[Style: Anti-Scale Activated Carbon Filter, Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)]
This is a great sediment filter. I recently replaced mine after using it for about three months, and it was definitely full of sediment when I removed it from my whole-house filtration system.I don’t have a way to test the water quality, so I can’t say exactly how thoroughly it filters sediment from the water. However, seeing the amount of sediment collected in the filter after three months gives me confidence that it was doing its job and functioning as intended.Overall, I’m happy with the performance and would use this filter again.

This 5 micron filter fits a 20" x 4.5" housing & works very well!We have this as one of the filters in a three part system. Before we added this filter to our setup we had a lot of scale on our faucets. The day before my husband added this to our system I had done a descale through all our faucets and appliances with vinegar and scrubbed & scrubbed & scrubbed. I would have to do this every week. It has been a month and I haven't had to do this type of cleaning. Which saves me a lot of time and energy. This filter effectively removes Chlorine, odors, sediment, dirt, sand, rust and scale. All the way down to 5 micron. I have not noted any difference in water pressure. We only note that when it is time to change the filters.of note: when you receive the filter you will hear something moving inside it. This is the Activate carbon. It helps to remove odors and nasty flavor of well water that is not clean.Add this to your subscribe and save as a two pack. You won't regret it!

This 5 micron filter is a solid choice for filtering out sediments in your whole house system. I have had several setups of filter systems and use these as prefilters going into my main large tank. Helps keep the media in the large tank cleaner longer and I just change this out every six months. As far as installation, fits great in my standard big blue system with no issues. For the price I would say middle of the road but I trust the quality so worth it for me. Good value, easy install.

This is one of the few reasonably priced filters that actually removes most of the calcium. The vendor is calling it limescale removal but limescale is calcium. It also does the usual sediment and carbon filter stuff. This will make a nice addition to the 3 canister whole house filter I have. Not sure I'll see any difference with this as I didn't have a calcium problem before. No deposits in any of the faucets or showerhead. These are also considered to be water softener filters. No reduction of pressure that I can tell.Good deal for a sometimes difficult to find filter. Easy to recommend.

I haven't cut this filter apart but it's much heavier than my older carbon filtering cartridges so it would seem it has more filtering media than others. Also what's interesting is that when you shake it you can actually hear the filtering media in the cartridge. Something I've never heard before. I'm using this as the last filter in my three cartridge whole house system. What I generally notice first is the taste of the water when I replace the cartridges. This filter does a great job removing any unwanted odors, mineral or chlorine taste in the water and the water tastes good. It fits perfectly in the existing cartridge containers and is very easy to install. Overall I'm impressed with the cartridge and although it's a bit pricey, the water quality I've observed so far is very good.

I absolutely love this brand. I have been getting all of my whole house filters from this company the fit for the 20 x 4.5 was perfect installation took two minutes tops. These filters are very durable. They function well and they last a very long time I have very bad hard city water. I do have this whole house filtered system as well as a water softener. My house was built in 1924. I put a D scaler on the pipes, so a couple of my first couple filters have really been showing the result of the pipes getting cleaned out. These filters have been doing a great job with trapping the sediment, the scale and all the nasty stuff. Highly recommend. Completely changes the way the water tastes and the way the water smell smells. These are very durable high-quality filters great value.

I was super impressed as soon as I pulled it out of the box—the design looks really good, and when you tilt it back and forth, it sounds just like a rainstick from all the media beads moving inside! I'm excited to see the effect it has on my water quality. However, I'm pretty skeptical about its claim as a "whole-house" filter. The promotional images show it being used for showers and washing machines, but the fine print lists a rated flow of just 2.5 GPM. That's way too low for an entire house. The spec sheet mentions 2.5 GPM at a 100,000-gallon capacity, so my guess is the flow rate starts a bit higher when fresh and degrades over that lifespan. For comparison, the other 5-micron coconut shell activated carbon filters I normally run are rated at 15 GPM when new. There are a lot of other factors at play I'm running between 30 and 50 psi.Now that I have it installed, there is a noticeable drop in water pressure compared to my previous setup. It’s still usable—the shower functions and the washing machine runs fine—but I am skeptical about how long it will stay usable before the flow chokes down too much. As well as how many fixtures I can run simultaneously. On the plus side, the end gaskets are really impressive—thick, clean, and heavy-duty (I included a photo of those, along with my full filter housing setup). I'm running a 30-micron pre-filter upstream to protect this unit and stretch its lifespan as long as possible, but time will tell if it can truly handle whole-house demands. The Water Quality is good as I would Expect it to be. It does have less of an odor from my well right out of the gate. I flushed approximately 100 gallons before using for cooking or consumption.UPDATE: After A few days in use. I can confirm it has "broken in" The flow rate is good I'm getting adequate water to my appliances. The stated spec of 2.5 GPM had me nervous but all is well for now.

This is a 3 in 1 filter featuring a 5 micron outer sediment with 2 types of media suspended in the inner core. The coconut shell activated carbon block removes CTO (chlorine, taste and odor) while the anti-scale beads help remove dissolved calcium and lime. It is an ingenious layered filter that only takes up a single canister. If you have excessive scale build-up on your fixtures and shower/tub, I would highly recommend an electronic water softener. I have had one installed for the past 20 years and it is doing a wonderful job. I have had no issues with scale since. They last about 10-15 years before needing replacing. I am on my second one although it is a different brand, it is working great. Combine that with a filter like this and you will have much softer water without the salt that most water softeners use. Pureplus makes some very good quality products and media. This is one of them. 5 stars.
