I would consider this step stool to be lightweight and compact when folded. Perfect for anyone who requires a small step stool but does not have the space to spare.While it does hit the mark for being lightweight, portable, and multifunctional with a buckle lock mechanism for when the stool is open that is both functional and a clever safety feature. I found it to be stable on hardwood floors, although I wouldn't use it on a thick carpeted floor because it didn't feel very stable. Around the kitchen, I found it to be adequate.I would inform anyone considering buying this step stool that the tread width is only 11 ¾ inches. The distance from the floor to the first step is about 8 ½ inches, and the distance to the top of the second step is 17 ¼ inches.I was disappointed with how narrow the step tread was and the steep angle of the steps, which left me feeling a bit precarious when using it. For me, the value-to-cost ratio was a bit too much for its limitation.
