If not for that, this would be an easy winner.Otherwise, everything is good here and it offers a wider functional range than most wrenches its size. 1-1/2 inch max spread on the jaws. No play in the mechanism. Comfortable rubberized grip. Accurate etched SAE and Metric scales on either side of the wrench. You would be forgiven for confusing it for a Vise-Grip product, in form and function.In my personal opinion, it is also quite comfortable to use. It's well-balanced and something about the grip makes it feel unexpectedly "sure handed".There's a lot to like here, but that adjustment screw gives it away.

I've got several adjustable wrenches, but this one has some nice features that some of my other adjustable wrenches don't. First off is the rubber coated handle. It give the wrench a nice feel and allows you to get a better grip. I wish all my tools had rubber grips. Even with the rubber grip, this wrench is a little slimmer than most of my other wrenches.This wrench also has laser-etched SAE and metric scales which are accurate. I find that helps me to zero in on the correct size as long as I know the size of the bolt. It also helps to determine the size of the bolt if you don't know. Made of chromium-vanadium steel, I find that this tool will be quite durable.The wrench opens wider than my other 8" adjustable wrenches. It opens to 1 1/2" which is pretty cool! I like the yellow stripe as it makes it easy to spot the wrench. The hole to hang the wrench is a nice feature as well, though all of my wrenches have this.I find the edges are a bit sharp, and adjusting the wrench is not as smooth as it could be, but that may improve with usage. I would not remove a star for either of these things, but I thought it was worth mentioning. For the quality and price, this is a good value.

If you're only going to have one size of adjustable wrench, an 8" is a great size to get. Kind of a middle of road that can tackle a vast array of projects. This LIYU looks to be a very good quality of adjustable wrench. The jaws open to an expansive 1-1/2", which is wider than my other 8" wrenches (and the reason I ordered this one). I would typically have to upsize my wrench size to get out to 1-1/2".The LIYU wrench has good grip on the jaws, there is a slight texture on the inside. The plastic or whatever coating on the handle gives you a confident grip on the tool and it is less likely to slip out of your hand. So far the adjustment has been smooth to operate with my thumb without any hang-up. The side of the jaws has Imperial measurements etched on one side and metric on the other. These are nice for giving you a rough fitting on your target which you can fine tune when you slide the wrench in place. The tapered jaws lets me get into a little tighter quarters than some of my other adjustable wrenches.The few times I've used the wrench so far it has performed flawlessly, like you would expect. Value wise the adjustable wrench was priced at $15 when I ordered it. That is a reasonable value for such a well made tool. From a durability point of view, this well made adjustable wrench could very well last you a lifetime.

It has an etched scale to indicate the opening size, both in SAE and Metric sizes.I like everything about this wrench, except that the scale is only lightly etched, and the print is small, so it's not really helpful under most lighting conditions. Frankly, I don't expect to have a scale, so for me it's not an issue, so this is still a 5-star product for me.
