a proper mounting solution for larger outdoor lightsConsider:* This is a substantial pole intended for a serious installation. Taking the time to create a proper concrete foundation is important. My Experience:I’m genuinely impressed with this pole. I have several outdoor lights that I’ve avoided installing simply because I didn’t have a pole that I considered sturdy enough to support them properly. This solves that problem. It’s sturdy, and then some. The pole itself feels substantial and purpose-built rather than like an oversized piece of thin tubing. Once assembled, the three sections create a very solid 10-foot mounting structure, and the wide base provides a substantial connection point at ground level. What impressed me most, however, is the included rebar anchoring cage. I wasn’t expecting such a complete foundation system. The cage folds for shipping, then expands into its proper shape when you’re ready to install it in concrete. This is a very smart design. Rather than trying to independently position several anchor bolts in wet concrete and hoping everything remains perfectly aligned while it cures, the cage holds the bolts in their correct positions.Once the concrete has cured, the mounting bolts are already positioned exactly where they need to be. The pole’s base can then be lowered over them and securely fastened. It makes a potentially frustrating part of installing a large pole considerably easier and provides a much more professional foundation.I also appreciate the versatility of the 3-inch top. Although my primary purpose is mounting outdoor lighting, the pole could potentially support various compatible solar lights, cameras, or other outdoor equipment. The substantial construction gives me considerably more confidence than trying to adapt a lighter-duty post for equipment it wasn’t really designed to support. The galvanized steel construction is another important feature for something that’s going to remain permanently outdoors. A pole like this isn’t something I want to dig up or replace every few years, so corrosion resistance and overall construction quality matter. This isn’t merely an accessory for hanging a lightweight garden light. It’s a serious mounting pole with a correspondingly serious anchoring system.I’ve had lights waiting for installation because I lacked a pole I trusted to support them. I finally have one. The strength of the pole impressed me, but including the folding rebar cage and properly positioned concrete anchor bolts is what really sets this package apart. Excellent design and an exceptionally sturdy product.

Heavy duty construction, utilitarian buildHeavy duty construction, utilitarian build

[Number of Items: 1, Number of Items: 1]
Heavy duty build, comes in a box that says heavy, and thats a good thing when it comes to mounting a larger light fixture 10 ft up in the air.The base plate is a full 1/4 inch thick steel and actually very slightly warped, which will allow you to tighten down whichever side you need to get the post level without resorting to using shims. But do feel free to use shims if you need to.Welded design, and they did a fairly good job of it. There was a small wavy section and minor welding pits on the bottom section of pipe where the cone tapers down to the smaller size.Utilitarian build, there is no cover plate or caps for the bolts and nuts at the bottom. Large sturdy bolts included as well as anchor bolts for a poured concrete base. Three piece design for shipping purposes, but then it looks like a three piece post, there is just no hiding the splices. If you are hard wiring your light fixture, be sure to run your wire through the center of the concrete base to run up the post, and in conduit please.Along with the heavy product, the packaging was a little anemic. This is not the Amazon packaging, but a company boxing issue. There was some paint scuffing and scratches from the pieces rubbing against each other. My take... 5 stars for heavy duty build, 3 stars for utilitarian build.Recommended
