These cut-resistant cooking gloves earn a solid four stars for providing reliable peace of mind and excellent protection against accidental kitchen nicks and slips. They fit comfortably and offer just the right amount of dexterity needed for everyday tasks like slicing vegetables, using a mandoline, or grating cheese. While they are highly effective at stopping standard slips and minor blade contact, it is important to note that they are cut-resistant rather than entirely cut-proof, meaning a heavy-handed, intentional blade slice could likely still penetrate the fabric. For normal daily meal prep and preventing painful accidental scrapes, they are a fantastic, durable safety asset that definitely belongs in every kitchen drawer.

I got these Dowellife A5 cut-resistant gloves (Medium) mainly for kitchen work with a mandoline and occasional oyster shucking, and they’ve been a solid upgrade. The 13-gauge material is flexible enough that I can still handle small items and tools without feeling clumsy, while the A5 rating gives real peace of mind against slips. What I like most is the system: the cut-resistant liners plus the disposable nitrile outers. You can keep the liners on longer and just change the outer gloves when they get messy, so you’re not constantly washing the main pair. The red/black cuffs make them easy to tell apart and they stay in place well. The pack includes 2 pairs of the cut-resistant gloves and 50 nitrile outers, which is practical and lasts a while with regular use. They fit true to size for me and haven’t felt stiff or overly bulky. Overall, a smart and convenient setup for safer food prep. Happy with them.

I have cut myself several times in the kitchen, had near misses, and when I use a grater I usually stop slicing well before my fingers are close to the blade. So, when these Dowellife A5 Cut Resistant Kitchen Gloves with Nitrile Outer Gloves were available for selection, I happily chose them. The set comes with two pairs of cut resistant kitchen gloves, one set with red cuffs, and one set with black cuffs, to reduce the risk of cross contamination. And the cut resistant gloves are meant to be used with the included nitrile outer gloves to help keep the inner gloves clean. Everything in the box seems to be good quality and the nitrile gloves are not thin. My hands are large for a woman, and I normally wear XL nitrile gloves, but I purposely chose the Large size set of gloves. Wearing the cut resistant gloves with the nitrile outer gloves is a bit snug, and I would not want to wear them for extended periods. However, I feel like having snug gloves helps me while cutting because I do not need to worry about loose gloves slipping around. These gloves are not something I will use every time I cook, but will be especially helpful when grating or when I am slicing food with a little bit of resistance, like meat. The 50 Nitrile Outer Gloves will last awhile, and Nitrile Gloves are easy to find when I need to replace them. I will likely continue with using the Large size Nitrile Gloves. Since these gloves come in smaller sizes, I think these gloves could also be helpful when teaching children to cook since they will not be worried about cutting themselves. I haven’t tried these Cut Resistant Kitchen Gloves with Nitrile Outer Gloves for other purposes, but I will use them the next time I wash my food processor because I have cut my fingers on the blades several times. I like these gloves and I think the price is fair for two Cut Resistant Kitchen Gloves with 50 Nitrile Outer Gloves.

I was very happy to find some cut resistant gloves in a size that fits me. It’s not often I can find size small (they make them but not all sales outlets would carry them). I really appreciate the systems they put in place with giving TWO Pairs of gloves so that one could prevent cross contamination. And the nitrile gloves over them is a good choice. I hadn’t thought of doing that before and it’s definitely made it a lot more accessible to use the gloves in more situations. I know it was listed in the description and photos that there were nitrile gloves but when I opened the package I didn’t realize the main gloves were underneath right away and I thought I had ordered the wrong thing. So far the gloves seem like they would hold up very well to cuts and also with easy washing and daily wear and tear. I haven’t purposefully tried to test it but overall I feel like it does offer finger protection. It feels comfortable to wear them but it does feel like the nitrile glove size would be better suited if sized up. The gloves breathe well, are a decently soft to the touch material for a cut resistant fabric, and feel just right without the nitrile but a bit hot and tight with the outer gloves. So in most situations I would use the gloves without the nitrile if I can avoid it, and with the gloves for messy foods and things which may need to be kept separate. That gives more versatility in homes with food allergies also. I would buy these again if I needed more but I think that these should last enough that I don’t have to worry about that for a while.

SO pissed when I first opened the box, seeing a pack of nitrile gloves that are most definitely NOT cut resistant. It didn't seem to have enough room for anything beyond that mini box of rubbers, but I took em out anyway and was very glad to see two pairs of cut safe gloves underneath with a little paper explaining exactly how safe they are.Doing a lot of fish and game processing, there are a lot of very sharp knives around. I don't care for infection or stitches, so figured I'd try these out. Like I did with the full sleeves I got, I put them on one at a time and grabbed my sharpest blade to test. If I see blood, they don't do what they advertise. No blood, so they're good. I use moderate pressure, same as I would when processing. There is a slight deformation in the stitching where the edge glides across, but no visible cuts or even trays. I got the large and they fit a teensy bit small but not so much that they're uncomfortable. Maybe size up if you're not sure.Final thoughts, these are great gloves. They do what they say they do, you get two sets, and a bonus box of rubber gloves so you don't goop up the fabric. Never a bad idea to have these around the kitchen, in the garage, in a hunting bag or in camping gear. Worth the price to keep yourself safe.

Okay, I'll confess: I can't stand oysters and wouldn't know what a mandoline was if it hit me in the head. Fine, I went ahead and looked it up – it's definitely never been on our list of kitchen tools. However, when I read through the description and saw a guy wearing these to fix his bicycle, it was an "ah ha!" moment for me. Out here on the farm we often end up repairing tools and implements that are sharp. Mower blades, pole saws, and much more. The cuts and scratches are endless. The first thing I did was grab a pair of these along with a pair of outer nitrile gloves and finish up work on a large mower deck. Just being able to quickly maneuver parts and pieces around with less fear of being cut was awesome. These are very well made and even when one of the outer gloves got torn or cut, the cut-resistant inner glove never even got a scuff. They shouldn't need too much washing other than for sweaty hands. Two layers of gloves on a hot summer day can get pretty toasty when used outside. As others have noted, the nitrile gloves can be a bit tight when placed over the cloth gloves – especially if you have large hands. Quite honestly, I'll probably use some XXL nitrile gloves we bought separately. Still, it's a great combination. The price is decent for what you get, but if you have extra large hands you may not find the 50 included nitrile gloves are practical. You'll need to consider that when you pay a package price.

I love these gloves! One of the biggest reasons is the fit. I ordered the small size, and they fit my hands perfectly. I have small hands and short fingers, so most gloves end up being too large and awkward to work in, but these were true to size and comfortable to wear.I use them primarily in the kitchen while cutting meat and vegetables. After cutting myself more times than I care to admit, I wanted something that would make food prep feel a little safer. These gloves have done exactly that. I typically wear them for about an hour at a time while prepping meals, and my hands stay clean and, more importantly, cut-free.The dexterity is surprisingly good for a cut-resistant glove. Even with the nitrile glove over the top, I could still use my cell phone without having to remove the gloves. Handling wet or slippery foods was also easy, and I never felt clumsy while using knives or preparing ingredients. My only complaint is that the included nitrile gloves ran a bit small for me and tore while I was putting them on. I switched to a larger nitrile glove that I already had, and that worked perfectly with the cut-resistant gloves underneath. These gloves make the scary part of chopping vegetables a lot less scary. I would say the small size fits a typical small adult hand very well, although they would probably still be too large for a child.Overall, this is an easy 5-star product for me, and I plan to keep using them whenever I'm doing kitchen prep.

What Makes Them Stand OutA5-Level Cut Resistance, Maximum ProtectionEngineered to ANSI A5 standards, these gloves withstand significant blade contact—protecting hands during mandoline slicing, oyster shucking, and other high-risk kitchen tasks where a momentary lapse can result in serious injury.13-Gauge Flexible ConstructionHigh-density knit fibers deliver cut protection without the stiffness of traditional chainmail or leather alternatives—preserving dexterity, grip precision, and tactile feedback critical for delicate knife work and shellfish handling.Nitrile Outer Glove SystemThe included nitrile outers create a waterproof, grippy barrier over the cut-resistant liner—preventing slippery handling of wet foods, reducing cross-contamination, and extending the life of the protective base layer.Rarely Need Wash DesignThe two-layer system isolates food contact to the disposable or easily cleaned nitrile outer—meaning the A5 liner stays fresh longer, reducing laundry frequency and maintaining consistent protective integrity through extended use.Red/Black Cuff Color CodingDistinctive cuff colors enable quick size identification and task-specific pairing—streamlining kitchen workflows and preventing cross-use between raw meat, produce, and shellfish prep zones.2 Pairs + 50 Outer Gloves ValueMultiple liner pairs support rotation between washes while the generous nitrile supply ensures uninterrupted protection—eliminating mid-prep shortages and reducing per-use cost compared to single-use cut-resistant alternatives.Oyster & Mandoline SpecializedPurpose-built for the two most dangerous common kitchen tasks—oyster shucking where slipped blades cause severe hand lacerations, and mandoline slicing where fingertips routinely contact razor-sharp blades at speed.Who They're ForHome cooks and professionals regularly using mandolines, mandolins, or shucking oystersCulinary enthusiasts prioritizing hand protection without sacrificing the dexterity needed for precise knife workAnyone who has experienced or fears kitchen blade injuries and wants professional-grade preventionBottom LineA thoughtfully engineered, two-layer cut-protection system that delivers ANSI A5 safety, 13-gauge flexibility, and practical hygiene management—transforming the most dangerous kitchen tasks from anxiety-inducing risks into confident, controlled operations with genuine peace of mind.
